Knowledge Wisdom and Understanding
2026/10/21
The fear of the Lord is the foundation of knowledge, wisdom, and understanding, and all three are necessary for a life that pleases God. Knowledge is learning what is true from His Word, understanding is discerning what that truth means and how it all fits together, and wisdom is putting that truth into practice through obedience. Simply knowing Scripture without obeying it produces no spiritual growth and can lead to pride and self-deception. Wisdom is the principal thing because it directs our choices, while obedience leads to greater understanding and a desire for more knowledge. God gives these things to those who humbly seek Him, carefully study His Word, pray for wisdom, and willingly obey what they learn. The evidence is a changed life that departs from evil and reflects Christ in our speech, decisions, relationships, and daily conduct.
Before You Believe the Report
2026/10/18
God condemns both the justification of the wicked and the condemnation of the innocent. An accusation is not proof, and accepting one person's account without hearing the other side can destroy reputations, families, and even ministries. Throughout Scripture, righteous men such as Joseph, David, Naboth, and Stephen were falsely accused, and even Jesus Christ was condemned through false testimony. Righteous judgment requires honesty, impartiality, reliable evidence, and a diligent search for the whole truth. Those who willingly listen to gossip or repeat unverified accusations share responsibility for the harm they cause. Protecting the innocent is more important than satisfying the desire to punish the guilty. When the truth cannot be established, we must refrain from condemning others and trust God, who knows all things and will judge every matter justly.
Remove Not The Ancient Landmarks
2026/10/14
God has established moral and spiritual landmarks that must not be moved or changed to suit the opinions and desires of men. Just as landmarks and road signs provide direction, the unchanging truth of God's Word establishes the boundaries of right and wrong and gives order to life, family, and society. When those boundaries are removed and everyone decides for themselves what is right, confusion, division, and moral collapse follow. The answer is to seek the old paths, return to the standards God has established, and walk faithfully in them. Even when the majority turns away, a faithful remnant can restore what has been broken and preserve the truth for future generations. God's people must remain distinct from the world, raising their children with respect, discipline, and kindness, and living as the salt of the earth and the light of the world.
Expedient For You That I Go Away
2026/10/11
It was necessary for Christ to depart from this world because His physical absence was essential for the arrival of the Holy Spirit and the establishment of a true spiritual relationship with believers. It contrasts the limitations of carnal perception, which relies on physical presence and sensory experience, with the superior knowledge of Christ that comes through the Spirit of Truth. The message emphasizes that while physical presence often breeds familiarity or indifference, the risen and ascended Christ is accessible to all believers everywhere through faith, not sight. The preacher challenges the audience to move beyond superficial religious observances or idolatrous attachments to physical objects and instead seek a personal, spiritual encounter with Jesus. This encounter requires honest self-examination and a reliance on the Comforter, who reveals Christ to the heart and guides believers into all truth.
Expectation or Hope
2026/10/07
Hope and expectations are not the same. Expectations are often rooted in self-effort and merit, leading to disappointment and shame. Hope rests in God and in what He has promised, so it does not depend on everything going according to our plans. Paul could rejoice even in prison because his hope was not tied to comfort, success, or being treated fairly, but to Christ being magnified and the gospel going forward. Life, people, health, family, and circumstances will often disappoint our expectations, but they cannot destroy the hope God gives. The answer is to stop building the future around what we expect life to give us and instead trust God with whatever comes. True hope springs from faith and love rather than worldly outcomes. We should shift our focus from controlling future events to trusting in God's eternal plan, finding peace in the certainty of His character rather than the uncertainty of life's results.
Love Not the World
2026/10/04
Loving God and loving the world are incompatible because the world's values and ways are contrary to God. Salvation brings a real change in a person's life, separating them from their former way of living and turning their affections toward God, His Word, and His people. The love of the world can keep people from fully yielding to Christ and can draw professing believers away from God's work and truth. Scripture calls believers to come out from the world, refuse conformity to it, set their affection on things above, and remain faithful to God's people. The real issue is where the heart belongs, because what a person loves, enjoys, and chooses reveals whether their deepest affection is for God or for this present world.
Don't Waste Your Years of Plenty
2026/09/27
God gives us years of plenty to prepare for the lean years ahead, not to squander on selfish desires and temporary pleasures. Joseph stored Egypt's abundant harvests so that people could survive the coming famine, and that same wisdom applies to both our material and spiritual lives. While we have health, strength, resources, and people who can teach and encourage us, we need to gather what will sustain us when those advantages are gone. Saving little by little, storing the truth of God's Word in our hearts, and cultivating kindness and love in our relationships are all part of faithful stewardship. Parents, teachers, and spiritual leaders will not always be available, so we must treasure their instruction rather than assume there will always be another opportunity to listen. What we lay in store is not merely for ourselves, but also for those who will need our help. Gratitude, self-denial, and diligence make the years of plenty fruitful. Every passing day is one less opportunity to prepare, and our greatest investment is in what will sustain our souls, bless others, and endure for eternity.
Our Unchanging God
2026/09/27
God never changes, even though everything around us is constantly changing. People grow older, loved ones pass away, earthly possessions decay, and familiar ways of life disappear, but God's character, love, truth, and promises remain the same. The stability our hearts long for cannot be found in this passing world, but in Him. His Word and His established order are not ours to alter according to changing tastes and opinions. Our calling is to remain steadfast in His truth while growing in the grace and knowledge of Jesus Christ. Heaven will bring an end to the wearying changes that cause sorrow, confusion, sickness, and loss. God's people will enjoy everlasting rest and complete contentment in His presence, where nothing will decay, no one will die, and the goodness of life with Him will never pass away. Until then, we can trust His unchanging hand and build our hope on things eternal.
