The Tall Girl Slouch Is Worse Than You Think | Being Tall Comes With Physical Consequences Nobody Talks About
2026/10/22
Tall women struggle with quite a few things because of our height.
For starters, clothes. For the most part, they’re fairly short on us, or they fit awkwardly. We struggle with people’s comments about our height and body. We also struggle with how we see ourselves and with our own insecurities. However, one struggle is kinda obvious but often overlooked: posture.
Between hunching over our laptops all day and bending down awkwardly to be in photos, tall women, tall people, often endure years and years of bad posture to the point where it can cause severe damage. So, in today’s episode, we’re gonna talk about a tall woman’s posture, the consequences of years of bad posture, and how it’s way more and way worse than simply just slouching. Tune in for more!

Are Tall Women Scared of Being Tall? | The 'Big vs. Tall' Debate
2026/10/08
Tall women get called a lot of things.
Some are good like Amazon or Amazonian (depending on the context), stallion (also depending on the context), and people compare us to models and goddesses.
And of course, we also get called some pretty bad things.
We have Sasquatch, Big Foot, bean pole, string bean, skyscraper, Mommy Long Legs, this is bringing back some really bad memories, so I’m just gonna stop here. However, there’s one word that has resurfaced or has been brought back to my attention again after a while, and that’s the word ‘big’.
Yeah…tall women have a lot of thoughts on being called big, some good, some neutral, some not-so-good. So today, we’re gonna talk about the big vs. tall debate, why some tall women don’t like being called big, and why they don’t like to think of themselves as big. Tune in to the full episode for more!

Is This the Next Big Thing in Tall Fashion? | And Why Tall Clothing Is STILL Lacking ft. Everything Tall
2026/10/01
If you’re a tall girly, you know how difficult it is to find tall clothing.
I mean, how many of us have scoured the Internet for hours, even days on end, trying to find places, in-store or online, that carry clothing for our long limbs? And sometimes, we find places that provide those, or we think they provide those, only to purchase items that never actually reach our wrists or ankles.
And these frustrations led to the rise of small tall brands, or brands that exclusively sell true tall clothing. Additionally, this has led to something else I argue is a bit lesser known: tall fashion marketplaces. Think of them as online malls housing a bunch of tall brands, which I can only imagine is every tall person’s dream.
Today, I am joined by Sonia, fellow tall girl and co-founder of Everything Tall. In this episode, we’ll discuss the recent launch of Everything Tall (which is a tall marketplace), the story behind it, and why many of us struggle to find variety when it comes to tall fashion. Tune in for more!

Are Tall Women Actually the Beauty Standard? | When Being Tall Doesn’t Fit the Model Ideal
2026/09/24
Beauty standards are constantly changing, especially for women.
That’s why you can’t chase them unless you wanna run forever. But what we consider beautiful today isn’t necessarily what people considered beautiful 50 years ago, 20 years ago, or even 5 years ago. Different body types and shapes, hairstyles and colors, eye shapes and colors, skin tones – those have gone in and out of style, and social media has made those shifts even more obvious.
And when it comes to height, there’s this idea that tall women are the beauty standard, especially because many people look up to models. And models are tall.
So today, we’re gonna talk about this. We’re gonna discuss whether or not tall women are actually the beauty standard, even though so many people have a lot to say about our bodies, and we’re gonna discuss how when many people refer to tall women being the beauty standard, they’re really talking about one specific image/version of tall. This Latest Fitness Trend Isn’t Tall-Girl Friendly… | Why Working Out Is MUCH Harder for Tall Women
2026/09/17
We’re often told that it’s important to stay active and exercise for our health, especially as women.
It’s important for bone strength, mental clarity, and overall health and wellness. However, as a tall woman, exercise can be a bit difficult. Because of our longer limbs and often because we carry more weight, a lot of the movements we do feel awkward, machines at the gym are a bit harder to work with, and we may be more prone to injury from exercise.
So today, we’re talking about some of the challenges that come with exercising as a tall woman and hopefully provide some helpful tips and words of encouragement. Tune in to the full episode for more!

