H.H. Holmes and The Murder Castle
2026/02/25
Send us Fan Mail At the height of the 1893 World’s Fair, Chicago dazzled the world with electricity, innovation, and the promise of a shining future. Just miles away from the White City, another structure quietly took shape — a building designed not to inspire wonder, but to erase people. This episode of Flat Circle traces the life and crimes of H. H. Holmes, a man who understood systems better than morals. A trained doctor, practiced con artist, and meticulous manipulator, Holmes used trust as camouflage — hiding fraud, violence, and murder behind the familiar comforts of a pharmacy and a hotel. We follow Holmes from medical school to Chicago’s South Side, through the architecture of the so-called “Murder Castle,” and into the lives of the women who knew him not as a monster, but as a lover, employer, or friend — including Julia Connor, whose quiet disappearance reveals more about Holmes than any sensational legend ever could. This is not a story about myth or exaggerated body counts. It’s a story about how cities forget, how institutions fail to look closely, and how evil often wears the face of professionalism, charm, and convenience. The Castle is gone. The man is dead. But the system that made him possible still feels uncomfortably familiar.
A House That Didn't Wake Up
2026/01/13
Send us Fan Mail In the early hours of December 30, 2025, a house in Columbus, Ohio did not wake up. Inside, Dr. Spencer Tepe, a local dentist, and his wife Monique Tepe were shot and killed. Their two young children were found alive inside the home. Nothing appeared to be stolen. No firearm was recovered. Police reported no signs of forced entry. Days later, an arrest was made in Illinois. Michael David McKee, a physician and Monique Tepe’s former husband, was taken into custody and later charged with aggravated murder.  Join me for this week's episode!
The Snowtown Killer's Vault: Barrels of the Damned
2025/11/26
Send us Fan Mail In 1999, police opened the door of a disused bank vault in Snowtown, South Australia… and found eight barrels filled with bodies. What they uncovered became one of the most disturbing criminal cases in modern history. In this episode, we go deeper than headlines ever dared: Who were the victims? How did four men build an invisible killing ring in a small town? What happened in that vault — and why did it go unnoticed for years? How did a terrified 19-year-old ultimately crack the case wide open? And why does Snowtown still carry a stain it can’t wash away?Explore the psychology, the method, the terror, and the legacy of the “Snowtown Killers.” This isn’t just true crime.  This is a descent into how evil hides in plain sight — and how ordinary lives become threads in a web they never saw coming. 🔗 Trigger Warning: Graphic violence, torture, murder, and psychological manipulation. Listener discretion strongly advised.
Thread of Red: The Highway's Forgotten Daughters
2025/08/06
Send us Fan Mail In the early 1980s, a silent predator stalked the highways of the American South—leaving behind a string of young women with red hair, brown eyes, and broken stories. They vanished from rest stops, truck stops, and quiet roadsides, only to reappear as Jane Does discarded off interstates. In this episode of Flat Circle, I unearth the twisted still officially unsolved case of the Redhead Murders, focusing the most prominent victims—Lisa Nichols and Tina Marie Farmer—and the disturbing patterns that link them. From psychological profiling and forensic roadmaps to online sleuth forums like Reddit and Websleuths, we dive deep into the eerie network of highways, predators, and silence. Who was the killer? Was it just one man—or a hidden community of truckers exchanging horrors over CB radios? Time loops. Patterns repeat. And the road always remembers.
Whispers in the Driftless: Two Vanish, One Question
2025/07/29
Send us Fan Mail Two young women. Two towns. Four days apart.  When 22-year-old graduate student Eliotte Heinz vanishes after a night out in La Crosse, her family launches a desperate search. But before the community can catch its breath, another disappearance rocks Wisconsin: Emma Jacob, 22, disappears in Platteville—only hours before she’s found dead near the Big M mound. Are these tragedies connected? Or chilling coincidences echoing Wisconsin’s dark history of mysterious vanishings? In this episode, we retrace the women’s last known steps, dive into haunting past cases, and reveal the online sleuth theories lighting up Reddit and Twitter. From eerie riverside disappearances to whispers of a predator, join us as we explore one terrifying question: Who’s watching when the Driftless goes dark? Stay tuned until the end for a chilling reflection that will leave you questioning the quiet roads you walk at night.
Blood in the Snow: The Black Donnellys
2025/07/22
Send us Fan Mail On a freezing night in 1880, the rural town of Lucan, Ontario, erupted into chaos. A mob of fifty men—neighbors, farmers, pillars of the community—marched to the Donnelly homestead with vengeance in their hearts. What followed was one of the bloodiest massacres in Canadian history: a family slaughtered, their home burned to the ground, and an entire town complicit in the crime. In this episode of The Flat Circle Podcast, we unravel the twisted tale of mob justice, small-town secrets, and the lingering question: how do you convict an entire community?
Keddie28: The Cabin Murders That Still Haunt California
2025/07/18
Send us Fan Mail In April 1981, a quiet mountain town in Northern California became the stage for one of the most brutal and mysterious unsolved crimes in American history. Inside Cabin 28 in Keddie, three people were slaughtered—and a 12-year-old girl vanished into the night. The crime scene? A nightmare of blood, rage, and silence. The investigation? Botched. Evidence lost. Suspects overlooked. And whispers of a confession that was never prosecuted. Join me - Kellie on The Flat Circle Podcast as we pull back the curtain on the Keddie Cabin Murders—a story where obsession turned deadly, law enforcement failed, and the echoes of that night still haunt the pines of Plumas County.
