195. Home Projects With Amy!
2026/10/05
Amy makes a triumphant return to the podcast after some time off. The conversation turns all those projects that pop up with the end of summer and the coming of winter (Winter's coming!) The problem is that all those projects identified during summer don't get finished, and with dwindling daylight and cooler temperatures time is running out to get everything tucked away before the snow flies. Amy details her latest project in her old house of finishing the stair treads after her better half replaced them over a weekend while she was out of town. Why does any project seem to come down to being a little bit artistic? Does anyone else hate caulking? Even with years of experience, Tim struggles to get the perfect bead that looks good and does the job. Did Amy really encounter a misogynist at Home Depot (which is totally believable!) or was she being overly sensitive and sensing something that was not there. (Grace costs you nothing!) 194. Family Traditions with D2.
2026/09/28
Lindsey joins the podcast sitting in for D3 again this week. The conversation takes an entirely different turn as the mother of three tummy terrors leans into a discussion of family traditions. Of course any appearance of D2 includes her own D1 and D2 as things fly off the rail! What traditions do you remember from your youth that you try to bring to another generation? Some of the best traditions are those that grow out of activities that everyone enjoys without any expectations. As Amy often quotes, "Comparison is the thief of joy!" It's when we attempt to recreate a tradition that the whole thing can fall apart. Thank you for supporting our podcast. Please follow us on Spotify, it's free to set up an account. If you have any topics you'd like us to tackle, please email us at [email protected]. Also, follow us on Facebook, X and Instagram. Until next time...
193. Bad Dog Owners
2026/09/21
D2 returns to guest host with Tim with the discussion covering children (Lindsey's Tummy Terrors) and the things that bother us about bad dog owners. Lindsey, with a residential zoo containing dogs, snakes, a bearded dragon, a flock of chickens and a snapping turtle (yes! you read that correctly) lends some of her animal-loving expertise to what gripes Tim about bad dog owners. From failing to clean up after your dogs in public, to basically neglecting your dog and their needs frustrates these two pet owners and dog lovers. A dog's life is extremely short compared to our own, and having to spend the majority of their lives waiting, alone, to receive attention just seems wrong. For dog lovers, it's said the hardest thing to do is to own a dog, because we know how it ends, yet we do it anyway. What are some things that bad dog owners do that really "burns your biscuits?" Let us know. Thank you for supporting our podcast! Please follow, subscribe, like and comment wherever you listen. Also, please follow us on Spotify, it's free to join, and really helps us out. 192. Sam's Club vs. Costco
2026/09/07
Even after nearly five years of retirement, Tim says Fridays still are a good day while there are no more "Sunday Scaries." After another episode with an extended opening segment, with another beer tasting challenge, and once again Amy nails it! Eventually the conversation gets around to warehouse clubs and some comparisons between Sam's Club and Costco. No one will guess what the deciding factor was that tipped the scales in one direction for Tim. Thanks for supporting our podcast! We're continuing to grow and we truly appreciate that. 191. Another State Fair Episode!?!?!?
2026/08/31
Yup, it's that time of year again. With the winding down of summer comes the Great Minnesota Get-Together — The Minnesota State Fair. Arguably the greatest state fair there is. And when the fair comes, Tim's retirement takes a holiday! Listen as Amy goes through some of the new foods at this year's event. (Who would like a Mac & Cheese in a waffle cone, or perhaps some deep-fried corn-on-the-cob?) And, what's the Fair's obsession with pickles? Pickle pie anyone? Tim throws yet another beer challenge at Amy, can he finally stump her? Thank you for supporting our podcast, we really appreciate the growth we're seeing! Please follow us on Spotify, it's free to subscribe and you don't even have to listen to us! If there are any topics you would Amy and Tim to tackle send us an email at [email protected] Until next time...
190. Don't Complain About It!
2026/08/24
How do you handle people who only seem to be happy when they complain? Do you jump into the fray and join the party, or try to deflect the complainer from the topic? Do chronic complainers even want someone to solve their problem, or is it hardwired into their person as a coping mechanism that through years of complaining now gives them a sense of worth? Tim and Amy discuss this topic as well as the latest beer-opening challenge (spoiler, Amy nails it!) Shout out to Louisiana Grills and their support line! With their help I got up and smoking again on my vertical pellet smoker. (Thus leading to a brief discussion of chicken wings!!!) What do you prefer, dry rubbed or sauced? Thank you for supporting our podcast. Please follow us on Spotify. If you have any topic suggestions please email us at [email protected]. Until next time...
189. Nothing is Original
2026/08/17
Are there anymore original thoughts or ideas? Has everything been thought of, composed and written, or, as a society we are just too lazy to create and instead just reuse things that have already been done? Is a 5-gallon bucket ever worth $9 + tax? What if comes packed with 24 cans of beer? That's certainly a great bargain, and as Amy would say, "you're losing money by not buying it." Compare that to a Yeti 5-gallon bucket for $40! Of course the fully loaded bucket "with all the fixins" will run you $130. Thanks for supporting our podcast. If you're reading this, then it means you are on Spotify, and if you are on Spotify make sure to create a free account and follow us! As always, if there are any topics you would like us to tackle send us an email at [email protected] Until next time...
