📞 AI customer communication could help your business respond to missed calls, connect scattered conversations, and give customers a smoother experience—and Adam Peeler joins us to explain how.
A potential patient calls during lunch, leaves a voicemail, and follows up by text. When your team finally responds, nobody has the full conversation. Meanwhile, that patient may have booked elsewhere. How do you identify those gaps—and build a communication workflow that helps your team follow through?
In this episode of the Financial Freedom Podcast with Dr. Christopher H. Loo, Adam Peeler, Senior Director of Product Management for GoTo, shares his perspective on AI customer communication, missed call recovery, and customer service automation for small businesses and healthcare practices.
🤖 We explore how an AI receptionist could support after-hours inquiries, appointment rescheduling, and automated text follow-up. Adam also discusses call summaries, sentiment analysis, and call analytics—and why reviewing only a small sample of conversations can leave business owners with an incomplete picture of the customer experience.
For physicians, practice owners, and entrepreneurs juggling multiple platforms, the conversation examines how a business phone system and unified communications can bring calls and messages together, preserve customer context, and reduce the friction of repeated transfers and disconnected handoffs.
🏥 We also discuss patient communication, EHR integration, and the importance of keeping core business systems as the source of truth. You’ll hear Adam’s perspective on where AI can support routine workflows and where human judgment remains essential.
📲 Finally, we address a frustrating barrier: your legitimate business calls appearing as “potential spam.” Learn about phone number reputation, branded calling, spam call filtering, and Rich Communication Services (RCS)—and how recognizable business communications may help customers feel more confident responding.

💡 Founder Dependency: Is Your Business Too Dependent on You? | Peter Boolkah

🔑 Founder dependency can quietly turn a successful company into a business that owns its founder—and in this episode, we sit down with business coach, entrepreneur, and Hamster Wheel Trap creator Peter Boolkah to explore how to build a business that can run without you.
Peter explains why many entrepreneurs unintentionally train their companies to depend on them from day one—and why adding employees, working harder, or adopting AI doesn't automatically fix the underlying problem.
🤖 AI and founder dependency
For entrepreneurs researching AI for business, business automation, and scalable business systems, the bigger opportunity may not simply be replacing work. It may be using technology to free the founder and leadership team to spend more time on customers, strategy, relationships, and the highest-value decisions.
📈 Building a business that runs without you
A larger company that cannot function without its founder can present a very different proposition from a smaller business with predictable revenue, strong profitability, effective management, operational continuity, and systems capable of functioning independently.
That distinction matters for anyone thinking about business valuation, enterprise value, business acquisition, succession planning, or eventually creating a sellable business.
🔥 Is hustle culture actually holding entrepreneurs back?
Peter argues that intense founder involvement can be necessary during the early stages of building a company—but the same habits that helped create the business can eventually prevent it from scaling.
At some point, the founder's job has to evolve.
That means developing people, transferring authority, strengthening business processes, creating accountability, building leadership capacity, and designing a company that doesn't require the owner to personally solve every problem.
💰 Business exits, enterprise value and succession planning
The episode also examines why founders should think about business exit strategy and succession planning even when they have no immediate plans to sell.
A business built around one individual may become difficult to transfer, acquire, or hand to the next generation. An owner-independent operation with repeatable systems and leadership continuity can provide far more flexibility.
🧠 And there's another question entrepreneurs rarely discuss:
What happens when the company finally doesn't need you?
Peter explores founder identity after an exit, the loss of purpose some high achievers experience after selling a company, and why entrepreneurs should know what they're moving toward—not simply what they're trying to escape.

