Billy & Bryce Council Get Real | Father, Son & Son-Day Dinner | What's Buzzing Ep.2
2026/06/17
Father. Son. Unfiltered. This week on What's Buzzing, I sat down with Billy Council and his son Bryce the father-son duo behind Son-Day Dinner, a movement creating space for Black men to connect, heal, and build brotherhood over a meal. Two different states, one shared mission. We get into the heart behind why Son-Day Dinner had to exist, what it really means to raise a son from a distance, the conversations young Black men need to be having right now, why therapy still carries stigma in these spaces, and a Father's Day moment between Billy and Bryce that you don't want to miss. 🎙 Watch till the end for one of the most real father-son moments we've captured on What's Buzzing. What's Buzzing Ep. 1 | Simone Green: 2x Cancer Survivor, BET Soul & the Story That Changed Everything
2026/05/19
What's Buzzing is a brand new segment from Gospel Music Buzz — same wholesome lens, broader conversations. We are talking to artists, creatives, and culture makers about what they have going on right now. We are kicking off Episode 1 with a conversation I did not see coming. Simone Green is a Chicago-based R&B vocalist, songwriter, culture-activist, and two-time breast cancer survivor marking her 10th anniversary since her first diagnosis. She is also the director of a legal staffing firm, co-founder of the band Soul Sanctuary, and the artist behind Black Queen — the female empowerment anthem currently spinning on BET Soul and BETher across all BET Networks properties. In this conversation Simone opens up about where she was when she received that first cancer diagnosis and what it took to survive it twice. She shares the wild story of how doing somebody's hair in college led to a life-changing connection with Grammy Award-winning producer Maurice Joshua and brought her to Chicago. We get into what emotional sovereignty really means, why she filmed the Black Queen music video using her real unfiltered life, and what is coming on her sophomore album Black Queen dropping on her birthday August 8th 2026. Yonette Odessa joins for the wrap up as well. Stay until the end. Black Queen is out now on all platforms. 🎶 Stream Black Queen by Simone Green everywhere now🎥 Hosted by Sherwyn & Yonette | Gospel Music Buzz🔔 Subscribe for more interviews, event coverage, and stories of purpose Support the show:☕️ Ko-fi | https://ko-fi.com/gospelmusicbuzz💵 CashApp | https://cash.app/$GMBPay💳 PayPal | https://paypal.me/gospelmusicbuzz ⸻🌐 http://www.gospelmusicbuzz.com⸻ 📱 Follow us:Instagram | https://www.instagram.com/gospelmusicbuzzz/TikTok | https://www.tiktok.com/@gospelmusicbuzzThreads | https://www.threads.net/@gospelmusicbuzzzFacebook | https://www.facebook.com/gospelmusicbuzzTwitter | https://twitter.com/GospelMusicBuzz
