John continues is the fourth homily of this series reminding all of us that in order to do the impossible---Jesus must be our best friend.  We need to give the Lord our hearts and trust Him like we do our close personal friends.  St. Peter makes a profession of faith in the gospel this weekend that comes from a heart that knows and loves Christ.  May we respond like Peter did---not only in words, but in actions each day!

The Canaanite woman is persistent and consisten in seeking Christ's mercy for her daughter.  This reminds us to be vigilent and persevering in asking what we truly need from the Lord in our lives.  This involves us sifting and filtering what we want versus what we need.

This weekend Jesus calls Peter to step out of the boat and walk on water towards Him---making the impossible possible can happen when we have the courage to step out of our comfort zone and keep our eyes fixed on Christ alone.  Yet when the winds of distraction take hold, and we start sinking---we simply need to cry out -- LORD SAVE ME!