Entrepreneur skillset scaling may be the missing piece when your business stops growing—and Mike Konrad explains why the skills that helped you become successful can eventually become the very skills holding your company back. 🚀
If you're searching for how to scale a business, how to escape the founder bottleneck, or which business growth strategies actually help you move beyond a plateau, this conversation provides a different way to diagnose the problem.
After more than three decades as an entrepreneur, Mike has experienced the transition from garage startup to building a company serving customers across six continents. Along the way, he discovered something critical:
👉 Starting and scaling require different versions of the founder.
The confidence, risk tolerance, speed, ego, and even naivety that can help you launch a company aren't necessarily the leadership skills required to scale one.
Mike compares entrepreneurship to driving a manual transmission. First gear gets you moving quickly—but eventually you have to shift. Trying to build the next stage of your company using your "first gear" skillset can turn the founder into the company's biggest constraint.
That's why this conversation goes beyond generic business growth strategies. Mike explains the startup vs scaling business transition and why an entrepreneur mindset shift becomes necessary as your company grows.
This episode is designed to help you think through those questions.
You'll also hear how Mike abandoned aggressive traditional advertising for education-based marketing—teaching customers instead of constantly selling to them—and why that change helped drive sales.
Finally, Mike shares what decades of entrepreneurship taught him about failure, risk and fear-based decision-making, including the question he uses when fear starts influencing an important business decision:

TikTok Shop for beginners is more than learning how to sell products on TikTok—it’s about understanding how UGC creators, social commerce, and the creator economy are changing the way people earn, shop, build trust, and reinvent their careers. 📱🚀 In this episode, Paul Paulino shares how he went from decades in Silicon Valley to building a new career around content creation, TikTok Shop and user-generated content.
If you’re searching for how to monetize TikTok Shop, become a TikTok Shop affiliate, start as a UGC creator, or understand whether social commerce is a real opportunity, Paul brings a unique perspective from both sides of the digital economy. He combines decades of experience in technology, advertising, design and consumer psychology with firsthand experience creating content for brands.
🔥 What is TikTok Shop—and how do beginners actually make money from it?
Paul explains the difference between traditional influencer marketing, user generated content, affiliate marketing and TikTok Shop. He discusses why you don’t necessarily need millions of followers to create valuable content, what brands are looking for from creators, and why understanding consumer psychology, authentic communication and content strategy can matter more than simply chasing views.
📈 Why is social commerce becoming such a major opportunity?
We explore the shift from traditional e-commerce toward social commerce, shoppable videos and purchasing directly inside social platforms. Paul explains why he believes shopping is increasingly moving to the phone and why creators, entrepreneurs, marketers and brands should pay attention to the convergence of entertainment, product discovery and commerce.
💼 Can content creation become a career-reinvention strategy?
For Gen X professionals and experienced workers concerned about layoffs, career uncertainty or AI job disruption, this conversation goes much deeper than TikTok. Paul shares why he chose not to simply return to another Silicon Valley job, how his previous professional skills transferred into content creation, and why experience and credibility can actually become advantages inside the creator economy.
🤖 We also explore AI and the future of content. Will artificial intelligence replace creators? How should professionals respond as AI changes traditional jobs? And will more people eventually need to think like entrepreneurs and develop their own audiences, skills and income streams?

