Robert L. Toran, School Counseling Director and Head Wrestling Coach at Salem High, has been a counselor for over 20 years and has been coaching for over 30 years all in the Tidewater area. Mr. Toran is a product of the Norfolk Public School System and a 1982 graduate of Norview High School.  He received his Bachelor’s of Art degree in Mass Communications from Winston-Salem State University,  Education degree from Old Dominion University and his Master’s degree from Norfolk State University. Robert's philosophy is “Education is the key to unlocking all possibilities for those who seek them.”

In this episode we interview Chrissa, mother of 15 year old Kristopher Edmonds (affectionately known as Be-Bop), who was gunned down in Norfolk on July 13, 2021.  Our conversation takes place just one month after Kristopher's tragic death.  Chrissa is working tirelessly in her efforts to promote resolution and closure in her son's senseless death. Our hearts break for Chrissa and her family on their quest for closure.

In this episode, JT interviews Tonya Carmon, mother of Daymeion Carmon Faison who was killed May 2, 2021 in an act of gun violence.  Tonya is a warrior; a remarkable, young lady, who even in her grief, maintains strong faith, and shares Daymeion's story and words of encouragement for other survivors of gun violence.
