Another excellent week for Playstation off the back of Helldivers' success; timed exclusive Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth reviews have released and the game has attained critical acclaim. The trailer for Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree wowed many. Helldivers 2, despite its massive success however. suffered from server issues that made the game unplayable for many for days. Sony also had $10 billion of its value slashed over night as it cut its sales forecast as its game margin lowered to its lowest point in a decade. We got another Nintendo Direct which showed off a myriad of games and one of the biggest talking points was the appearance of former Xbox console exclusives at the show. A very bad week for Xbox as huge layoffs besiege Activision just months after the acquisition of Activision Blizzard King calling into question the future of ABK under the Xbox brand. Some say it was inevitable and a reflection of the industry as a whole that has suffered such layoffs and others point squarely to consolidation to blame such lay offs. Mike Ybarra, former President at Blizzard will be stepping down but speculation based on his recent comments suggest he may have been ousted. The Xbox Developer Direct finally took place and with it we got our first look at Indiana Jones! The title wasn't what a lot of people expected to be yet it appears to have been the highlight of the show. Hellblade 2 finally got a release date and we got a deeper look at Avowed. Square Enix made a surprise showing potentially signalling even further inroads in the relationship between Microsoft and the Japanese publisher.
