EP255: Finding Safety and Self-Trust with Chris Dyer
2026/09/23
FINDING SAFETY AFTER TRAUMA SUMMIT
Chris will also be joining me as one of the speakers for the Finding Safety After Trauma Summit, happening October 22–23, 2026, from 10:00 AM–5:00 PM ET each day. I’m looking forward to having Chris be part of this special two-day event and sharing more conversations around safety, healing, and moving forward after trauma. Join us: https://hub.htdholisticservices.com/finding-safety-summit
In this episode, I’m joined by Chris Dyer, Strategic Advisor and speaker, for a conversation about finding safety, trusting yourself, and learning to listen to what you need.
Chris works with highly sensitive and empathic leaders who often carry a lot of responsibility. From the outside, they may seem like they have everything together, while on the inside they may feel stretched thin, unsupported, or unsure of what comes next.
We talk about some of the patterns that can make it difficult to trust yourself, especially when you’ve spent a long time taking care of others or trying to meet expectations. Chris shares her perspective on slowing down, paying attention to what your mind and body are telling you, and making choices that feel right for you.
We also talk about self-awareness, the nervous system, compassionate leadership, and what it can look like to move forward without losing yourself along the way.
I hope this conversation reminds you that you don’t have to have everything figured out. Rebuilding trust in yourself can start with simply listening to yourself again.

EP250: Healing Trauma and Restoring Wholeness with Lizbeth De Sa
2026/08/20
In this episode of the Heal Thrive Dream Podcast, I’m joined by Lizbeth De Sa for a conversation about healing trauma, understanding the different parts of ourselves, and what it can look like to feel whole again.
Lizbeth is an Internal Family Systems practitioner, Certified Level 3, educator, writer, laughter yoga leader, and conflict mediator. She works with people who are healing from deep trauma, including experiences that often go back to childhood.
During our conversation, Lizbeth shares more about Internal Family Systems (IFS) and the idea of the “multiple mind.” We talk about how the different parts of us can carry pain, fear, and old experiences, and how getting to know those parts can help us better understand ourselves and our healing.
A little more about Lizbeth:
Lizbeth is originally from England, is of Indian descent, and graduated from the University of Oxford. She has lived in Japan, Australia, New Zealand, California, and now South Carolina.
She is also a mom of two teenagers. Outside of her work, she enjoys meditation, playing the piano, speaking French, and occasionally doing improv comedy.
I hope you’ll join us for this meaningful conversation about trauma, IFS, and finding our way back to wholeness.

EP247: Healing Trauma Through Creativity with Devorah Hake Brinckerhoff
2026/08/04
Devorah Hake Brinckerhoff is one of the speakers at the Finding Confidence After Trauma Summit, a two-day virtual event happening August 13–14, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM ET. Register for the summit: https://hub.htdholisticservices.com/confidencesummit
Devorah Hake Brinckerhoff is a professional artist and transformational guide who developed Soul Portraits, a healing methodology that combines artistic expression with spiritual and emotional work to help people transform trauma into empowerment.
A gallery-represented artist with more than 30 years of experience, Devorah discovered that creativity helped her regulate her nervous system, release limiting beliefs, and understand trauma that had been stored in her body. Her artwork revealed emotions and memories that she could not access through words or conscious thought alone.
This experience inspired the Soul Portraits process. Using journals, photographs, letters, mementos, and mixed-media materials, participants symbolically deconstruct their past and reconstruct their experiences into meaningful artwork. The process helps make invisible emotions visible while creating a safe space for healing and self-discovery.
From her home studio in Oregon, Devorah coaches small groups, creates commissioned Soul Portraits, and facilitates virtual and in-person workshops. Her work helps people release old stories, reconnect with their inner wisdom, and rediscover their authentic selves. She is passionate about conversations exploring creativity, spirituality, trauma healing, and personal transformation

Tina Andrews is an educator, lawyer, and entrepreneur, and the Founder and Director of Adore Family Services, Inc., a therapeutic foster care agency serving children and families across Northern Virginia and promoting adoption through foster care.
Born and raised in North Wales, Pennsylvania, Ms. Andrews graduated from Howard University with honors, earning a degree in Education with a minor in Special Education. Driven by a lifelong calling to serve children in need, Tina returned to the Washington metropolitan area to establish ADORE, where she continues to lead with compassion, expertise, and a commitment to family-centered care.