Will Tall Clothing Brands Survive Long-Term? | The End of The Elevated Closet & The Truth About Running a Tall Brand
2026/08/27
Shopping for clothes as a tall girly is a nightmare.
We’ve been over this, honestly, who knows how many times. We go in-store, and we can’t find much in our length or size. There’s tall-washing in online shops where brands say that they sell tall sizes or hint that they sell tall sizes when they really don’t. There are also tall options that really only fit the short girlies (5’9 - 6’0).
It can be frustrating.
And this frustration leads many tall women to start their own tall clothing brands. But what isn’t really spoken about enough or shown enough is the behind-the-scenes and the struggles of maintaining their businesses. So today, we’re gonna talk a little bit about the difficulties of owning and scaling a tall brand as well as the unfortunate closing of a very popular one. Tune in for more!

When Fashion Isn't Made for Every Body | The Unique Struggles of Finding Tall Plus-Size Clothing ft. Melanie
2026/08/13
Tall women have had their struggles with the fashion industry for the past few decades.
And this honestly comes as a bit of a shock since models are tall, whether walking down the runway IRL or appearing in photos on some of our favorite clothing sites. Well, these models are often short tall, but that’s an episode for a different day. But it’s not uncommon for a tall girly to go into a store and not be able to find pants, tops, dresses, shoes even because they’re too short or too small.
And this type of frustration has led to many tall women starting clothing brands for tall women to help solve this problem. And today, I’m interviewing one of those tall women.
I’m speaking with Melanie, fellow tall girly and co-founder of Ladies of Leisure, a clothing brand specifically for tall women. We’re going to talk about the story behind the brand, the struggles many tall women face, and some of the unique gaps in tall fashion. Tune in for more!

Why Are Tall Women Obsessed With Feeling Smaller? | How The Internet Glorifies Smaller Women's Bodies
2026/07/30
Tall women are less likely to fit into the traditional image of femininity.
It’s common for us to be called masculine because of our height and naturally larger features, since being tall and bigger are things associated with masculinity. And then on top of that, it’s a bit of a struggle to physically present ourselves in a feminine way, meaning when clothes like dresses, shoes, or even skirts aren’t available in our size or length. But that’s a topic for a different day.
But a common thing that we hear in the tall girly community, whether or not they like their height, is that they want to be or feel smaller. Some outright say that they wish that they were shorter. Others say that they want to feel small and petite and protected next to their male partners. Either way, it all ties back to wanting to feel or be smaller.
In today’s episode, we’re talking about the obsession with being smaller, how it ties into femininity, and why some tall women desire to be smaller when really, they desire to feel feminine. Tune in for more!

"I Wish I Was Tall...Just Not As Tall As You" | Getting Bullied When Our Height Is Seen As Desirable
2026/07/23
For many of us, being tall as a woman was frowned upon for much of our lives.
Growing up, our peers would say the most negative things about our height, calling us ‘big’ and making horrible jokes about our height. If we have a crush on a guy, he’d probably tell us that we’re ‘too tall’. Family members would make comments about our bodies, often comparing us to boys.
And this would happen into “teenage-hood” and adulthood, right?
People tell us we shouldn’t wear heels; male-centered short women call us masculine or compare body parts; even strangers question our gender because of our height. All of these experiences taught us that we should “hide”, that we should be smaller, and that being tall as a woman is a bad thing.
If that’s the case, then it comes as a shock that there are people out there who say that they wish that they were tall. In today’s episode, we’re going to discuss this, why this shift occurs, and why some people still insult tall women because of their height.

Why Do Tall Women Minimize Themselves for Others? | People Pleasing Tendencies in Tall Women
2026/07/16
If you’re a tall girly, or honestly a tall person, tuning in to this right now, listen to the next few questions and feel free to answer them in the comments or via my DMs.
At any point in time, have you ever found yourself slouching around shorter people?
Have you ever volunteered to be in the back of photos or even bent down in photos with shorter folks?
Has someone ever made a comment about you wearing heels, and you chose not to wear them because of it?
If you answered yes to any of these questions, those are examples of minimizing yourself for the comfort of others. While these actions seem very small, which they are, they kind of reflect people-pleasing tendencies.
In today’s episode, we’re going to discuss how many tall women are indirectly taught from a young age to minimize themselves, prioritize other people’s comfort, and develop people-pleasing tendencies. Tune in for more!

