Narcissistic Abuse: When Love and Chaos Feel the Same
2026/10/28
What happens when the relationships that feel most familiar are the very ones hurting you? Randi Fine grew up believing that chaos, conflict, and love belonged together. Those early experiences followed her into adulthood, shaping the relationships she chose and the behavior she accepted. In this episode of Aging With Purpose and Passion, Beverley Glazer talks with Randi, an author and narcissistic abuse recovery coach, about emotional manipulation, codependency, gaslighting, and why unhealthy relationship patterns can be so difficult to break. Randi shares what it took to leave a dangerous marriage with a newborn, return to the family environment she'd struggled to escape, and eventually build a more stable life. But there's another turning point in her story. In her 50s, with her youngest child leaving for college, Randi realized she wanted something for herself. She had no college degree, didn't believe she could write, and couldn't imagine building a career from her experiences. She went on to write four books and become an internationally recognized coach helping people recover from narcissistic abuse. Together, we explore why familiar patterns can feel like love, how emotional abuse affects self-trust, the importance of boundaries, and what happens when a woman begins questioning the limits she's placed on herself. For women over 50 who have spent years taking care of everyone this conversation asks the question: What might be possible when you  start believing in yourself too? Reinvention After 50: The Price of Playing It Safe
2026/10/21
What if the safest decision you could make is also the one keeping you stuck? You've worked hard to build a career, earn respect, and make smart decisions. So why, when something no longer feels right, is it so difficult to change? For accomplished women over 50, changing direction can mean risking more than a pay-check. It can mean questioning the identity you've spent decades building. On Aging With Purpose and Passion, I sit down with Alma Derricks, a business builder and strategic advisor whose career has taken her through NBC, HBO, the early internet, and Cirque du Soleil. Alma has spent decades navigating change, making difficult decisions, and challenging the way organizations think. And she's learned something that applies far beyond business: People say they want change, but often resist the discomfort that comes with it. We talk about why capable women hesitate to take risks, how the need for approval can quietly shape our decisions, and why being experienced doesn't make us immune to the fear of looking inexperienced. Alma also shares what happened during a private equity acquisition at Cirque du Soleil, when she had to defend her judgment, her team, and a brand under pressure. And we explore a practical idea you can use yourself: creating a personal board of directors—people who help you recognize your strengths, challenge your thinking, and make decisions with greater confidence. I'm Beverley Glazer, a work and life transition coach, and I know how often women reach a point where the life they've worked so hard to build no longer fits who they're becoming. If you've been telling yourself to be grateful for what you have while privately wondering whether you want something different, this conversation is for you. Because the question isn't whether you've been successful. It's whether your definition of success still belongs to you. Reinvention After 50: When Your Success Defines You
2026/10/14
What happens when the role that made you successful becomes the very thing you can't escape? For nine years, Judy Norton was Mary Ellen Walton on the Emmy Award-winning television series The Waltons. Millions of viewers welcomed her into their homes. But when the series ended, the character people loved didn't simply disappear. And neither did their expectations of who Judy should be. In this episode of Aging With Purpose and Passion, Beverley Glazer, MA, CCC, ICF, a work and life transition coach for accomplished women over 50, talks with Judy Norton about life after The Waltons, Hollywood typecasting, career reinvention, and what happens to your sense of identity when the world keeps defining you by your past. How do you move forward when people refuse to see you differently? Judy shares the uncertainty of building a career beyond a defining role, the challenge of rebuilding confidence when opportunities are limited, and how she continued creating through theater, music, writing, and directing. She also talks about the personal work she did to understand herself beyond Mary Ellen Walton, including her experience with Dianetics. And when COVID disrupted familiar ways of working, Judy found herself learning something she hadn't expected: digital marketing. That led to building a YouTube channel and connecting with an audience in a different way. But this conversation reaches far beyond Hollywood. Because what Judy experienced is something many accomplished women over 50 recognize. You leave a career, but people still see your former title. Your children grow up, but everyone still expects you to be the person who takes care of everything. You change what you want from life, but the people around you are more comfortable with who you've always been. Sometimes the hardest part of reinvention isn't changing your life. It's allowing yourself to change when everyone else expects you to stay the same. Whether you're navigating a career transition after 50, questioning your professional identity, or wondering who you are beyond the roles that once defined you, Judy's story raises a question that deserves more than an easy answer. Are you holding on to who you used to be—or are you afraid of disappointing the people who still need you to be that person? Stay until the end for Beverley's key takeaways and practical actions to help you recognize what's changing in your own life and decide what comes next. Reinvention After 50: What Comes After the Career?
