038: Quit Shrinking Yourself
2022/06/28
“If you want growth, if you want to change— start.” -Bruce Jeppesen Having self-confidence is a priceless gift we can give ourselves. It is the cornerstone of a happy, healthy life. It is important that we feel good about ourselves because it affects how we treat others and how they treat us. Moreover, it is a need that we have to fill. Our level of self-confidence affects how much crap we tolerate in our lives.  However, self-confidence is more than just what we see on the surface, it's more of what goes on inside our heads. We've all seen people who have no trouble speaking to anyone at any time without having second thoughts about their words or actions. But deep inside, they are full of negative self-talks and insecurities.  In this episode, Bruce relates how his own lack of confidence has limited his potential and how this one simple step that most of us avoid, has helped him to overcome this challenge. Listen in as he shares why we should make developing self-confidence a  priority, why we should stop procrastinating, how our self-talk affects us and others, and how giving off 5 minutes of our time can change our trajectory.  Takeaways:  00:44 Make Self-Confidence a Priority 04:33 Finding Positive Words Feels Good! 07:19 Don’t Be Afraid to Be the Dumbest Person in the Room 12:21 You Are One Step Away 16:30 Stop Procrastinating  20:29 Decide You Want Change 24:04 Do Something Nice for Yourself
037: ALL IN— How to Build a Successful Business From Zero with Jefferson Rogers
2022/06/14
“You were meant to do great things, and whether you think so right now is irrelevant.” -Jefferson Rogers Being an entrepreneur is great. Besides being rewarded for your hard work, you can also enjoy being your own boss.  However, you may be intimidated by the thought of starting a business because you are afraid that it will be too expensive and you don't know where to get started. The good news is that you don't need a lot of money to start a business. You can choose to start on the right path. In fact, you only need an idea and the passion to make things happen. JKR Windows Founder, Jefferson K. Rogers built his business from zero. In a span of four years, he was able to grow his startup into a $30,000,000 company and is named  the fastest-growing replacement window company in Utah, and awarded top company growth at the 2020 D2D CON. But Jefferson did not have it easy. At 14, he started drinking and taking drugs. And for years, he suffered with low self-esteem and lack of direction. But when he thought it was over, Jefferson received the right message, at the right place, at the right time.  Listen in as Jefferson share what it meant to go ALL IN and how he persevered his way to the top. Bruce and Jefferson also talked about how to break detrimental habits and behaviors and form healthy ones, what the value of our gift really is, how to keep our progress going, and why our health is an important factor in our success.  Follow Bruce on:  Website: https://recipesforagreatlife.com/  Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/bruce.jeppesen    Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/lifequest1  LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/bruce-jeppesen-b01a8117b  Takeaways:  02:07 Right Place, Right Time, Right Message 11:36 Understand the Value of Your Gift 16:35 Misconceptions About Starting a Business 22:49 Value Your Health 27:31 The Secret to Progress 34:18 Make Room for Productive Things 42:17 Believe That It’s Possible 47:12 If You Don’t Try, You Won’t Know 53:10 You Are Meant to Do Great Things

035: The Stresses of Finances
2022/05/31
“There has to be a starting point. It can be that tiniest little thing that makes you feel good and that will help you progress. Do it. You don't need anybody's permission.” -Bruce Jeppesen  It's the end of the month, and all you can think about is how much money you have left. You're trying to pay your bills, but you're still short. It seems like there isn't going to be enough money in your bank account- ever. We've all been there—we know that feeling of being so stressed out about money that it takes over your life and makes every other part of it seem like a struggle. But taking care of your finances doesn't have to stress you out! In this episode, Bruce talks about his own struggle with finances and what he did to take the stress out of it. 034: Procrastination- What Does It Truly Cost Us?
