Shannon Green and Dewayne Bell Pt. 2
2026/10/01
July 6, 1986. Owensboro, Kentucky. 16-year old Shannon Green disappears after leaving her residence to visit a family friend. Days later, Shannon’s mother receives a phone call from someone calling himself “Dewayne”, who claims that he and Shannon ran away together to get married. Shortly thereafter, an 18-year old acquaintance of Shannon’s named David Dewayne Bell also goes missing. A man named John Reneer eventually provides the authorities with a tape of a recording in which Dewayne seemingly confesses to murder. Allegations surface that Dewayne killed Shannon and his father helped him cover the whole up, but if so, what actually happened to Dewayne? Could someone have been responsible for the disappearances of both victims? On this week’s episode of “The Path Went Chilly”, we explore a convoluted saga involving two unsolved missing persons cases from the same town and their alleged connection to each other. If you have any information about the featured cases, please contact the Owensboro Police Department at (270) 687-8888.

Amy Wroe Betchel Pt. Two
2026/09/17
July 24, 1997. Fremont County, Wyoming. After spending the day running errands, 24-year old Amy Wroe Bechtel never returns home and her abandoned car is discovered on a remote road in Shoshone National Forest. Even though he claims to have an alibi, Amy’s husband, Steve Bechtel, is looked at as a potential suspect by law enforcement, due to his unwillingness to take a polygraph test. However, the investigation eventually focuses on convicted murderer Dale Wayne Eaton, who was supposedly in the area when Amy went missing, but there is no evidence to implicate him and no trace of Amy is ever found. On this week’s episode of “The Path Went Chilly”, we explore the puzzling disappearance of Amy Wroe Bechtel, who has continued to remain a missing person for the past 26 years. If you have any information about this case, please contact the Fremont County Sheriff’s Office at (307) 332-5611.

Holly Staker Pt. Two
2026/09/03
August 17, 1992. Waukegan, Illinois. While babysitting two children, 11-year old Holly Staker is sexually assaulted and brutally murdered inside their apartment. Two months later, a suspect named Juan Rivera is brought in for questioning and confesses to the murder after four straight days of interrogation. He is subsequently convicted and receives a life sentence, but no physical evidence links Rivera to the crime and the veracity of his confession is called into question. After Rivera serves 19 years in prison, DNA evidence eventually links Holly’s death to another murder… but could another innocent person also be serving time in prison for that particular crime?

The latest episode in our Patreon Summer Sampler:
April 20, 1989. Circle, Montana. While driving on the wrong side of a rural highway, 37-year old Patricia Meehan gets into a collision with another car. After staring blankly at the vehicle’s driver, Patricia walks out onto the prairie and disappears. During the next few months, there would be numerous sightings of a disoriented-woman resembling Patricia. This leads to speculation that the trauma of the car crash caused Patricia to develop amnesia and forget who she was, but she is ultimately never found.

Debbie Race Pt. Two
2026/08/06
May 11, 1982. Duluth, Minnesota. 33-year old married couple Larry and Debbie Race celebrate their 14th wedding anniversary by taking their boat out onto Lake Superior for an evening cruise. Hours later, Larry returns to shore and calls for help, claiming that a leak prompted them to evacuate the boat in a life raft before they became separated. Debbie’s body is soon found washed up on shore and her cause of death is determined to be hypothermia. However, since the life raft cannot be found and there are a number of discrepancies in Larry’s story, authorities suspect foul play and eventually charge him with Debbie’s murder. Larry is convicted of the crime and receives a life sentence, but even after he is paroled 22 years later, Larry continues to maintain that Debbie’s death was an accident. Was Larry Race wrongly convicted for the nonexistent murder of his wife, or was justice properly served? This week's episode explores one of the most heavily debated “Final Appeal” cases featured on “Unsolved Mysteries”.