2026/10/07
Leaving a 17-year career, losing an identity, and finding an unexpected way forward. You can spend years becoming very good at what you do—and be completely unprepared for the day you stop doing it. That’s what happened to Annette Mashi. After 17 years at Intel, leaving wasn’t simply a career change. Her work had become part of how she knew herself. So what happens when it’s gone? In this episode of Aging With Purpose and Passion, Beverley Glazer talks with Annette Mashi, founder of Write Wizards, about career reinvention after 50, identity, starting over, and the uncomfortable period when you don’t yet know what comes next. Annette already knew something about starting over. Years earlier, she had moved from suburban Philadelphia to Israel with her husband and young daughter. She had to find her footing in a different country, culture, and language, far from the people and places that had always felt like home. Then came another kind of starting over. She left Intel. She thought she’d teach English. Six days later, that idea was over. And that’s where Annette’s story gets interesting. Because we tend to tell reinvention stories backwards. Once we know where someone ended up, every earlier decision looks like a step toward it. It wasn’t. Annette didn’t know she would eventually build a writing business. She didn’t know the architecture degree she’d earned years earlier would matter again. And she didn’t know that skills she had accumulated almost without noticing—explaining, simplifying, documenting, writing—would eventually come together in a completely different way. She discovered that by doing things. Including things that didn’t work. Today, Annette is the founder of Write Wizards, where she helps female architects, interior designers, and women in construction become more visible for their expertise and attract the clients and projects they want. But this conversation isn’t really about building a business. It’s about what happens before you know where you’re going. When the career has ended—or you know it’s time to leave—and everyone wants to know what you’re going to do next. And you don’t know yet. IN THIS EPISODE What happens to your identity when a long career endsHow to navigate career change after 50 when you don’t know what’s nextWhy leaving a successful career can affect confidence and sense of selfStarting over after 50 without having a new career planHow to recognize transferable skills you may be overlookingWhy your first attempt at reinvention doesn’t have to workHow past experience can become useful in unexpected waysMoving from a corporate career to entrepreneurship after 50Rebuilding belonging after moving to a new countryHow experimentation can help you find direction during a major life transitionStay until the end, when Beverley shares key takeaways and practical actions you can begin using immediately. Life After Loss: Who Are You Now? | Rosemary Vaswani
2026/09/30
Landman actress Rosemary Dominguez (Rosemary Vaswani) on widowhood, sudden loss, identity, grief, and finding a way to want something from life again. What happens when the future you were counting on suddenly disappears—and you’re still here? For women over 50, a devastating loss can take more than someone you love. It can take the future you expected to share, the roles that made life feel familiar, and even your confidence in who you are without them. In this episode of Aging With Purpose and Passion, Beverley Glazer talks with actress, writer, and storyteller Rosemary Vaswani, known professionally as Rosemary Dominguez, who appears in the Paramount+ series Landman. Rosemary and her husband, Eric, had been together for 26 years when vague symptoms became something neither of them could have imagined. Within weeks, Rosemary went from wife and mother to caregiver, and then widow, after Eric was diagnosed with Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease (CJD), a rare and rapidly progressive neurological disease. There was no time to prepare for what came next. Rosemary was grieving while raising their teenage daughter, managing responsibilities that had once belonged to two people, and trying to function in a world that continued as though hers hadn't just changed completely. We talk about the parts of widowhood people rarely see: the paperwork and practical decisions, but also the anger, fear, loneliness, loss of confidence, and those ordinary moments when the absence of the person you love becomes startlingly real. And then life asks something else of you. Not simply: How do I survive this? But: Who am I now? Rosemary talks candidly about grief, caregiving, motherhood, empty nest, acting, and the unexpected role writing played when words became a place to put what she couldn't carry quietly anymore. That writing eventually became When I Press Stop: A Memoir of Loss, her memoir told through poetry. But this conversation isn't about “moving on.” It's about living after the life you expected is no longer possible. It's about what happens when resilience isn't inspirational or heroic. Sometimes it's paying the bill, showing up for your child, going back to work, asking for help—or simply doing the next thing because there is no one else to do it. And eventually, another question emerges: How do you keep wanting things from life after life has taken something irreplaceable from you? Stay until the end, when Beverley shares key takeaways and practical actions you can begin using immediately. Reinvention After 50: Stop Proving Your Worth