📈 Making $500K But Still Not Financially Free? | Mike Milligan

💰 Financial freedom for high-income professionals requires more than earning a large salary—it requires knowing how to turn income into wealth, flexibility, and control over your life.
In this episode of the Financial Freedom Podcast, we sit down with Mike Milligan, founder of One Oak Financial and author of The One-of-a-Kind Financial Plan and Retirement Déjà Vu, to explore why physicians, attorneys, executives, entrepreneurs, and other high earners can make $300K, $500K, or more and still feel financially trapped.
Mike calls one of the biggest hidden obstacles the “paralysis penalty”: the cost of financial indecision. Fear, uncertainty, and information overload can cause people to leave substantial amounts of money sitting in cash or high-yield savings accounts instead of assigning that capital a long-term purpose.
We discuss financial planning for high-income professionals, wealth building for high-income earners, tax planning for high-income earners, and why earning more money does not automatically create financial freedom.
Mike explains:
📈 How financial paralysis can cost hundreds of thousands of dollars over time🏦 The hidden opportunity cost of keeping too much money in cash🔥 Why inflation and taxes create an investment “hurdle rate”💳 Why high earners often live according to gross income instead of net income🧾 Why tax planning should be part of your overall wealth strategy📱 How social media fuels a dangerous “get rich quick” mentality🌎 Why accumulating wealth and designing freedom are not the same thing
The conversation ultimately shifts to a bigger question:
🔥 Are you accumulating money—or designing freedom?
Mike challenges the traditional formula of working for decades, saving aggressively, retiring, and only then beginning to enjoy life.
Instead, he argues that money should be a tool that creates freedom over your time, location, career, and life choices.
Near the end of the episode, Mike shares three decisions that may determine whether you feel wealthy 15 years from now:
1️⃣ Define your vision2️⃣ Invest in that vision3️⃣ Commit to that vision
He also introduces his CHI framework:
🤝 Community❤️ Health🌎 Impact
Whether you're a physician, attorney, entrepreneur, executive, or business owner wondering how to build wealth with a high income, overcome financial indecision, invest more intentionally, or achieve genuine financial independence, this episode offers a different framework for thinking about money.
Your financial plan shouldn't simply help you accumulate more.
It should help you build the life you actually want. 🚀

🎙️ The Healthcare System Missed Her Disease Until Her Lung Collapsed | Aaliyah Maura

Endometriosis symptoms can be dismissed for years—but for Aaliyah Maura, the consequences became life-threatening when Stage IV endometriosis affected her diaphragm and chest and contributed to the complete collapse of her right lung.
Beginning at ten years old, Aaliyah experienced painful periods, back pain, nausea, and episodes of feeling as though she might pass out. Despite knowing that something was wrong, she struggled for years to obtain an accurate endometriosis diagnosis.
Her journey eventually revealed Stage IV endometriosis involving her reproductive organs, diaphragm, and thoracic cavity. What she initially believed might be a hernia turned out to involve significant fluid accumulation, shortness of breath, and a collapsed lung associated with thoracic endometriosis.
🎙️ In this episode of the Financial Freedom Podcast, Aaliyah shares how she learned to trust her body, ask better questions, seek additional opinions, and find an endometriosis specialist who listened to her concerns.
When one physician presented a hysterectomy as the answer, Aaliyah did not immediately surrender her reproductive choices. She continued researching, requested additional evaluation, sought a second medical opinion, and ultimately underwent excision surgery with a specialist in Atlanta.
As a licensed marriage and family therapist working in a primary-care setting, Aaliyah brings both professional expertise and lived experience to the psychology of patient self-advocacy. She explains why patients may remain silent around authority figures, how fear of being labeled “difficult” affects doctor-patient communication, and why speaking up can matter in healthcare, relationships, and the workplace.
If you are searching for answers to questions such as “Are my painful periods normal?”, “Why are my symptoms being dismissed?”, “When should I seek a second opinion?”, or “How do I advocate for myself at the doctor?”, this conversation offers practical insight and encouragement.
In this episode, you will discover:
✅ Early signs and symptoms that Aaliyah knew were not normal
✅ How endometriosis affected her diaphragm, chest, and right lung
✅ What patients describe as medical gaslighting or medical dismissal
✅ Green flags to look for in a thoughtful healthcare provider
✅ Why curiosity and critical thinking matter in complex medical cases
✅ How to become an informed participant in your healthcare decisions
✅ When additional testing, a referral, or another opinion may be appropriate
✅ The benefits and limitations of using AI for health information
✅ How Aaliyah approached fertility preservation when considering treatment

