In Christ, you are the light of the world, your obedience is your strength. “You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden.” Matt. 5:14 The “I Will” is NO Match for the “I Am!” Where the Spirit of the Lord is there is liberty! Darkness cannot overcome the light! John 1:5 “the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it.” Comprehend: Seize, lay hold of, overcome it - Darkness cannot understand you! To the Christian, light is not only greater than darkness, but outlasts it and overcomes it! Jesus said, “No one takes My life, I lay it down.” Jesus, the Light of the world, in His obedience was His strength. “I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness but have the light of life.” John 8:12 The devil cannot handle your obedience because you represent Christ to him, and Jesus publicly shamed the devil at the cross. When the devil sees you, he knows you represent the one who brought him to shame! “Having disarmed principalities and powers, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in it.” Col. 2:15 When you speak your identity in Christ, the devil cannot tell who you are from who Jesus is! Because you have been grafted in! You have been raised up with Christ! You carry His name, His identity, His authority! Honor and provision are closely connected. If there is no honor their will be no provision. No disciple will follow a teacher unless you know they walk uprightly and are appointed by the Lord. John 3:2 Nicodemus came by night and inquired of Jesus. He recognized position before he received the provision. You cannot receive the provision until you honor the position. Honor the vessel of God and know they are sent from God, or you will not receive anything from them. Nicodemus positioned himself in faith and therefore He received from Jesus. At the great wedding of Cana, the first miracle according to the gospel of John chapter 2 the fulfillment of the need followed the honor of the vessel. When Mary honored position, the provision followed.  They filled the six pots of water present with water to the brim at the instruction of Jesus because Mary would not disregard the vessel of Honor that was present. She understood the principle of honor and therefore everyone present received from Jesus, the vessel of honor. It was in the drawing of the water that the miracle happened. When you draw on the living water, the ordinary goes to extraordinary. Are you drawing from the well? Are you drawing from the right well? Draw from Jesus and your life will increase. Faith without corresponding action does not perform. There was an action before faith performed. Once honor was established provision became available. Sometimes you may feel like you cannot hear the voice of God. But even God’s silence is still speaking. You can sit before the Lord and not hear a thing and yet receive everything you need. Belief and honor make a way for the provision from Jesus and from one another. Once the vessels were filled up then poured out the miracle happened. When He fills you up and pours you out, then you see the miraculous happen in your life. John 4 Jesus sat by Jacob’s well. Jesus was tired, but He sat by the well. The best thing you can do when you are tired is to sit. Sit by the wells of Salvation. To sit in Jesus’ presence is the best thing to do when fatigued or discouraged. Jehovah Jireh – God will provide! During Abraham’s most difficult trial, his test of faith proved Jehovah Jireh was his only Source! In Genesis 22 the Lord asked him to offer his son, his only son, Isaac as a burnt offering. His testing was not about human sacrificing for God clearly forbids that, but the testing of his faith. In Genesis 22:5 the key to his victory is clearly stated. Abraham said to his young men, “Stay here with the donkey; the Lad and I will go yonder and worship, and we will come back to you.” Sometimes when the warfare is all around you the best thing you can do is to remove yourself from the chaos and worship the Lord! The nuclear family is under attack, but the Lord said I will trouble those who trouble you. Church we must stand up to the attack and attack the attackers. Disney’s agenda, gender confusion, and puberty blockers are some of the topics that are indoctrinating our youth of this day. There is an irreverence to the Lord God, and many are falling for a lukewarm Christianity, but the Lord had some stern things to say about that. We must speak up and stand in the gap and pray for this is the time to be bold as a lion. This is not a time to sit back and expect other people to do your job. Jesus began His public ministry in a way that offended many, for the offense of the mind had to occur to weed out the false from the genuine.   Jesus was born in Bethlehem, the House of Bread, and raised in Nazareth, a town historically known as one of the lowliest places on earth.   Matthew 2:23 He came and dwelt in a city called Nazareth, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophets, “He shall be called a Nazarene.”   Can anything good come out of Nazareth? But God chose to have His Son, the Savior of the world live in Nazareth. As King Herod was fooled by the wise men, Pharaoh the king of Egypt was fooled by the midwives! Herod wanted to destroy Jesus as Pharaoh wanted to destroy Moses. The assigned executioners did not follow the plot assigned to them because they feared and obeyed God more than man. The Hebrew midwives were instructed to kill the male children at the time of birth in Exodus 1:16 because of Pharoah’s increasing jealousy and insecurity towards the Hebrews.  Yet the hand of God was with His people, and they continued to be fruitful and increased despite the persecution against them. The Power of the Holy Spirit has Conceived a Promise In You Pregnant with promise! “Joseph, that which is conceived in Mary, that which is orientated, created and developed in her is of the Holy Spirit.”  Matthew 1:20 In the Jewish culture the engagement was a prenuptial contract. It could only be nullified by going through the formal divorce process. Mary, engaged to Joseph, still lived with her parents, until the public marriage ceremony took place. The engagement period was usually entered into when the girl turned 13. Mary was just a teenager when she was engaged and gave birth. The angel who appeared to Joseph in a dream told him not to be afraid to take Mary as your wife also told him, “She will bring forth a Son, and you shall call His name Jesus, for He will save His people form their sins.” Matthew 1:21 Jesus – the Hebrew name for Jesus is Yeshua and means Yahweh is salvation, restoration, and deliverance. This was a prophecy fulfilled: “Behold the virgin shall be with child and bear Son and they shall call His name Immanuel, which is translated, God with us. Matthew 1:23 Joseph arose from his sleep and did as the angel of the Lord commanded him and took to him his wife Mary and did not know her until she brought forth her firstborn Son, Jesus. Faith! Trust! Obedience! All in the face impossible circumstances. Pregnant by God! Never heard of before. Yet it was true. Highest form of purity and simplicity, yet would have been considered scandalous, and impossible. Beyond anything they thought of or imagined possible, yet God choose them to bring about His perfect will.