So Tall Women Make People Feel Uncomfortable? | Why People React Differently to Tall Women
2026/07/09
There are people who have a problem with tall women.
And we’ve spoken about this in quite a few episodes, whether they’ve shown it through transphobic comments, microaggressions, or even passive-aggressive questions. And if you’re a tall girly tuning in to this right now, I’m sure you can understand.
It happens when strangers give you looks. Or when coworkers treat you differently from other coworkers. Or when family members make comments about your height and body.
And at the end of the day, we all have the same question: Why?
Why do people do this? Why do people act a certain way towards us?
Well, it’s because we make people feel uncomfortable. We’re actually going to dive deeper into that idea in today’s episode and talk about how that ties into people feeling intimidated by us, so tune in for more!

The Unspoken Reality of Being A Tall Black Woman
2026/07/02
Being tall often comes with a bunch of stereotypes.
Athlete, model, masculine, intimidating, aggressive, authoritative, the list goes on and on.
And there are other physical characteristics that, when combined with height and being tall, can kind of double down on these stereotypes.
Like being tall and thin, for example, people like to associate that with being a model. Being tall and plus-sized means many people associate that with aggression and intimidation. Same if you’re tall with a more athletic build. People can even go as far as calling you masculine.
And then there’s being tall and Black as a woman, which we’ll dive into today, especially after a comment about Michelle Obama (and no, this is nothing political, as this is not that type of podcast).
But in today’s episode, we’re going to discuss that comment and how it kinda represents the tall Black woman experience. Tune in for more!

Tall Women Are EXHAUSTED | The Problem with Constant Visibility
2026/06/25
Being a tall woman is definitely a unique experience.
Oftentimes, when we enter a room, we’re the first person people see, and they stare, whether they’re in awe of our physical presence or wondering how a woman could even be that tall. Extremely brave strangers come up to us and ask us questions and make comments about our height.
And honestly, sometimes these strangers don’t even come up to us and say these things. They’ll just stare and say the comments to the person they’re with without a care in the world, even if they see that we notice them talking about us. Like y’all do know that we know when you’re talking about us, right?
But what definitely goes unnoticed is the emotional fatigue and slight burnout tall women feel from the tall girl experience. So today, we’re talking about how the stares, the comments, and how constantly being perceived can take an emotional and mental toll on tall women and affect how we show up in our everyday lives. Why Are Tall Women Bullying Other Tall Women??
2026/06/18
As tall women, we’re used to being bullied because of our height.
Maybe growing up, our classmates would ask “How’s the weather up there?” or call us things like jolly green giant or ‘67’ (I’m really not gonna get over that last one).
Little kids who are frightened by our towering presence call us monsters. Old people wonder how we’re gonna find a husband with our height. Family members and even close friends make unwarranted comments about our bodies. We’ve all experienced at least one of these things.
And that’s part of how we as tall women have built community, through these shared experiences. But apparently, the community is starting to turn on each other, aka bullying each other. And honestly, I never thought that could happen, but here we are.
In today’s episode, we’re going to discuss this and why some tall women bully other tall women, so tune in for more!

Why Aren't Tall Women Allowed to Express Their Emotions? | The Aggressive Tall Woman Stereotype
2026/06/11
We all know that height affects how we’re perceived.
As tall women, we’re often seen as strong, dominant, and assertive, which I argue can be positive. People would be more likely to respect us and take us more seriously. It could even have a positive impact on our careers.
While that’s great and all, there’s almost this imaginary fine line where one “slip up” can have us cross it, and the positive viewpoints disappear.
When we get annoyed or stand up for ourselves, we’re being aggressive or intimidating.
When we get vulnerable and feel sad or down, people around us are less likely to take care of us.
When we voice wanting to be left alone or voice our frustration, people take that as a challenge and invitation to argue or even worse, fight.
In today's episode, we’re going to discuss how having height as a tall woman affects people’s perceptions of us, and because of that, we, to a certain degree, have to suppress our emotions to avoid a negative reaction. Tune in for more!
