Hey guys! It’s me, Ley. I’m so sorry for taking my long hiatus, but I’m back now! Today is going to be more so an episode about my personal life that I wanted to share with y'all. Is pretty long, so I broke it down into 2 episodes. This is part 2. In this 2 part episode series “Mommy Dearest”, I talk about my mom and her mental health issues. My mom has schizophrenia. And I basically talk about how her mental health issues have made her act out in a certain way towards me and other people around her, and even though I love her, her actions have hurt me in the past. I also talk about how her mental issues have affected me and our relationship, and the struggles of having a close family member that struggles with mental health problems. I also sympathize so much with people that have to deal with a loved one that suffers from mental illness. I still think she’s the greatest mom in the world though, she’s so dope! And we have an amazing and awesome relationship. But I just wanted to share this with you guys. I also talk about how I decided to set boundaries with my mom. And due to these boundaries, I decided to move out and being on my own much earlier than I originally expected. Hey guys!!! I'm so sorry this podcast is so long, but I had a lot of things to say lol! I'm sure you guys will enjoy this episode.  In this episode, I talk about cancel culture, and how toxic it is. I think cancel culture needs to be, well...cancelled.  I think cancel culture is dumb and I think its stupid to ruin lives over little mistakes. Having said that, I still think people should be held accountable for their actions if they do something wrong. But still, I think cancel culture is stupid and it doesn’t invite people to grow and learn from their mistakes. We as humans have all done things that are problematic too so who are we to judge celebrities for making mistakes that the average person makes. Cancel culture simply invokes shame and bashing as opposed to learning experiences and that’s not productive. Also, I think when it comes to cancelling and dragging certain celebrities, people are selective draggers and pick and choose who is or is not considered problematic. Even if two people have practically done the same problematic action, people only pick and choose one out of the two people to cancel.  People are contradicting with who does and does not get cancelled, and who is and is not forgiven for their past. Cancel culture is probably only fun or entertaining to some people because they are empty inside and feel the need to bully people but don’t want to feel bad for their bullying so they hide it behind a virtuous reason. Also, cancel culture doesn’t have much of an effect in real life, because there’s people that yall cancel that have still went on to have great and successful careers. I discuss things I hate about social media, including mob mentality, the toxic part of stan culture, people arguing over nothing, and everyone being forced to think the same way. I discuss what drove me to get social media, my interests in social media, my involvement in stan culture (and how it overtook my life at one point so I had to tone it down somewhat), and the annoying things I would experience while being on social media. Hey guys! In today’s episode of Ley’s Unpopular Opinions Podcast, I discuss the differences between preferences versus discrimination. This has been a very hot topic in the social justice warrior and “woke” communities for a while, and I wanted to give my opinions on it. I am pretty much in support of people having their preferences and I do not think that it is discrimination to have a preference. I think discrimination is when you disrespect someone or take away someone’s rights due to what that person looks like. But preferences just mean who you would and would not date. People can have whatever opinions and preferences they like, and its up to them to decide what is and is not their preference. Preferences are not discrimination to me. However, its not okay to be mean to people that are not your preference, or treat people like dirt if they are not your preference. Also, there are certain things that I think are weird or strange when it comes to preferences, like strict preferences and preferences that stem from unrealistic beauty standards, and more. I definitely touch up on that and give my thoughts on that as well. I like the problack movement because as black people, we deserve to get uplifted, especially after all the discrimination we face, but I am tired of people bashing other races under the guise of being “pro-black”. Hey guys! In this episode of todays podcast, I give my unpopular opinions on “cultural appropriation”, a topic that is big on social media today. I talk about what social media defines cultural appropriation to be, and why i disagree with why certain things are considered cultural appropriation. While i do acknowledge and discuss the discrimination that people of color face with their hair and cultures, i still think “cultural appropriation” is nonsense. People should be able to do what they want with their hair or participate in whatever culture, as long as they aren’t hurting anyone. I also think cultural appropriation is only considered a “bad thing” in America. I’ve noticed other cultures in other countries don’t have a problem with it. Lastly, I give my opinions on what I think cultural appropriation really is, and things that I think should not be considered offensive. Hey Guys! In this episode I give an introduction of myself, what to expect from this podcast, and the reasons as to why I wanted to start this podcast. The first reason includes seeing way too many sjw opinions that i honestly just disagreed with and had to speak out on. One of the sjw’s include my own sister, and I explain how and why I disagree with her over-the-top opinions!