2022/05/24
“If there's something you want to try, go do it. Just go have fun.” -Bruce Jeppessen The reason why procrastination has such a bad reputation is because it does damage—and not just to our relationships but also our own sense of self-worth and productivity. Moreover, putting things off means those things will add up over time and become big problems that could have been avoided if we had just taken care of them when they were small. Procrastination is a problem that all of us have struggled with at one time or another. But it's also a problem that, for the most part, we are able to conquer. In this episode Bruce narrates his own procrastination story and the lessons he learned about these experiences. He also answers why we tend to procrastinate, what does procrastination really cost us, how to overcome this habit, is procrastination always bad, and how we should treat ourselves and others during those times that we do procrastinate.  Follow Bruce on:  Website: https://recipesforagreatlife.com/  Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/bruce.jeppesen    Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/lifequest1  LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/bruce-jeppesen-b01a8117b  Takeaways:  01:50 What Leads to Procrastination   04:00 The Real Cost of Procrastination 07:00 The Good Side of Procrastination  10:15 How to Beat the Things That Lead You to Procrastinate 13:01 Lessons Procrastination Can Teach Us
033: Never Give Regret a Chance with Philip Sessions
2022/04/05
“Whatever you're trying to go after, just go after it. Worst case, you go back to where you are now. But don't live that life with regret. Go take a chance. Life's too short.” -Philip Sessions Life's too short to even give regret a chance. And the good news is, regret is completely avoidable if we start doing the things that scare us now.  Regret is a wasted emotion resulting from not trying hard enough to experience everything life has to offer. We do not get many do-overs in life. Live a life full of experiences, because it's too short not to!  In this episode, Bruce sits with speaker, author, and coach Philip Sessions to discuss how we can move towards our goals, even with our limitations. They also discuss simple action steps that will help us get started and going, what taking a leap of faith means, the worst thing that could happen if we try, and with what attitude we should walk this journey.  We don't get to leave a legacy for our fears - we get it for being brave enough to face them. 032: How to Live a Life UnScared with Scott Simons
2022/03/15
“I can't live in this dark side where I'm out to prove everybody wrong. I want to prove to the people that I have always been there right.” -Scott Simons  We are so busy in our daily lives that we never take the time to do what we really want to do. We just accept a regular life in the “safety” of what’s familiar to us and settle for less than what our potential is. But life doesn't have to be like this. This week, we are talking about what it’s like to live in a world where we are not scared of "what ifs". Breakfast of Champions Co-Host, Scott Simons was raised by parents who lived through the Great Depression, where scarcity mindset is a dangerous trap. But Scott was determined to follow his dream- owning his own car dealership.  Listen in as Bruce and Scott discuss what it takes to live a life unscared. They also talk about how to get over the feeling that you are not ever going to amount to something, how to increase your income, what you need to move forward, and once you’re successful, how to pay it forward.  You’re the only person who can determine how you live your life. Choose your own adventures, design your own path, and decide how you want to live. Don’t be afraid to take chances — chances are, these opportunities will lead you to a place that doesn’t exist if they never came along. 029: Branding- What It IS and What It’s NOT with David Brier
2022/02/15
“One has to be hungry to want to know. One has to be hungry to want to grow, to want to do better than their last best moment.” -David Brier The importance of a brand is essential to the success and longevity of any business. It is the primary differentiator between you and your competition. Branding also determines whether or not people will want to do business with you, as well as how they feel about your company when they leave a purchase. By creating an attractive, memorable, visual image for your business, you will be able to convey your message in a more meaningful way. Simply put, branding is the nursery for both your impact and your income.  But before going on with the actual creation of a name, design, or logo, one must understand what branding really means. This week, Bruce interviews Google's #1 Rebranding Expert, David Brier. David shares what branding is and what it is not, and how it affects how we thrive in a noisy world. He talks about the misconception around how our associations define our identity and why motivational speeches can sometimes make us weaker rather than inspired. Bruce and David also discuss how to get started with transformation, how to stay on track and not quit, why we should own our part in the conversation, and what makes great speakers great.  In today’s digital world, YOU are your brand. And while that may be a frightening reality to think about, it can also be an empowering one. Tune in and discover practical ways that can help you shape your personal brand that shines through as consistent across all platforms. 028: How to Handle Toxic Relationships Like a Sniper! with Jeramiah Solven
2022/02/08
“If you're in a toxic environment, toxic relationship, you don't need to fix them. You need to get stronger… not stronger and tolerate, but stronger and leave.” -Jeramiah Solven The most common toxic relationship is the one that you try to control in name of love. The saying goes, “if you love something, set it free” but if we feel threatened by losing what we love, oftentimes we hold on to people and things in an unhealthy way. This type of behavior stems from fear and a lack of self-love, which creates an environment of unworthiness. If you find yourself trying in this type of environment, whether it be romantic, platonic, or professional, this episode will help you identify and handle such relationships- like a sniper!  This week, Jeramiah Solven, former member of the US Army and CEO of Conquer Academy joins the stage to highlights the real problem of why many people fall and tolerate toxic relationships- FEAR. Bruce and Jeramiah also discuss why you should take chance on yourself, find a mentor who believes in you, trust your gut, examine yourself if you are driven by ego instead of confidence, and receive help gracefully instead of doing stuff on your own (even if you can do stuff on your own).  If you don’t have any reasons left to stay, don’t. But sometimes, having the courage to leave is a challenge. Tune in and discover 2 ways you can do right now to be strong and courageous to embrace the uncomfortable and confront that fear.    Follow Bruce on:  Website: https://recipesforagreatlife.com/  Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/bruce.jeppesen    Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/lifequest1  LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/bruce-jeppesen-b01a8117b  Takeaways:  02:40 Take Chance on Yourself  08:34 When You Don’t Have Reason to Stay, Don’t 13:46 There’s a Fine Line Between Confidence and Arrogance 18:04  Pick Confrontations Like a Sniper 23:08 Know Your Leader and Know How You Lead 27:07 Confront the Real Problem- Fear  31:45 Challenge Yourself- “Suffering Saturday”  37:49 Mindset Shift Starts with Untying Your MindKnots 42:33 Own the What’s Going On 44:21 Don’t Deprive Others of the Gift of Giving- Receive Well

But you have to do the right things at the right time, and follow up.” -Jeff Brekken There is no one better qualified to achieve what you want in life than YOU. And often, it’s not what we can’t do that holds us back, it’s what we don’t want to. So if success seems hard to find, maybe there are necessary steps along the way that we have failed to take. In this episode, Bruce sits with Jeff Brekken, the President and Owner of Blue Sky Benefits Solutions to talk about 5 vital steps that will get us to where we want to be in life: 1.