2026/09/23
People pleasing, burnout, somatic leadership, nervous system regulation, and what changes when high-achieving women stop performing for approval. You can spend years becoming the woman everyone admires—and quietly wonder how much of her is actually you. For high-achieving women over 50, success can hide something uncomfortable: the habits that helped you achieve, belong, and earn approval may also have taught you to perform. In this episode of Aging With Purpose and Passion, Beverley Glazer talks with Trina Kavanagh Thomas, award-winning leadership coach and founder of the Somatic Leadership Group, about what happens when achievement, people pleasing, and the need to belong become so familiar that you don't realize you're wearing a mask. Trina built a thriving fitness business and looked successful from the outside. Inside, she was exhausted and anxious. Beneath the achievement was an old feeling of not being chosen—and a pattern of seeking approval, attention, and belonging that followed her into adulthood. We talk about why accomplished women can become exceptionally good at saying “I'm fine” when something is clearly missing, and how the need to prove your worth can show up in business, leadership, body image, relationships, and social media. Trina also speaks candidly about sobriety and the small, steady decisions that began changing her relationship with herself. But choosing yourself isn't about walking away from your responsibilities or putting yourself ahead of everyone else. It's about noticing where you're performing instead of choosing. That's where Trina's work in somatic leadership becomes practical. She explains how old emotional patterns can continue influencing the nervous system, why the body may react before the rational mind catches up, and how awareness can create space between an automatic response and a different choice. We explore burnout recovery, nervous system regulation, imposter syndrome, people pleasing, boundaries, and what it means to stop organizing your life around other people's approval. At some point, proving yourself stops being ambition. It becomes a way of organizing your life around what other people think. And after decades of being capable, productive, and dependable, that can leave you with a surprisingly difficult question: If I stopped trying to prove who I am, what would I actually choose? Stay until the end, when Beverley shares key takeaways and practical actions you can begin using immediately. IN THIS EPISODE Why high-achieving women can still struggle with self-worthHow people pleasing becomes a strategy for belongingWhat burnout can look like when you still appear successfulWhy “I'm fine” becomes a mask for capable womenHow to stop seeking approval and start trusting your own choicesWhat somatic leadership means in everyday lifeHow nervous system regulation affects stress and decision-makingWhy old emotional patterns can influence present behaviorHow sobriety changed Trina's relationship with herselfPractical ways to set boundaries and stop proving your worthFor similar episodes on reinvention after success, check out Success, Burnout, and What Really Matters, that's episode 184. Betrayal After 50: When You Stop Trusting Yourself | Lora Cheadle
2026/09/16
Infidelity, self-blame, empty nest, reconciliation, and rebuilding self-trust when the life you believed in suddenly changes. What happens when someone else’s betrayal makes you question yourself? For women over 50, infidelity can hit at a time when so much is already changing. Children are leaving home. Your body may be changing. The roles that defined you for years are shifting. And suddenly, one discovery can make you question not only your relationship—but your own judgment. In this episode of Aging With Purpose and Passion, Beverley Glazer talks with Lora Cheadle, JD, CHt, betrayal recovery expert, attorney, somatic attachment therapist, clinical hypnotherapist, TEDx speaker, and author of It’s Not Burnout, It’s Betrayal. Just as her youngest was preparing to leave for college, Lora discovered that her husband had been unfaithful for 15 years. What followed