Eric Palicki | Dragonproof | Corduroy Road
2026/11/06
From supernatural crime stories to offbeat fantasy adventures, writer Eric Palicki has built a body of work filled with memorable outsiders, strange worlds, and genre-bending twists. Known for Black’s Myth and Atlantis Wasn’t Built for Tourists, Eric joins the Bandits to discuss his career and two exciting new projects. First up is Corduroy Road, his new AHOY Comics series with artist Chris Peterson, which follows Chicago private investigator Paul Corduroy—a monster hunter who would much rather be solving ordinary mysteries, if only the city's supernatural underworld would leave him alone. We also dive into Dragonproof, an original graphic novel illustrated by Giulia Lalli and colored by Gab Contreras, about a directionless young woman who discovers a wounded dragon and gets pulled into a secret government operation targeting mythical creatures. Eric talks about building compelling worlds, writing outsiders who find their purpose, and blending mystery, horror, fantasy, humor, and heart into stories that keep readers guessing.
