The Cost of True Discipleship
2026/09/30
Following Christ requires urgent action, single-minded focus, and the willingness to give completely of ourselves even through suffering and discomfort. Procrastination, divided loyalties, and a desire for ease only pull us away from our true mission.
Ultimately, authentic faith challenges us to move beyond superficial commitment and embrace the self-giving love that Christ demands of every true disciple.
How the Archangels Help Us in Spiritual Warfare
2026/09/29
On the Feast of Sts. Michael, Gabriel, and Raphael, we are reminded that an unseen spiritual warfare continues to unfold in our daily lives through division, pride, and moral ambiguity.
While modern self-sufficiency often masks this struggle, God provides the Archangels as powerful allies: St. Michael protects us against pride and deception, St. Gabriel strengthens us to fulfil God's will, and St. Raphael offers spiritual vision and healing.
By seeking their intercession and embracing our own call to act as protectors and healers for one another, we overcome the subtle traps of the evil one and anchor our hearts in God's truth.
Finding Value and Serving as a Child of God - William Cardinal Goh (Homily - 28 Sep 2026)
2026/09/28
By calling a child the greatest, Jesus reveals that our true worth lies not in our achievements, status, or power, but in being children of God made in His image. He warns that self-importance leads to spiritual ruin, urging us to embrace humility and serve God and others rather than seek personal recognition.
Do I recognise my value as a child of God, or do I find it in worldly things?
Is Your Life Focused on What Truly Matters? - Homily 24th September 2026
2026/09/24
Our busy lives can easily distract us from the questions that matter most: What are we living for? What truly gives our life meaning? The reality of life reminds us that our time is short. We are therefore called to pause, examine our lives, and ask whether we are living with purpose and without regret. In Jesus, we encounter the truth about ourselves and discover the way to true meaning.
Reflection Question: What are you truly living for, and what might God be inviting you to change?
Finding Peace Through Contentment - Homily 23rd September 2026
2026/09/23
The Book of Proverbs reminds us, true tranquility is found not in the extremes of wealth or poverty, but in a life of balance, moderation, and intentional contentment. When we cling tightly to material security, we risk placing our trust in perishable things rather than in God, making Him an afterthought rather than our foundation.
By practicing daily detachment, embracing our role as pilgrims, and relying on God for our "daily bread”, we free ourselves from the endless shift of life's goalposts and step into the authentic, lasting peace that only divine trust can provide.
Reflection Question: What do I need to surrender to God so that I can live with greater contentment and trust today?
Finding True Peace in the Will of God
2026/09/22
External achievements and worldly successes offer only temporary happiness, which fades as circumstances change. Deep and lasting peace is born of a clear conscience and a commitment to doing the will of God. Unlike fleeting happiness, true joy is a spiritual gift rooted in deep faith, assuring us of god’s presence through every trial, hardship, and suffering.
By looking to the example of Mary and keeping our hearts rooted in God's word, we find a steady, calm assurance that frees us from fear and fills our lives with lasting purpose.
What temporary attachment or worry is the Lord asking me to surrender so I can align my heart with His will and experience true peace?
Resurrection: The Foundation of our Faith - Homily 18th September 2026
2026/09/18
The entire weight of the Christian faith hinges on this single truth: Jesus genuinely died and physically rose from the dead. Because of the Resurrection, we can have confidence in the resurrection of our own bodies, the forgiveness of our sins, and the fullness of life that awaits us. This faith gives meaning to how we live today: to sacrifice, serve others, endure suffering, and remain faithful even in difficult times. Because Christ is risen, our lives have a destination and our hope is grounded in Him.
Reflection Question: How will believing in Christ’s Resurrection shape the way I live, suffer, serve, and hope today?
True Conversion: Moving From the Head to the Heart - Homily 17th September 2026
2026/09/17
God’s forgiveness is more than just an intellectual knowledge that our sins are absolved; it requires breaking through spiritual numbness so His mercy can truly touch our hearts. Like the tearful woman at Jesus's feet and St. Paul, when we recognise the true gravity of our sins and experience Christ's personal love, our lives are transformed. Through the tangible gift of the Sacraments, Jesus meets us where we are so we can let go of guilt, forgive ourselves, and respond with deep gratitude.