Algorithmic trading could provide a different source of portfolio returns—but where does it belong in a financial freedom strategy, and what risks should investors understand before getting started? In this sponsored episode, we speak with Jeff Sekinger, founder of NURP, about using automated strategies as a potential complement to stocks, real estate, retirement accounts, and other traditional investments.
Many physicians, entrepreneurs, and high-income professionals believe they are diversified because they own several different investments. But their wealth may still depend on many of the same economic forces: rising equity markets, available credit, economic growth, and appreciating real estate.
You can own many investments and still have only one underlying risk.
Jeff explains how algorithmic trading, automated trading strategies, and alternative investments may give qualified investors exposure to returns that behave differently from traditional assets. He discusses how NURP’s technology connects to a client-controlled brokerage account, how its algorithms can respond to both rising and falling markets, and how investors can adjust certain risk parameters.
In this episode, you’ll discover:
🔹 Why a portfolio can appear diversified while remaining highly concentrated
🔹 Where algorithmic trading strategies may fit within a diversified portfolio
🔹 Why financial freedom requires more than maximizing a 401(k)
🔹 How NURP differs from a hedge fund or traditional managed investment
🔹 The differences between algorithmic trading, real estate syndications, private credit, oil and gas, and life insurance
🔹 How automated strategies may trade both rising and falling asset prices
🔹 The potential advantages of maintaining custody of capital in your own brokerage account
🔹 Why liquidity, drawdowns, leverage, fees, and risk-adjusted returns matter
🔹 How investors can distinguish backtested performance from live trading results
🔹 What investors should verify before committing capital to an alternative strategy

🎯 High achiever addiction is the hidden pattern Hugo Vrsalovic believes can keep even the most successful entrepreneurs, physicians, attorneys, executives, and professionals trapped in a cycle of achievement without lasting peace.
In this episode of the Financial Freedom Podcast, Hugo explains why workaholism, perfectionism, gambling, alcohol, and the constant pursuit of success may all serve as coping mechanisms for unresolved emotional pain.
That pattern may be more than ambition.
It may represent an addiction to achievement.
Hugo Vrsalovic is a recovery coach, TEDx speaker, Rice University alumnus, and host of the 1% in Recovery Podcast.
Drawing from his personal recovery from alcohol addiction and gambling addiction, Hugo helps people recognize the deeper emotional patterns beneath compulsive behavior. His work explores the intersection of addiction recovery, unresolved trauma, emotional intelligence, identity, neuroplasticity, and sustainable behavioral change.
The central question is not simply, “Am I addicted?”
It is: What am I using to avoid feeling?
One of the most important takeaways from the episode is that you cannot simply outthink an emotional issue. Intelligence, professional expertise, money, and achievement do not automatically create emotional healing.

🚀 Passive real estate investing can be one of the most powerful ways to build long-term wealth—but only if you know how to avoid the costly mistakes that derail new investors. In this episode, Chad Ackerman shares the proven frameworks he uses to help busy professionals evaluate opportunities, perform investment due diligence, and confidently invest in real estate syndications without becoming landlords.
If you've ever wondered whether passive income is truly passive, how to vet a sponsor before wiring six figures, whether alternative investments belong in your portfolio, or how passive real estate compares to investing in the S&P 500, this conversation provides practical answers grounded in real-world experience.
After spending more than 25 years in corporate America, Chad Ackerman realized that relying on a single W-2 paycheck wasn't the financial security he thought it was. He became a passive real estate investor, co-founded Left Field Investors (later acquired by BiggerPockets), and now educates investors on how to build wealth while avoiding the most common investment mistakes.
In this episode you'll learn:
✅ How passive real estate investing actually works
✅ Why choosing the right operator matters more than projected returns
✅ The biggest mistakes new passive investors make
✅ How to evaluate real estate syndications
✅ Why diversification protects long-term wealth
✅ The difference between active and passive real estate investing
✅ How to perform better investment due diligence
✅ How to think like an experienced institutional investor instead of following marketing hype
Whether you're a physician, entrepreneur, executive, business owner, or simply someone looking to build additional income streams, Chad shares timeless investing principles that apply far beyond real estate. Instead of chasing every opportunity, you'll learn how experienced investors build decision-making frameworks that protect capital while creating long-term financial freedom.