In this powerful episode of the Heal Thrive Dream Podcast, I sit down with John P. Boyle to discuss his journey of surviving childhood trauma, healing from Complex PTSD, and finding hope through faith, recovery, and resilience.
John and I explore the lasting effects of childhood trauma, how Complex PTSD impacts relationships, marriage, parenting, and physical health, the long road to receiving the right diagnosis, EMDR therapy, grounding techniques, nervous system regulation, recovery from alcohol addiction, faith, hope, and breaking generational cycles of trauma.
John P. Boyle is an engineer, entrepreneur, executive advisor, and author whose life and work reflect a blend of Appalachian grit, business leadership, and principled purpose. Born into a multi-generational family of coal miners and raised in Kingwood, West Virginia, John’s story is rooted in hard work, resilience, and deep respect for the people and places that shaped him.
John graduated from The Kiski School in Pennsylvania, the West Virginia University School of Engineering, and Harvard Business School. From the age of thirteen through forty, he worked in nearly every role within his family’s business, including ten years as company president.
As a civil engineer, John has led thousands of public infrastructure, energy, natural gas, mining, and waste-disposal projects across 10 East Coast states. He has also founded four service-related companies in the environmental, transportation, natural gas, and coal industries.
Throughout his career, John has served in multiple C-suite and executive advisory roles and has sat on the boards of more than a dozen companies nationwide. He currently serves on the advisory boards of TQG, Inc. and Qryptonic, LLC, and on the board of directors of the American Road & Transportation Builders Association, where he served as President of the Contractors Division in 2017.
John is also the author of Appalachian Kid, an Amazon best-selling memoir published in 2023, and Invisible Wounds, published in 2026. Through his writing, he shares stories of faith, leadership, perseverance, and identity, encouraging readers to honor their roots while pursuing lives of integrity and impact.

EP242: Overcoming Grief and Chronic Illness with Cyndee Dhalai
2026/06/30
Grief and chronic illness have a way of changing every part of your life. In this episode, I had the privilege of sitting down with Cyndee Dhalai to talk about what it really looks like to keep going when life doesn't go as planned.
Cyndee Dhalai has worn many hats throughout her life, teacher, counselor, wife, mother, widow, patient, and writer. After spending more than 25 years in education, she now shares her own journey of grief, chronic illness, resilience, and hope to encourage others who may be walking through difficult seasons.
During our conversation, we talk about what grief has taught her, how she has learned to live with chronic illness, the importance of choosing hope even in painful moments, and why our struggles don't have to define who we become.
If you've ever experienced loss, faced health challenges, or simply needed a reminder that healing is possible, I think you'll find encouragement in Cyndee's story.

EP241: Rebuilding After Grief and Narcissistic Abuse with Julie Barth
2026/06/24
In this episode, we welcome Julie Barth for a powerful conversation about loss, caregiving, emotional abuse, survival, and rebuilding life after trauma.
JULIE BARTH is a writer, mother of six, trauma survivor, and founder of the Colin James Barth Outreach, a nonprofit dedicated to supporting women-led households in times of crisis. Julie’s memoir, NOTES FROM A BLACKBERRY, is a deeply moving account of love, loss, and resilience, chronicling her journey as a special needs parent while navigating the heartbreaking realities of her first husband’s battle with cancer.
Julie discusses the complexities of loss, emotional abuse, and rebuilding life after trauma. With so many women silently enduring these struggles—whether as caregivers, widows, or survivors of toxic relationships—Julie’s story is both deeply personal and yet universally relevant. Your conversation with her will provide your listeners actionable steps they can take toward healing, securing safety and resources, and ultimately reclaiming personal power.
For many women, the burden of caregiving, financial instability, or an emotionally abusive relationship can feel isolating and impossible to escape. Julie’s journey—from raising a daughter with a rare genetic disorder to losing her first husband to cancer and then surviving years of financial and emotional abuse in her second marriage—sheds light on the hidden struggles so many endure behind closed doors. Through her nonprofit and her writing, she’s committed to helping women in crisis understand that leaving isn’t just possible—it’s necessary. Julie’s insight offers a compelling discussion about resilience, recognizing red flags, and taking back control of their lives.
