Daveen and Sharon met in Hairdressing  School, and are still friends today. They shed light on their personal journey and the pros and cons of being self employed. Personality and experience is the key to the success of every stylist.  How the guest experience effects our personal life too. They each have some side hustle that is creative and fun.

As Instructors, we traveled multiple times from Vancouver BC to California and Nevada, USA. We would drive 20-24 hours from our homes, just to see the latest rock stars of the hair industry. Many students would travel with us over these years, we just wanted to enlighten these new professionals and show them something spectacular at an international show. Students would fundraise for months before these shows just to fund their travel expenses. We had 3 Campuses and students would participate from all locations. There are  so many stories that we can't keep them all straight.... We went to the show, however the funniest stories were what happened before and after the events. This was my core group of ladies. Getting to know Lyndsy Campbell and Zsuzsana Varga, we talk about their start in the industry. Balayage, Foilayage and Color tips in between. Hair Proteins and how much is too much. Balayage is a technique to give the hair a sun-kissed look usually a freehand technique with a clay lightener no foils used. A sweeping motion up the hair strand to create a beautiful soft transition from  mid shaft to a natural "rootie" lived in look. Foilayage is done using foils and regular lightener to speed up the process and protect the natural hair from touching the lightener inside the foil. A sweeping motion is used much the same as balayage however inside a foil. And can be alternated with or combined with root foils or the TIP out method.
