As athletes, we were taught one thing after a bad play: NEXT PLAY. Missed the shot? Next play. Dropped the ball? Next play. Got beat? Learn from it and line back up. But what happens when the game ends? In this episode, we talk about how former athletes can take that same “short-term memory” mentality into life beyond sports—careers, relationships, failure, rejection, purpose, and becoming a beginner again. The goal isn't to forget what happened. It's to remember the lesson without carrying the weight of the moment. How do you stop replaying past mistakes? How do you rebuild confidence after failure? How do you handle rejection in your career? How do you become comfortable being a rookie again? How do you figure out your next play when life doesn't have a playbook? Sometimes we spend so much time watching the last play that we miss the opportunity that's right in front of us.
