After two nominations and endless support from her dedicated fans, Pat Benatar has finally been inducted to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame alongside her musical partner and husband, Neil Giraldo. It is puzzling why this inevitably took so long, since the music of Pat Benatar has been prominently featured on classic rock stations for decades, not to mention being a pillar in the foundation of MTV's heyday. Hopefully these accolades will help put her on the modern rock ladies Mt. Although Nirvana seems to get the credit for opening the world to the Alternative Nation, Jane’s Addiction leader Perry Farrell was the one who literally coined the term “Alternative Nation.” After releasing three groundbreaking records, the band broke up in 1991. They have had various attempts at reviving its legacy, and are making a strong claim recently by welcoming back founding member Eric Avery. Minutemen were to hardcore what The Talking Heads were to punk. D Boon, Mike Watt and George Hurley, the three "corndogs" from San Pedro that drove the Minutemen style of Econo punk rock, understood that being punk meant breaking down all the establishment borders. Louisville, Kentucky's My Morning Jacket is the topic of this week's band-to-food comparison.