wasn't simply anger or heartbreak. There was shock. Evidence to piece together. Self-blame. And the devastating question so many women ask after betrayal: “How could I not have known?” We talk about why betrayal trauma can make even the most capable woman doubt herself, why high-achieving women are so good at performing “I’ve got this” when they’re falling apart, and what happens when you can no longer trust the story you believed about your life. Lora also speaks openly about separation and her eventual decision to reconcile—a choice that brought its own questions and judgment. Without excusing the harm caused by infidelity, she explains how unresolved trauma can contribute to destructive coping, what her husband had to confront in himself, and why reconciliation required them to build something different rather than return to the marriage they had before. But perhaps the most important question wasn't: “Can I trust him again?” It was: “Can I trust myself again?” Because after betrayal, everyone may have an opinion about what you should do. Stay. Leave. Forgive. Don't forgive. But you're the one who has to live with the decision. This conversation is really about what happens after trust breaks—when you have to decide what you believe, what you want, and whether you're willing to trust yourself again. Stay until the end, when Beverley shares key takeaways and practical actions you can begin using immediately. Reinvention After 50: When You Can’t Keep Pushing | Dana Hilmer
2026/09/09
Rethinking success, retirement, identity, and what happens when life forces you to change the pace. You can be very good at the life you’ve built and still know you don’t want to keep living it the same way. For many high-achieving women over 50, the hardest transition isn’t leaving a career or approaching retirement. It’s realizing that the drive, productivity, and determination that got you this far may not be what you need now. In this episode of Aging With Purpose and Passion, Beverley Glazer talks with Dana Hilmer, happiness and midlife transitions expert, unretirement coach, and founder of Wiser and Free, about what happens when your old definition of success no longer works. Dana spent years believing that if she worked hard enough, achieved enough, and kept pushing, she would eventually arrive at the life she was supposed to want. But reaching that version of success brought an unexpected realization: it wasn’t enough to look successful from the outside. Her life had to feel right to her. We talk about perfectionism, people pleasing, the persistent feeling of “not good enough,” and why accomplished women can become so identified with what they do that it becomes difficult to ask a much simpler question: How do I actually want to live? Dana shares her “compass point” approach—using how you want to feel about your life as a filter for decisions about work, relationships, purpose, and pace. We also explore unretirement and why leaving a full-time career doesn’t have to mean leaving meaningful work behind. For some women, what comes next may include part-time work, entrepreneurship, creative projects, volunteering, or simply more freedom to decide where their energy goes. Then Dana’s own life forced these ideas off the page. While caring for her father as his Alzheimer’s progressed, a frightening incident was followed by serious physical symptoms and a diagnosis of functional neurological disorder (FND). Dana had always been someone who pushed through. Now she was learning that sometimes the work isn’t to push through at all. It’s to be with what is—and decide from there. This is a conversation about ambition, identity, retirement, caregiving, health, and redefining success when life doesn’t go according to plan. Because the question after 50 isn’t simply, “What am I going to do next?” It’s “How do I want to experience the life I have now?” Stay until the end, when Beverley shares key takeaways and practical actions you can begin using immediately. When the Story You Believed Isn’t the Whole Story | Yvonne F. Conte
2026/09/02
Family secrets, forgiveness, retirement, and what changes when you see your past with new eyes after 50. What if something you learned after 50 changed the way you understood your family—and yourself? For decades, Yvonne F. Conte believed she knew the story of her childhood. Then one photograph and two documents revealed information she had never known. Nothing about the past changed. But the meaning of it did. In this episode of Aging With Purpose and Passion, Beverley Glazer sits down with the nationally recognized keynote speaker and bestselling author of Beneath Her Smile for a conversation about family secrets, memory, forgiveness, reinvention, and the perspective that can come later in life. Yvonne takes us back to childhood, where humor first