This week, in a solo episode, Jen tackles the concepts of surrender vs. trust. She unpacks what those words mean in her own life, how she has been applying them to her life and biz practices and looking at certain idiomatic phrases in English that use the words. Phrases such as “surrender to the process” or “just trust” tend to over-simplify our relationship with these words. But what does that really mean? And how can looking closely at your relationship with these words improve your life?

We are conditioned to focus on the outcome, not the process. We avoid discomfort at all costs - so it’s easier to numb ourselves to these things than actually look at them. In this episode Jen + Jane discuss the Mental Load that women carry, often by choice, when it comes to the home, minding family, and letting loved ones fail. This involves ‘letting go’. But it’s often not as simple as that. In this last of the series exploring Fierce Serenity through the lens of different bodies, Jen and Jane share their experience with their own unfolding spiritual practices, looking at where the spiritual body practices are connected to the physical, mental, and emotional bodies, and how they are taking an even closer look at the language around the capitalist spirituality industry, sharing where they have to apply their own Fierce Serenity to the work they do. They also talk about how simple, day-to-day practices such as listening to the birds, being out in nature, and eating with presence and mindfulness are straightforward ways to grow your own spiritual practice. What does Fierce Serenity in your physical world mean? In this episode Jen and Jane open up and share practices to tune into and work with your physical energy. Our day to day lives frequently ask us to rush around, in our heads, over-thinking, not able to BE, fully in our bodies and our environment. Yes, a meditation practice can help, but if your mind is running fast, how can you be present with your body? Jane and Jen unpack personal experiences that illustrate how our daily lives full of meetings, driving places, and socializing can contribute to feelings disconnected from our physical selves. Last week we covered Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) with our guest Adele Anderson. Adele is an NLP Trainer and life coach who had a Near-Death-Experience (NDE) at age 27. Her recovery and exploration of the experience led her to the study and practice of NLP. Her current focus is working with clients who have suffered loss and who are ready to re-define their relationship with grief.
