I’m back! Been away for a bit but getting back into the swing of things and what better way to start back with catching up with an old friend. This week I chatted with Ryan Goff of MGH Advertising and we got into his appearance on Wheel Of Fortune, his journey at MGH from almost quitting on his first day to now EVP CMO. This week, I had the huge pleasure of talking to the one and only Commish, Sarah Spain! Sarah is one of ESPN's top personalities with appearances on Around The Horn, OTL, Sports Center, Highly Questionable. In addition to her work at ESPN she is also the host of the That's What she Said podcast and just recently became a part owner of the NWSL Chicago Red Stars! In this episode, I got the pleasure of chatting with Tammi Gaw. Tammi is a very interesting person with a lot of experience in the sports world. With her background in gymnastics and in athletic training, mixed with her career in law, Tammi has excelled in advocating for amateur athletes as well as in her business, Advantage Rule. Tammi is someone who I randomly followed on Twitter due to her amazingly quippy and funny tweets and I thought what fun it would be to sit down and talk to her and I was not disappointed. This week I had the great privilege to speak with David Samson. David is the current host of the Nothing Personal with David Samson, regular on the Dan LeBatard Show with Stugotz, and former team president of the Miami Marlins. We go over his childhood, his days in law school, him selling papers in Europe, his days in MLB as team president and go into his daily habits of watching a movie a day to review it on his podcast NPDS.  There was a lot to get to and frankly not enough time but it was such a fun interview and you get to hear me ask a question he's never been asked before. This week, I got to finally sit down with my version of Ron Magill, Jeff Popp. Jeff is an animal biologist and always fascinates me with his knowledge of the animal kingdom so I just had to get him on to find out where his love for animals and nature came from. Plus, as I mentioned, this months theme is fatherhood and Jeff and his husband Steve recently just became fathers and I wanted to also bring you guys their story about that journey. We get into that story, him rescuing a baby turtle back to life when he was 16, his efforts with the Terrapin Institute, some fun facts about animals, his long journey to finally adopting a son with his husband and I might get cancelled for his answer as to which animal he would eliminate from the animal kingdom! Welcome back, welcome back, welcome back...In my triumphant return back to recording, I wanted to do a little theme month this week and thought what best than to highlight successful fathers. In this episode I had the pleasure of chatting with my long time friend, Duane Herr. Duane is the Athletic Director at our Alma Mater, Anne Arundel Community College, husband to his High School sweetheart and of course an amazing dad to three beautiful children. I welcome him to the three kid club, take a trip down memory lane through grade school all the way to high school baseball and then we talk about how his college baseball career impacted his career and ultimately his life. We finish the interview off with the struggles of being a parent/husband while having such a demanding job and advice he would give to people trying to take their careers to the next level.