became a way to get attention, connect, and feel seen. That instinct would follow her through rebellious teenage years, marriage, divorce, single motherhood, sales, job loss, and an unexpected career reinvention that eventually put her on stages across the country. Then came another transition. After decades of speaking, retirement left Yvonne with more time—but not enough purpose. Writing her memoir brought her back to old memories and forced her to reconsider assumptions she had carried about her parents for most of her life. This conversation is not about pretending painful experiences didn’t matter. It is about what can happen when you finally have enough distance, experience, and information to understand them differently. Beverley and Yvonne explore what it means to revisit the past without becoming trapped in it, how family stories shape identity, why forgiveness is not the same as excusing what happened, and how purpose after 50 can emerge in ways you never expected. For women over 50, there is a deeper question underneath Yvonne’s story: What have you believed about your past simply because it was the only version you knew? Sometimes the facts remain exactly the same. What changes is the way you carry them. Stay until the end, when Beverley shares key takeaways and practical actions you can begin using immediately. Reinvention After 50: Stop Proving Your Worth
2026/08/26
Kim Boudreau Smith on confidence, self-worth, career reinvention, visibility, leadership, and using decades of experience without constantly proving yourself. What if you’ve spent years proving your value—and no longer need to? You’ve built experience, solved difficult problems, taken risks, and learned things no résumé can fully capture. Yet even highly capable women can find their confidence rising and falling with income, recognition, job titles, or whether other people approve of what they’re doing. In this episode of Aging With Purpose and Passion, Beverley Glazer speaks with Kim Boudreau Smith, founder of Her Bold Voice and a Business Growth Strategist, about what changes when women stop measuring their worth by how much they produce—and start trusting the value of what they already know. Kim’s path has never been conventional. She moved from corporate sales and marketing into entrepreneurship, built a successful fitness business, pioneered internet radio before podcasting was mainstream, published three Amazon bestselling anthologies, and has spent decades helping women become more visible and influential in their work. But beneath those accomplishments is a more personal story about confidence, risk, comparison, and the pressure to keep proving yourself. Kim talks candidly about growing up in a working-class family where hard work and security mattered, the peaks and valleys of entrepreneurship, and what happens when business results begin affecting how you feel about yourself. Beverley and Kim also explore the critical inner voice Kim calls “the hag in the attic,” why experienced women still underestimate their value, and the difference between running everything yourself and actually leading. For women building businesses or continuing meaningful careers after 50, they discuss delegation, visibility, thought leadership, comparison with younger women, ageism, and why experience becomes more powerful when you stop trying to be everything to everyone. But this conversation goes beyond business. If you’ve spent years achieving, producing, and proving what you can do, this conversation raises a different question: After everything you’ve already accomplished, what would change if you stopped needing to prove your worth? Stay until the end, when Beverley shares key takeaways and practical actions you can begin using immediately. In this episode:How to stop tying your self-worth to income and achievementWhy successful women still struggle with confidence after 50Making the transition from corporate career to entrepreneurshipHow to stop playing small when you have decades of experienceMoving from running everything yourself to becoming a stronger leaderHow delegation protects your time, energy, and business growthBuilding visibility and thought leadership after 50Dealing with comparison and the critical voice in your headHow women over 50 can use experience as a professional advantageDeciding what you really want from work at this stage of lifeFor similar episodes on owning your power, check out When Success No Longer Fits. 182 and Success, Burnout, and What Really Matters Episode 184 of Aging with Purpose and Passion. When Life Asks More Than You Ever Thought You Could Give
2026/08/19
