128: 60 Years of the Final Frontier, Part Three
2026/10/16
A discussion of "Impulse" from Season Three of Enterprise. Part of the Xindi War Saga, the story deals with the NX-01 coming across a Vulcan ship, the Seleya. The crew have been turned into mindless murderous zombies with no emotional control as the Trellium-D has damaged their brains to the point of no return. T'Pol, who is part of the landing party, begins to exhibit the same symptoms. In this episode of Twin Cities Trekkies, which is a rebroadcast of The Undiscovered Podcast Presents: The Xindi Saga Pod from August 2026, Wes, Kyle Bain and Greg Vorob discuss this episode of Enterprise, which has a story credit by future Star Trek: Picard showrunner Terry Matalas. "Orders of Magnitude." In the second-to-last episode of Strange New Worlds' fourth season, Admiral Reeger (Joe Morton) takes command of the U.S.S. Enterprise on a chase to track down a ship that killed five million Federation citizens, including his family. James Kirk, on vacation from the Farragut, is temporarily assigned as first officer. They track the ship down, but what ensues is a potential planetwide genocide. Meanwhile, on a nearby planet, Pike and a landing party are taken prisoner by a group of Andorian mercenaries, and it is up to Uhura to save the day. 127: "Like Chronitons Through the Hourglass" - LIVESTREAM
2026/09/11
"Like Chronitons Through the Hourglass." In the seventh episode of Season Four of Strange New Worlds, the crew of the Enterprise is put into a soap opera like setting thanks to the trickster omnipotent Trelane (Rhys Darby) who is conducting an experiment with the crew to impress his fellow Q. In what is obviously a nod to the old NBC soap opera Days of Our Lives, the episode became one of the most cringy - and fascinatingly emotional - yet. In this episode of Twin Cities Trekkies, Wes reviews the episode plus talks about other things related to the podcast. PLEASE NOTE: The original audio cut out at 15:58, but the rest is recorded later on. Live #22: "Off-Hour"
2026/09/02
"Off-Hour." In the sixth episode of Strange New Worlds' fourth season, the Starship Enterprise is violently thrown off-course and into a slipstream wormhole, where the ship starts to accelerate past its operational limits. Running in real-time, the crew must work together in separate areas to regain moderate control and escape before the ship accelerates out of control. In this audio version of Saturday's broadcast of Twin Cities Trekkies, Wes talks about the episode and updates listeners about the podcast. Live #21: "Level-Five Transporter Accident"
2026/08/25
"Level-Five Transporter Accident." In the fifth episode of the fourth season of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, a transporter mishap turns the crew - sans Spock - into velvety puppets. There, they must try and fend off an Orion pirate attack on the ship, but pandemonium ensues. In an exclusive partnership with Jim Henson's Creature Shop, Strange New Worlds decided to go where no Star Trek episode had ever gone before - becoming Muppets - to hilarious results. In this livestream audio of Saturday's live broadcast of Twin Cities Trekkies, Wes talks about the episode, and updates viewers about the podcast! 2026/08/20
"A Case of Chiaroscuro." In the fourth episode of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds' fourth season, Una, M'Benga, and Uhura are trapped on an alien world that only works in black and white monochromatic colors and live a very 1940s esque lifestyle. Unfortunately, it has been a conquered planet of the Klingon Empire, and the occupier, Kor is being met with a quiet and subtle resistance cell, who was led by someone who looks like Una. In this audio-only episode of the Saturday livestream edition of Twin Cities Trekkies, Wes talks about the episode, and gives fun podcasting updates. 126: Let's Make Some Noise
2026/08/14
Celebrating the 10th anniversary of Star Trek Beyond. Beyond is the last theatrical film to date. The film was released on July 22, 2016, to lower-than-normal box office of the three Kelvin Timeline films and also due to "Sequelitis" that plagued the summer of 2016. The film was Paramount's SOLE successful film of the year. The film's underperformance scrapped plans for a planned time-travel sequel. The film had one of the worst marketing campaigns despite it was released to celebrate Star Trek's 50th anniversary. It nevertheless has the strongest story of the three films. In this episode of Twin Cities Trekkies, which marks the finale of the Second Star Trek Film Extravaganza, Wes welcomes Canadian writer and actor Heather Cameron to talk about the film. PODCAST NOTE: Heather makes mentions of being a former writer for TrekSphere. At the time of the recording, the site was off-line; it has since been back online. Live #19: "Human Best Friend"