Reflection Question: When I examine my own spiritual life, in which areas have I become numb to my recurring faults, and how can I cultivate true remorse and receive God's healing love?
Styles May Differ, But What Is The Message? - Homily 16th September 2026
2026/09/16
God speaks to us in different ways. Sometimes His word challenges and awakens us; at other times, it consoles and reassures us. Like John the Baptist and Jesus, the style may differ, but the purpose remains the same: the conversion of our hearts. What matters is not simply how the message is delivered, but whether we are willing to hear what God is saying to us.
And when we speak to others, St. Paul reminds us that everything must be rooted in love. Only love helps us know when to be firm, when to be gentle, and how to speak the truth in a way that can lead others closer to God.
Reflection Question: How can I cultivate a heart that is open to God’s message and ensure that love is the only motive when I speak the truth to others?
Our Lady of Sorrows: Suffering in Union with Christ - Homily 15th September 2026
2026/09/15
The Feast of Our Lady of Sorrows invites us to look beyond the physical suffering of Jesus and contemplate the deeper suffering of love. When Mary stood at the foot of the Cross, her agony was not merely that of a heartbroken mother watching her Son endure a violent, public death.
Instead, her heart broke in full alignment with Christ’s divine mission: she suffered with Him, grieving deeply over the sins of the very people who were crucifying her Son.
Reflection Question: When I face suffering, disappointment, or trials, do I grow in resentment and seek an escape, or do I surrender my pain to God by praying "Thy will be done"?
Training for Eternity
2026/09/11
True leadership cannot be powered by professional expertise alone; it demands a deep and disciplined spiritual life that goes beyond counting the cost or seeking temporal recognition. Ultimately, we are called to be generous disciples labouring for eternity, constantly ensuring our own hearts are formed in Christ so that in announcing the Good News to others, we do not end up disqualified ourselves.
Reflection Question
In which areas of my life do I need to actively discipline my own heart to lead others closer to Christ?

The Way of Christian Love - Homily 10th September 2026
2026/09/10
While knowledge helps us grow in faith, it must always be subordinated to charity. True Christian maturity does not look down on those with simpler expressions of faith or those bound by sensitive consciences; rather, it actively surrenders its own personal rights for the spiritual well-being of others.
Following Christ requires going beyond mere justice to practice a radical, self-giving charity. One that is tender towards the weak, sensitive to the needs of neighbours, and reflective of the Father’s impartial mercy.
Reflection Question: Where is Christ asking me to go beyond what is merely just or required, and respond with greater compassion, patience, and love?
The Secret to True Joy
2026/09/09
True Christian joy is not an external reward, it is an inner state of the soul rooted in gratitude, meaning, and an eternal perspective. While earthly pleasures and temporary comforts inevitably fade, a heart anchored in God remains unshakeable through both suffering and abundance.
True fulfilment is never found in living for oneself or clinging to a passing world. Instead, lasting peace emerges when we embrace our shared vocation to love, practice holy detachment, and recognise that our present trials are shaping us for eternity.
Simplicity and Quiet Trust of the Blessed Virgin Mary
2026/09/08
Jesus’ genealogy was filled with flawed kings, Gentiles, and scandalous stories, proving that God actively enters into human weakness to accomplish redemption. While we often fixate on our limitations, past failures, or difficult upbringings, Mary and Joseph show us the quiet power of simple, trusting cooperation with God's grace.
Our history does not dictate our destiny; grace empowers us to step beyond victimhood, accept our unique calling, and trust that God can transform even our greatest disadvantages into instruments of His glory.
Which areas of your life are you holding on to as excuses, and how is God inviting you to trust His grace and "dance with Him" instead?
Called to Serve: The Heart of Christian Leadership - Homily 4th September 2026
2026/09/04
Christian leadership is not about being served, but about serving others with humility. We are entrusted with gifts, responsibilities, and the mysteries of God not for our own glory, but to lead others closer to Christ. The Gospel also reminds us that the new wine of Christ requires a new heart and a new mindset. Our traditions, practices, and responsibilities should ultimately help us grow in love, joy, and communion; not become sources of division. As servants and stewards of God, are we truly leading others to Christ?
Reflection Question: How do I serve others? Do I lead them closer to Christ or have I become more concerned with being served, recognised, or having things done my way?