What happens when life asks more of you than you ever imagined you could give? You’ve spent years being capable, solving problems, and being there when people need you. But some things can’t be fixed, planned for, or powered through. Sometimes life changes in an instant—and you become the person everyone is counting on. That’s what happened to Diane Filato. Just weeks after the birth of Diane’s grandson, her daughter began experiencing unexplained symptoms. Then came the diagnosis no family was prepared for: ALS. Suddenly, Diane was facing the unimaginable—watching her daughter’s health decline while preparing to take on a role she never expected: raising her young grandson. In this episode of Aging With Purpose and Passion, Diane shares what happens when grief and responsibility arrive at the same time. She talks candidly about the physical and emotional realities of caregiving, becoming a parent again later in life, helping a child feel safe after losing his mother, and carrying your own grief while trying to be strong for someone else. For women who are accustomed to being the capable one—the person everyone relies on—Diane’s story raises a difficult question: What do you do when life asks more of you than you believe you can give? We talk about the comments grieving families wish people wouldn’t make, why there is no timetable for “moving on,” and how memory, humour, boundaries, and ordinary routines can help create stability when a family’s world has been changed forever. Diane also shares the difference Good Grief made for her family. This community-based grief support program brings grieving children and adults together with people who understand their experience. Diane explains why peer grief support can feel very different from therapy, how children process the death of a parent, and why having a place to speak honestly—without judgment or unsolicited advice—can be so powerful. Whether you are caring for someone you love, grieving a loss, supporting a child through bereavement, taking on an unexpected family responsibility, or simply facing circumstances you never thought would be yours, Diane’s story is about something much larger than tragedy. It is about how you keep showing up when there is no way to make everything okay. Stay until the end, when Beverley shares key takeaways and practical actions you can begin using immediately. Dementia Caregiving: When Is It Time for Memory Care?
2026/08/12
Jeannie Duckworth on caregiver guilt, dementia warning signs, memory care, senior living, and making difficult decisions before a crisis forces them. How do you know when keeping an aging parent at home is no longer the safest—or most loving—choice? For many high achieving women, that question comes with enormous guilt. You promised you'd be there. You want your parent to remain independent. And every new problem can seem manageable—until wandering, falls, medication mistakes, dementia, or caregiver exhaustion changes everything. In this episode of Aging With Purpose and Passion, Beverley Glazer speaks with Jeannie Duckworth, founder and CEO of Blue Magnolia Senior Living Advisors, about one of the most difficult transitions families face: recognizing when an aging parent needs more care than the family can safely provide. Jeannie has guided thousands of families through senior living decisions, but her understanding of caregiving also comes from personal experience with caregiving, loss, and rebuilding her own life. Together, Beverley and Jeannie explore the early signs of dementia families often explain away, what can signal that living at home is becoming unsafe, and why moving someone into memory care does not necessarily mean you've abandoned them. Sometimes a specialized setting can provide attention, structure, safety, and support that even the most devoted family cannot provide around the clock. They also discuss caregiver burnout and guilt, the differences between independent living, assisted living, board-and-care homes, and memory care, and why families are better served when these conversations happen before an emergency. Jeannie shares practical areas to address early, including advance directives, medication lists, finances, CPR preferences, and—most importantly—what good care means to the person you love. You'll also hear about caregiver support groups, Alzheimer's resources, and financial assistance that some families may qualify for, including Veterans Aid and Attendance depending on eligibility. If you're caring for an aging parent while also managing your career, family, health, and your own future, this conversation is a reminder that needing help does not mean you stopped caring. The goal isn't to prove how much you can carry. It's to make the best decision you can for everyone involved. Stay until the end, when Beverley shares key takeaways and practical actions you can begin using immediately. Reinvention After 50: When Success Doesn’t Feel Like Yours
2026/08/05
