The UN Sustainable Development Goals have provided a common framework for addressing global challenges since 2015. But organizations have often approached them through individual initiatives rather than embedding them into their core management processes. With 2030 approaching, ISO 53001 provides a more systematic approach. ISO 53001 is a management system standard that helps organizations identify the SDGs and targets relevant to them, set objectives, measure progress and drive continual improvement. Two new European standards provide a shared evidence base for designing products, services and requirements that better reflect children’s needs. PD CEN/TR 18296-1:2026 and PD CEN/TS 18296-2:2026 bring together harmonized European data on children’s body sizes and physical strength, alongside guidance on applying it in design.