188. Glow Stick Pool Party, Beer, Dogs, and Who Gets to Travel with Mom?
2026/08/09
This may be the quintessential-typical episode as Amy and Tim sit down with no idea what they are going to talk about, and when the episode is complete the question comes up, "What did we talk about?" There's a little of everything in this episode with, of course, a description of beer. Recorded on a "Thirsty Thursday", instead of our typical "Fresh-Tapped Friday" perhaps that threw us off our game (probably not!) How many glow sticks does it take to light up a pool after dark? 1,000, 1,500, 2,000? Another pool party will need to be done so Mom can participate (How Dare You!!!!) How you treat a dog is a big indicator of what kind of person you are. Does anyone else feel guilty how they treated their dog and attempt to make up for it with each successive dog? (Tim) If you're reading this, then that means you're looking at this on Spotify, which means you must have a Spotify Account, and if you have a Spotify Account, and reading this, then you must be following us on Spotify, and if you're not — WTF!?!?!?!?!?! Go ahead an follow us, and if you were not previously, than you need to find another follower. Let's turn this into MLM — Multi Level Marketing type like scheme. I personally don't know anyone who ever made millions in one of these, so there's no need to lie and make anyone think there's a pot of gold at the end of this rainbow!!! Please, wherever you listen (Spotify) pleas follow, comment, like, share and tell someone about us. (It might be the best revenge on your enemies ever!) Thanks for helping us to continue to grow this podcast! IF you have any questions or suggestions for future topics, please send us an email at [email protected]
187. Am I the A$$hole?
2026/08/03
Amy and Tim dive straight into the question of whether or not Tim is the problem. (In most cases the answer is obvious!) Listen as Tim details his most recent bicycle adventure and near-death experience (of course he is soooo dramatic!!) And why were so many bots in Vietnam downloading our episodes? What possible advantage could this lead to? Thank you for supporting our podcast! Everyone knows the drill — like, share, follow, comment, critique, laugh, joke, tell your mother and enjoy a beer!!!! Until next time...Cheers!
186. Beer!
2026/07/19
It's become a part of every episode for Amy and Tim, so why not make almost the entire episode about it. From "The Opening" to the ending, Amy and Tim chat about beer and how it just seems to hit differently in the summer. Who wants to drink a cold beer when the temperature is flirting with negative numbers in the wintertime? From our favorites (cold and free) to the places we like to refresh ourselves, the importance of having that comfortable place to enjoy a few adult beverages during the rather small window that is summer in Minnesota. Thank you to all our listeners helping to grow our podcast, keep up the great job of sharing and spreading the word. Please follow us on Spotify - it's free to set up an account. For any and all inquiries you can email us at [email protected] Until next time...
185. Do You Hear Voices in Your Head?
2026/07/12
Who else hears voices or has full blown conversations in their head? Listen as Amy and Tim discuss the benefits of playing out conversations within your head as a way to practice reacting based on your values and not your emotions. The issue arises when you end up in an argument and wind up not speaking to yourself! It's also said that "two heads are better than one" so by playing the devil's advocate, your internal discussions may lead to better outcomes when you actually face the situation. Thank you for all the support we're receiving! Our podcast continues to grow and we appreciate it! Please follow us on Spotify, it's free to join and it helps our visibility. If you have any questions or topics you want us to discuss feel free to leave a comment on any of our social media accounts, or send us an email at: [email protected] Until next time...
184. The World Cup and Coaching Youth Soccer!
2026/07/06
What has been your favorite moment of the FIFA World Cup coming to North America? Is the Scots taking over pubs in Boston, the Oranje Fanwalk of the Netherland fans, or the reactions of many foreigners experiencing a bit of Americana? Amy and Tim delve into this among other topics including Amy scoring on a penalty — which somehow has escaped her recollection! Thank you for supporting our podcast! It's been great seeing the steady growth of our audience. Please follow us on Spotify (it's free to set up an account!) or wherever you listen. Please share, comment and like as well. For any questions, or topic ideas you can email us at [email protected]
183. Advice From Dad
2026/06/29
In this episode Amy compiles the words of advice that she and her sisters recall from growing up with Tim. It is great to learn that all those lectures with those pearls of wisdom were not wasted on deaf ears. Listen as Amy and Tim breakdown 11 phrases and bits of wisdom passed on through the years. Some these come from earlier episodes, such as "E6 Some Say Tomato, Tim Says Drive With A Purpose" and "E8 The Difference Between a Monologue and a Dialogue." In a bit of a surprise, D1 was able to rattle most of these in short order — who know she was actually listening? Thank you for supporting our podcast. Please follow us on Spotify - to sign up is free. Also, like comment, follow or subscribe wherever you listen. If there are any topics you would like us to tackle, leave a comment or send us an email at [email protected] Again, thank you!
182. Two Dads Talking on Vacation!
2026/06/22
D1's husband, Josh, sits down with Tim as a guest cohost for the podcast. From skateboarding to soccer and fishing listen as Josh brings his perspective to parenting. How long does it take to set up two kids when you go fishing before you can drop a line in the water? To anyone who's taking a child fishing you might not be surprised to the answer. The discussion touches on how important dads are, being there to help when our kids fall and helping them get back on their feet. Thank you for supporting our podcast. Please follow us on Spotify or wherever you listen. If you have any questions, topic suggestions or a great dad joke to share you can email us at [email protected] -or- Leave a comment when we post links to Facebook, X or Instagram.
181. Jet-Lagged Amy Returns!
2026/06/15
Amy returns after a few weeks hiatus just in time to join Tim and the $h!t$how on vacation in beautiful Central Minnesota. After flying back from Europe and a bit jet lagged, Amy relates some of the struggles of her latest trip. The conversation breaks down into Paris versus London, wine versus beer and pubs versus street cafes. Can you guess which each of us fall? The topic of torture comes up from Amy's visit to the Tower of London and what kind of mind comes up with this stuff!? During the packing preparation for vacation, Tim comes across some of this writings in a creative writing class in high school. Based on what was shared, how disturbed were his high school years? Of course, after we finished recording, Tim remembered the name of the pub he has visited a couple of times. Waxy O' Connor's in Soho, London. A great pub! https://waxyoconnorslondon.co.uk/ Thank you for supporting our podcast. Please follow us on Spotify and wherever you listen to us!