Barb Scala on burnout, people-pleasing, identity, golden handcuffs, and redefining success without blowing up your life. What happens when the successful life everyone admires no longer feels like your own? You followed the rules. Earned the credentials. Built the career. Took care of the people who depended on you. From the outside, everything looks right. Inside, you may be exhausted from performing a version of success that was shaped by someone else’s expectations. In this episode of Aging With Purpose and Passion, Beverley Glazer speaks with Barb Scala, an attorney, mediator, entrepreneur, author, and creator of the Seeds for Success™ framework, about what happens when achievement no longer brings fulfillment—and how to make meaningful changes without dismantling your entire life. Barb shares the mixed messages about success that shaped her early choices, why she remained in law school even when she wanted to leave, and how divorce forced her to confront an identity built around being capable, positive, and pleasing to others. Her story will resonate with high-achieving women over 50 who have done everything “right” but still feel burned out, disconnected, or uncertain about who they are beyond their professional and personal roles. Beverley and Barb explore the pull of the golden handcuffs—the income, status, and security that can make an unfulfilling life difficult to leave. They also discuss why financial well-being cannot be separated from emotional, physical, and spiritual well-being, and how thoughtful planning, a safety net, and small deliberate steps can make change possible without an impulsive leap. Barb also introduces her BLOOM framework: Believe, Let Go, Own Your Value, Optimize Your Energy, and Manifest. Here, manifesting is not wishful thinking. It is aligned, intentional action grounded in self-worth, clarity, and personal responsibility. If everyone thinks you have it all together—but privately you wonder whether the life you are living is truly yours—this conversation will help you examine what still belongs, what no longer serves you, and how to redefine success on your own terms. Stay until the end, when Beverley shares key takeaways and practical actions you can begin using immediately. Reinvention After 50: You've Built the Life—Now What?
2026/07/22
Laura Rotter on financial confidence, purpose, career transitions, and building a life that reflects who you've become. What happens when you've built a successful life—but quietly wonder if it still fits who you are today? You've worked hard. Built the career. Earned the respect. Created financial security. From the outside, everything looks successful. Inside, something feels different. If you're a high-performing woman over 50 navigating a career transition, retirement, divorce, or simply asking, "What's next?" this conversation is for you. In this episode of Aging With Purpose and Passion, I sit down with Laura Rotter, founder of True Abundance Advisors and former Wall Street investment executive, to explore what happens when external success no longer reflects your inner values—and why that realization can become the beginning of a more meaningful life. Laura shares how growing up with financial uncertainty fueled her determination to become financially independent, why Wall Street once felt like the perfect intellectual challenge, and how the industry's changing culture slowly left her feeling disconnected from work she once loved. What began as quiet dissatisfaction eventually became impossible to ignore. Mindfulness, yoga, and deep self-reflection helped Laura reconnect with her own voice. Then an unexpected layoff gave her the opportunity she hadn't been willing to give herself—to build a business aligned with her values instead of someone else's definition of success. Together we explore: • Why success can stop feeling fulfilling—even when everything looks good on paper • How to know when you've outgrown the life you've built • Reinvention after 50 and navigating major life transitions • Retirement planning that supports the life you actually want • Divorce, financial confidence, and reclaiming your independence • Why organizing your finances is an act of self-care—not restriction • How financial clarity reduces anxiety and helps you make better decisions • Why more money doesn't create self-worth—it simply magnifies what's already there Laura also explains why she chose a fee-only financial planning model, how values-based investing creates greater peace of mind, and why true abundance isn't measured by wealth alone. If you've ever found yourself wondering whether your success still reflects who you've become, this conversation will remind you that it's never too late to redefine what a meaningful life looks like. Because the goal isn't simply to have more. It's to build a life that feels as successful on the inside as it looks on the outside.
