Description

Do you ever wonder when did you get so serious? Do you miss the good old days? Do you lack fun in your life? About half of Americans say they don’t have enough fun. Join me on a mission to prioritize fun in our lives and why the lack of fun is detrimental to our well-being. This weekly podcast pivots between solo episodes and guest interviews. I, either, talk about a fun activity that I did or explore ideas around why fun can be so elusive. I hope to inspire you to explore ways to incorporate more fun in your life.

Resilience through life's biggest challenges (with Dan MacQueen)
2026/03/14
At 28, Dan was leading a healthy, active life. After an optometrist appointment to identify the cause of his persistent headaches was cut short, he was handed a sealed envelope and told to go directly to the hospital. What followed, was emergency brain surgery. On June 21, 2014, Dan's reality was shattered by a devastating brain hemorrhage. With no map to guide him on the grueling path to recovery, Dan had to rely on his grit, perseverance, and resilience to relearn everything he once knew: how to walk, talk and even smile. Dan has survived two emergency brain surgeries, weeks in a coma, and months in a rehab hospital. What he found out along the way might surprise you: there is nothing like a brain injury to refocus the mind! Driven by a positive mindset, Dan battled through excruciating rehab exercises to rebuild his life and return to a job he loved. He’s grateful for the doctors who saved him and the friends and family who supported him. Now he wants to pay it forward. The tools Dan used to build back his life can be used by anyone facing challenges. He will reveal strategies to help you or your team be #BetterThanYesterday and achieve your goals, one step at a time. His action-oriented life hacks will help you tackle anything you face. Through his talks, Dan has inspired groups at the @NHS London Wolfsen rehabilitation centre, @Headway - West London, a Brain injury association, @Hootsuite, a social media management company and @Spendesk a Fintech SaaS company based in London. His audiences were moved and uplifted by Dan's story and ready to use his practical approaches to triumph over adversity.  Join Dan to learn how changing your perspective can activate your resilience.   https://www.macqueendan.com/ https://www.instagram.com/macqueendan/       www.funisfundamental.com [email protected]
Self Care is NOT Selfish (with Jenny Lytle)
2026/02/22
Jenny Lytle, a nurse for over 30 years specializing in hospice and end-of-life care, experienced a profound shift when her mom—also a nurse—suddenly passed away. In her grief, Jenny realized her mom, like so many nurses, had prioritized everyone else at the expense of her own well-being. Determined to break that cycle, Jenny embarked on a journey of self-discovery, embracing coaching and personalized self-care. She found that caring for others begins with caring for yourself. Now the author of Self-Care Isn’t Selfish: The Compassionate Nurse's Step-by-Step Guide to Personalized Stress Relief, Jenny helps nurses and other caregivers through her proprietary Becoming Method®, providing practical, personalized strategies to manage stress, prioritize self-care, and continue caring for others with greater impact. Self-care isn’t selfish—it’s essential if we want to continue to care for others and live our best lives.   Connect with Jenny:  https://www.jennylytle.com/ https://www.facebook.com/becomingyourbestwithjennylytleRN/ https://www.linkedin.com/in/jenny-lytle-bsn-rn-682398b/ https://www.instagram.com/jennylytlern/   Please subscribe, rate, and review!   Suggestions and feedback: [email protected]   www.funisfundmental.com