Setting Light By Father and Mother
2026/09/23
Honoring father and mother is a lifelong command from God, carrying a promise of blessing and a serious responsibility to show respect, gratitude, and practical care. To "set light by" parents is to treat them with contempt, dismiss their worth, or regard their needs as an unwanted burden. Religious gifts, church attendance, and outward devotion cannot replace obedience to this command. Honor does not require pretending that parents have never done wrong, but their failures do not excuse personal wrongdoing or remove each person's accountability before God. Forgiveness and a refusal to act out of bitterness are essential, even in difficult family relationships. Children need to be taught this respect from their earliest years, and that responsibility continues into adulthood, especially when aging parents need care and assistance. Honoring parents is a foundational part of love and order in the home and society. God takes both its observance and its violation seriously, and genuine love for Him must reach beyond religious words into the way parents are treated.
God Can Make You Forget
2026/09/20
Joseph's naming of Manasseh and Ephraim shows how God brought him through years of injustice, slavery, and imprisonment into a life of peace, purpose, and fruitfulness. Manasseh means God made him forget, not by erasing the past, but by freeing him from rehearsing the bitterness, hurt, and loss that had plagued his mind. Ephraim means God made him fruitful, proving that Joseph's life was not wasted in the dungeon and that his suffering had prepared him to save and bless others. The way forward after deep hurt is not to keep circling the past in sorrow, self-pity, or bitterness, but to trust God, stop remembering what cannot be changed, and look ahead to the purpose He still has. Forgetfulness had to come before fruitfulness, and Joseph's life shows that God can restore the years that seemed lost and make a wounded life useful, fruitful, and full of blessing.
Do Not Be Offended
2026/09/13
Jesus warned His disciples ahead of time so they would not stumble, quit, or be stopped when persecution came. John 16 shows that the hatred they would face would not only come from the openly wicked world, but also from religious people who believed they were serving God while rejecting Christ and harming His followers. The word "offended" means more than having hurt feelings; it means being hindered, caused to stumble, or stopped in the way. Real faith must be grounded in the words of Jesus so it can endure when trouble, rejection, slander, misunderstanding, or persecution comes. True believers will continue in Christ because they belong to Him, abide in Him, and cannot be separated from Him, even when the world and false religion oppose them. Believers must know what Jesus said, expect tribulation, refuse to quit over hurt or opposition, and let their light shine faithfully in a world that hates the truth.
True Worship
2026/09/02
We are shown through Jesus' conversation with the woman at the well that true worship must be centered on the Father and grounded in both spirit and truth. Many people are willing to talk about worship and religion while avoiding the truth about their sin, just as the woman shifted the conversation from her immoral life to the question of where to worship. Jesus did not allow her diversion to take control, but lovingly and wisely brought her face to face with the truth about herself, her false worship, and her need for God. Believers must not be deceived with this common modern type of worship that is built only on emotion, music, tradition, or religious excitement, and seek true worship that responds to the truth of God's Word through the witness of the Holy Spirit.
Hated For His Name's Sake
2026/08/30
Jesus makes it as clear as possible that if we truly belong to Christ, the world will hate us because it hated Him first. John 15 makes it clear that there are only two spiritual camps: those who belong to Christ and those who belong to the world, and that a real disciple of Christ will not fit comfortably into a world that hates God, righteousness, and truth. Kindness, good works, and religious profession will not remove the reproach of Christ, because the world's hatred is ultimately against Jesus Himself and all who bear His name. The message calls us to openly confess Christ, live unashamed of His name, bear His reproach faithfully, and remember that whatever we suffer for Him now will be worth it when we stand before Him.
Everyday Evangelism
2026/08/26
Christ's dealing with the woman at the well shows believers how to speak to souls wisely, personally, and with God at the center. From John 4 we see that true evangelism often happens in ordinary daily encounters, not in organized campaigns, and that believers should be ready to speak first, use everyday circumstances as a doorway, and turn the conversation toward God and eternal things. We can see how Jesus moved the woman from earthly thoughts about water and daily burdens to the deeper need of her soul, eventually bringing her sin into the light without a careless or confrontational approach. Believers need to be filled with the Word of God, alert to divine appointments, willing to speak a good word for the Lord, and careful to let God expose the heart so sinners may come face to face with Him, their sin, and the living water only Christ can give.
Jesus Loves Me This I Know
2026/08/23
To love God supremely is the fundamental duty of man, as well as the foundation of true salvation, obedience, and Christian living. From John 15:9 and other scriptures, the Bible teaches that Christ loves His people as the Father loves Him, and He told us to "continue in his love." Real love is not merely emotion, religious zeal, loyalty, or words, but a life that gives itself to God in obedience and sacrifice. Love is not love unless it puts to death the selfish, self-centered heart, and esteems God and others more than ourselves. Do not be deceived by your emotional feelings toward God if you are living in disobedience to his Word. Love lives only in deeds, and the kind of love God commands from us is not feelings and emotion, but recognizing his greatness and goodness and laying down our lives for Him.
