Hard Spring Carp Fishing | Cold Nights, Easterly Winds & a 24lb Reward
2026/08/31
Trip 17 Carp Fishing - 2026Welcome back to another fishing adventure. This was never going to be an easy session. With strong easterly winds, high pressure, bright days, and near-frosty nights, the odds were stacked against me from the start. After a slow beginning and a tough decision to move swims, things finally turned around on the bottom lake.A tricky trip, plenty of thinking, and a reminder that sometimes it’s about sticking it out and adapting.A small common kicked things off… followed by a proper reward in the early hours.24lb 12oz CommonAnd one very hard-earned result. It’s not always about the size—it’s about the journey. Thanks for watching.
TRUSTING MY INSTINCTS | Back at Meadow Lake – Perfect Conditions But No Carp!
2026/08/20
Trip 23 Carp Fishing - 2026This week I was supposed to be fishing Airfield Lake, but something told me to take one last look at Meadow on the way through. The lake looked right, the weather conditions were spot on, and my favourite swim was available, so the decision was made. Armed with a mix of Nutrabaits Big Fish Mix, Jurassic Particles and the new EnerGize Corkie Wafters, confidence was high. Carp were showing, the conditions looked perfect, but would my instincts pay off? Join me for another honest session on the bank where hope is always the last thing to leave.

2026/08/14
Trip 13 Carp FishingWelcome back to another fishing adventure. The clock is ticking on Meadow Lake, and with just two nights left before closure, I set out to make it count. Faced with brutal high pressure, cold northerly winds, and a lake that had all but switched off, this was never going to be easy. With a simple but proven baiting approach and plenty of watercraft, it became a test of patience, decision-making, and belief. Would a last-minute bite save the session, or was this one destined to be a blank? Join me as I grind it out to the very end.Tight lines and be lucky!

2026/08/09
Trip 19 Carp Fishing - 2026Welcome back to another fishing adventure. Another challenging session down on Airfield Lake with cold northerly winds, dropping temperatures, and still no signs of spawning carp. Despite tough conditions, a change of approach with EnerGize hookbaits, particle mixes, and small PVA mesh bags produced a hard-fighting 25lb 13oz common during the first night. In this session, I talk through swim choices, adapting to fish movement, margin tactics, and the importance of learning a swim properly when the carp aren’t playing ball.Tight lines and be lucky!
Brutal Westerlies & Tough Conditions | Airfield Lake Session Struggles 🎣💨
2026/08/07
Welcome back to another fishing adventure. A tough few days on Airfield Lake battling cold westerly winds, dropping temperatures, and carp clearly holding off before the spawn. Despite careful swim selection, a strong baiting approach with Co-De soaked boilies, and constant tweaks throughout the session, the bites just didn’t come. Sometimes you can do everything right and still come up short — but that’s fishing. A session full of lessons, patience, and appreciation for being out on the bank.Tight lines and be lucky!

Stormy Conditions, Hard-Fought Carp & an Unexpected Pike | Airfield Lake Session
2026/08/04
Trip 21 Carp Fishing - 2026 After a couple of weeks away from the bank, I returned to Airfield Lake just as strong winds, heavy rain, and low pressure swept across the South Coast. With gusts reaching 40mph and fresh water pouring into the lake, the conditions looked absolutely perfect. What followed was a session full of highs and lows, including a lost fish in the snags, a surprise 11lb 7oz pike, an aborted take, and two hard-earned common carp after more than 40 hours of waiting. Sometimes the conditions look spot on, but the carp have other ideas...
JUNE CARP FISHING FRUSTRATIONS! Should I Stay or Move Swim?
2026/08/02
Trip 22 Carp Fishing Welcome back to another fishing adventure. The weather looked absolutely perfect – strong south-westerly winds, heavy rain showers, and plenty of carp showing. Yet, after arriving at the lake full of confidence, I found myself facing one of the toughest questions in carp fishing: do I stay put, move swims, or simply accept that June can be brutally hard? Over three days, I searched for answers, adjusted spots, followed showing fish, and questioned everything I thought I knew. Join me as I share another honest session on the bank, where sometimes the challenge is just as rewarding as the capture.

2026/08/01
Trip 9 Carp Fishing - 2026Welcome back to another fishing adventure. After a few quiet and chilly days on the bank, persistence finally paid off. Fishing a small bay that I felt had to produce, I stuck with the plan despite cold easterly winds, disappearing sunshine, and very little sign of carp. Three nights later, at 04:03 in the morning, the left-hand rod finally came alive… resulting in a stunning 37lb 2oz common carp. A session that proves sometimes it’s all about trusting your gut and staying patient.Tight lines and be lucky!

Bank Holiday Pressure Carp Fishing ,Club Lake Session | PVA Bag Tactics Pay Off
2026/07/23
Trip 14 Carp Fishing - 2026Welcome back to another fishing adventure. With Airfield Lake under heavy Bank Holiday pressure and three nights of bait already in the water, I took a calculated approach—arriving late and keeping things tight with Godman Angling 25mm mesh bags. In tricky, ever-changing conditions, it turned into a patience game, with bites coming under the cover of darkness. A session full of lessons, lost chances, and a couple of quality commons on the bank—this is real carp fishing when the odds are stacked against you.
Early Spring Carp Fishing Blank | Full Moon, Sunshine & Hard Decisions
2026/07/19
Trip 7 Carp Fishing - 2026Welcome back to another fishing adventure. My original plan had been to arrive on Monday morning and settle in for four uninterrupted nights. But with my wife due at the dentist on Wednesday afternoon — and knowing how much she dislikes those appointments — it felt only right to be there for support. Add in the need to squeeze a day’s work in, and with a settled spell of sunshine forecast all week, the decision became straightforward. I’d fish early in the week and reassess from there.Atmospheric pressure had been fluctuating, nothing dramatic but certainly unsettled enough to make you think. Still, four consecutive days of sunshine at this time of year should, in theory, stimulate a bit of movement. The wind, however, couldn’t make its mind up — swinging around from one quarter to another — which made location less obvious.

First Carp of March! Cold Weather Session Produces a 25lb Mirror
2026/07/12
Welcome back to another fishing adventure. After a less-than-successful trip earlier in the week — largely due to factors beyond my control — I felt the need to get myself back down to the lake and reset things a bit. This time, though, I decided to avoid the syndicate water and head to the club lake instead. The plan was simple. Arrive at 0700 hrs, the earliest time you’re allowed on the water, have a good look around, hopefully spot a carp or two, and get set up quickly. Ideally, I wanted to nick a bite before 1100 hrs, as that seems to be the window when the fish are most active. After that they often appear to switch off until mid-afternoon, usually somewhere around 1430 hrs. There’s a handy vantage point on arrival where you can stand and scan most of the lake before committing to pushing the barrow in either direction. I’d barely been there a minute when two carp crashed out in open water. That was enough confirmation for me — I grabbed the barrow and headed straight for a swim that had already produced on a couple of my recent day sessions.Tight lines and be lucky!
