Nehemiah: The Burden to Build wk 3- God's Power on Display
2026/09/29
We all have been part of shared projects that have been difficult, with uneven workloads, and less than desirable outcomes. Yet, shared projects can be tremendously fruitful and joyful when a shared vision meets a shared burden. The church is a shared project. Owned by no leader, staff or congregant. Yet, we all have a part to play, a role to fulfill, and a responsibility to one another. And when we all step in and participate, God's power is on display. Come join us as we consider how ordinary faithfulness, combined with shared vision, leads to advancing God's work in our hearts and within our world.
Nehemiah: The Burden to Build wk 2: Faith Moves Us to Build
2026/09/21
During week 2 of our series "Nehemiah: The Burden to Build"... After months of prayer, Nehemiah asks the king for permission and resources to rebuild Jerusalem. He travels to the city, inspects the walls, develops a plan, and finally invites the people to join him: “Come, let us rebuild the wall of Jerusalem.”
Nehemiah wk 1: A Burden to Build
2026/09/14
During week 1 of our series "Nehemiah: The Burden to Build"...God often begins a calling by giving us a burden, then reveals that he has already been preparing us to respond. Nehemiah teaches us to pay attention both to what God has caused us to care about and to what he has already placed in our hands.
Jesus in the City wk 7: A City that Missed Jesus
2026/09/07
During week 7 of our series "Jesus in the City", the topic of judgment is an uncomfortable one. Grace and love are much more inviting. The gospel leads with grace. Grace is a cornerstone of both Jesus' ministry and our faith. Yet the gospel also finishes with judgment. Scripture makes clear that Jesus is a just judge of humanity. So when Jesus pronounces judgment we do well to listen up. Come join us to learn how judgment, while often uncomfortable, is the very thing that helps us understand grace and provides a clear view of Jesus' love for us.
Jesus in the City wk 6: Greater than the storm
2026/08/31
During week 6 of our series "Jesus in the City", Jesus does not promise a life without storms, but he reveals that whatever overwhelms us is still under his authority, and he meets us there.
Jesus in the City wk 5: Jesus is for me, you and the annoying
2026/08/25
During week 5 of our series "Jesus in the City". Jesus' call to Levi the tax collector is an unexpected move. It is difficult for both the disciples and religious leaders to understand. Through this interaction Jesus both reveals his acceptance of the wicked and the redemptive power of his ministry. As a result, Levi is transformed into Matthew. This redemptive power of Jesus has come for you, me and those that annoy us the most. Listen in and be encouraged that Jesus is "for you". And yet be challenged that Jesus is calling you to those you find annoying.
Jesus in the City wk 4: Unlikely Grace
2026/08/17
During week 4 of our series "Jesus in the City", we look at Luke 7:1–10. Here it brings together people who should have remained divided and shows how Jesus crosses the boundaries we create. Through the faith of a Roman centurion, we see that no one deserves grace, no one is beyond its reach, and true faith means recognizing the authority of Jesus and placing our lives under it.
Jesus in the City wk 3: The Same Person Everywhere
2026/08/10
During week 3 of our series "Jesus in the City", Jesus invites us to live an undivided life, bringing his love, presence, and power into both our public and private worlds.
Jesus in the City wk 2: Calling and Sending the Ordinary
2026/08/03
During week 2 of our series "Jesus in the City" we take a look at the call of the first disciples. Why does Jesus, who is extraordinary, call such average, ordinary people and send them out into his mission? And as ordinary people, why is it so important that we "follow" Jesus. And at what cost? Come join us as we look into the life and ministry of Jesus.
Jesus in the City wk 1: When Jesus Moves Into Town
2026/07/27
Jesus came from heaven, was born in Bethlehem, fled to Egypt, was raised in Nazareth, but the city that was his home was Capernaum. In Capernaum Jesus began ministry, invested himself into the people and the community, and began a ministry that would ripple outward to the whole world. All ministry begins in a local setting- with the people next to us, our neighbors, co-workers, family, friends.
The Call to True Rest
2026/07/27
Hunter takes us back to the beginning and reminds us about God's call for Sabbath and rest. His gentle encouragement feels like an invitation to compare what "rest" currently looks to the Rest that God calls us to.
Dr Jeannine Hanger
2026/07/18
Special message from Dr Hanger out of 2 Corinthians 5.
How To Be A Good Citizen
2026/07/06
Peter writes to a people who are experiencing instability and chaos in the world around them. His encouragement to them, and to us, is that our lives will always have an unshakable stability due to the promise that we belong to a different kingdom. This free’s us to live without fear, and to serve the world around us, regardless of what comes.
The Book of James wk 11: The Most Powerful Weapon We Have
2026/06/29
Garrick closes out our series on James with chapter 5:13-18. He focuses on prayer being the central practice of a dependent life with God.
The Book of James wk 10: How to Think About The Future
2026/06/22
James warns us that success can quietly make us forget our dependence on God: we make plans, build lives, and chase security as if tomorrow belongs to us. But life is a mist, Christ is near, and wisdom begins when we learn to plan, work, and wait with our eyes fixed on him.
