During her last year at university, Sonia left Peter Jones to start a 3-week internship at the Telegraph, this then led to a full-time job as a beauty writer for Stella magazine. This week, as part of British Science week our President of Education Pillar, Elizabeth Barnett-Lawton, speaks to Sam Farmer, cosmetic scientist and owner of the unisex, personal care range for teenagers, ‘SAM FARMER’. It was only when Sam’s children reached puberty that he became aware of the manipulative and sexist biases surrounding young people’s cosmetic products. Sam believed that the derogatory imagery and wording was creating more harm than good and decided to take action.
