Losing My Religion 2026 | Wk 2
2026/09/22
More and more people are deciding church just isn't for them. Many don't see the point. Maybe you grew up in it and were so disappointed by what you saw that you couldn't wait to get out. Walking away from religion isn't unusual. It's also not unreasonable. A lot of so-called Christians have hurt a lot of people and done a lot of damage in the name of Christ. Ever found yourself thinking: We'd all be better off without religion? Here's the crazy part: Jesus agrees with you. What God's always wanted is meaningful connections with His Creation. But most of us experience religion as rigid, rule-following devoid of relationship. Jesus' aim was to help humanity unlearn what they thought they knew and embrace lives fueled by transformational love. Jesus firmly believed abandoning certain religious traditions would free us to live the full lives we're made for. Wondering which ones and why? Join us as we find out this month!

When it comes to life, everybody is building something. You may not know it. You may not realize it. It may not feel like it. But you are. Every day. Every choice. Every action. And the sobering truth is that you build what you love. The question is--what are you building?

Doesn’t it seem like everywhere you look someone’s upset about something? People are ranting on reels, crashing out in the comments, and cancelling close friends. But it’s not just everyone else. Your buttons get pushed too. Are you supposed to pretend it didn’t happen? People need to be held accountable. Change needs to be made. You can’t believe how many people you’ve had to correct or cut ties with. But it’s just the way it is now. What’s the alternative? Does the Way of Jesus have anything to say about how to make the world better without living in a constant state of outrage?

Jesus is perhaps the most controversial & influential person in all of human history. Most people have thoughts, opinions and questions about who He was (and is). Some even claim to know His will or be doing His work. Is that true? How can they be so sure? In the book of John, one of Jesus’ biographers records eight poetic metaphors Jesus uses to describe Himself. What do each of these things mean? And how might understanding them alter the way we see Him, the world, and even ourselves?

Surprisingly Insightful
Listened to week 4 of Four Short Words. I had attended this church when they did week 1 of that series and thought it was good. “In” was encouraging,...
