The scriptures teach us that God speaks to us in our own language, according to our own understanding.  I think that when we understand the significance that God speaks so individually to us, according to how we will best understand and hear him, it can help us see how personal and intimate our relationship with God can be.  God knows you that perfectly.  God speaks your language. In this episode, I share how I have come to better hear how God speaks to me through prayer journaling.  This was originally recorded as a bonus class in the 40-day Journey with Christ meditation course I created.  I wanted to share it with you during this busy season when we are celebrating Christ, but it can feel hard to sometimes make enough room for Him in all the hustle.  This will hopefully help you see ways to increase your ability and capacity to hear Him. Join me in this episode as we talk about the powerful ability women have to create peace and that we receive the grace to do so from our Maker. "Charity, or the pure love of Christ, is motherhood in a very practical and real way...My mother-work will come directly through the whispers of the Holy Spirit. And it is no less real for being unrelated by blood and bone." (Sharon Eubank) This "mother work" as Sharon put it, and as we saw in the example of Deborah, is bearing with others and nurturing them in God.  It's being yourself and holding up your unique light with courage, it's being a strengthener and encourager, it's meeting others where they're.  It's holding space for another to feel safe being exactly who they are.  It's forgiving, it's counseling together, it's going to places that may be uncomfortable to help another not have to walk alone, it's speaking the language of faith and hope, it's wisdom and good judgment,  it's turning hearts to God.  It's helping restore freedom and faith and God.  It's walking with Christ and receiving daily strength to be able to walk with others in difficult circumstances where peace needs to be made.   Mother-work is creating peace.

In this episode, my husband and I get to share with you some of the tender experiences we've had in our own wilderness times of life.  God promises so much to those traveling through these dessert-like places.  He gives us treasure here, makes these places beautiful and filled with life, and he goes before us as our shield and is our reward.  We share how we have found God in every step, even when those steps are unimaginably hard.

We're starting a new series!  We'll still be learning about daughter disciples (like Mary Magdalene and Hagar today), but with a bit of a twist.  We're looking at wilderness experiences in our lives in this series and where Christ shows up in our stories.  Wilderness times may be uncomfortable, stretching, or maybe even mundane, but they are times that have the potential to create amazing transformation within us and our lives.  They help us see Christ with new eyes and a new heart.  I can't wait to be with you here!
