I went bald at 15. For Alopecia Awareness Month, I’m sharing my experience with alopecia and the stories behind my visits to barbers over the years. A haircut can feel routine to someone else, but for me, sitting in that chair has sometimes brought up a lot more. In this episode, I talk about how alopecia shaped my relationship with my hair, my confidence and the people I trusted to cut it.

I spent the day traveling across New York to buy a longboard so I could ride with a local longboard group. After all those miles, I finally joined the ride… and lasted about two blocks before they left me behind.