2026/08/12
"Human Best Friend" In the third episode of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds fourth season, the main crew takes some R & R on a vacation planet. Ortegas (Melissa Navia) wakes up with a bad hangover and tries to piece together what happened, while the Enterprise continues on course for a planet to meet for negotiations. However, while trying to piece together what happened, she runs into her nemesis Scotty (Martin Quinn) and the two of them try and get the crew back together when a written message is given to them to deliver it to Pike saying that they will meet on the Enterprise instead. In this livestream audio of Sunday's broadcast of Twin Cities Trekkies, Wes discusses the episode, and updates listeners about the podcast. 125: Never Give Up, Never Surrender (REUPLOAD)
2026/07/31
REUPLOADED WITH NEW MUSIC! Galaxy Quest. Released in 1999 to spoof sci-fi fandom culture and Star Trek, the film is a cult classic amongst the Star Trek fan community, even voted as one of the best Star Trek movies, even though it is not a Star Trek movie. It starred actors who were known or were known and went on to do better things for themselves. In this episode of Twin Cities Trekkies, which is the penultimate part of the podcast's Star Trek Film Extravaganza, Wes sits down with Holly of The Mysterious Chirp podcast to celebrate this film. 124: Resistance is Futile (REUPLOAD)
2026/07/24
REUPLOADED WITH NEW MUSIC! Celebrating the 30th anniversary of Star Trek: First Contact. Following the release of Star Trek Generations and how much of a success it was, Paramount told Rick Berman to prepare the next film starring the cast of The Next Generation. Ronald D. Moore and Brannon Braga wanted to bring back the Borg, and Berman wanted a time travel story. They decided to combine the two - and different time periods were bandied about before settling upon the not-too-distant future. Released November 22, 1996 for the 30th anniversary of Star Trek, First Contact is generally considered the best of the TNG era of films. In this episode of Twin Cities Trekkies, which marks the fourth part (of six) of the podcast's Second Star Trek Film Extravaganza, Wes sits down with Synthgirl to talk about the film, other Star Trek related opinions and the design aesthetics of the franchise that were likely changed by the events of this movie. 123: Live from CONvergence 2026, Part II: "The Lore of Data"
2026/07/17
A live discussion about Data. An artificial being created by a human, Data is everything that humans can aspire to be. However, is he more human than even his crewmates from the Starship Enterprise made him out to be? In this episode of Twin Cities Trekkies, which was recorded live at CONvergence 2026: The Geek in the Machine convention on July 4, 2026, Wes and four others examine this particular question. Any feedback you have can be submitted to the Facebook page (facebook.com/TCTrekkiesPod), or by emailing them at [email protected]. 122: Live from CONvergence 2026, Part I: "Year in New Trek"
2026/07/10
The yearly Year in New Trek panel live from CONvergence. For the third straight year, Twin Cities Trekkies attended CONvergence, the annual sci-fi and fantasy convention in downtown Minneapolis. This year's theme was Geek in the Machine, which celebrated robots, cyborgs and androids. Of course, what sci-fi and fantasy convention wouldn't be complete without some Star Trek thrown in? In this episode of Twin Cities Trekkies, which was recorded live on July 5, 2026, Wes is joined by four other panelists as they discuss the year in new Star Trek. In this panel, they talk about some Starfleet Academy, Strange New Worlds and Section 31. This was Wes' third straight year of doing this panel so enjoy. 121: To Be or Not To Be (REUPLOAD)
2026/06/26
REUPLOADED WITH NO COPYRIGHTED MUSIC! Celebrating 35 Years of Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country. After the release of The Final Frontier, Paramount was not keen on making another Star Trek film. There were ideas bandied about, and even a prequel got so far as the storyboarding stage before being abandoned in favor of a final film starring the original cast. Released on December 6, 1991, to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Star Trek, The Undiscovered Country bookended the Original Series era with a film that told its version of the collapse of the Soviet Union - the film is the first to be released following the collapse of that communist nation. In this episode of Twin Cities Trekkies, which marks the halfway point of the podcast's Second Star Trek Film Extravaganza, Wes sits down with Jeffrey (Renegade Shipyards) to talk about this milestone film.
