MEET DR RONAK PATEL Been a dentist since 2003. Moved to Australia 2011. All my success is down to my wife. Oakleigh dentist, Dr Ronak (Ron) Patel graduated from London’s prestigious Guy’s, King’s and St Thomas’ Dental School in 2003, before working extensively in private dental practices throughout the UK. Drawing on his impressive experiences as a dentist, he decided to establish his own practice with his wife Priya, who is also a dentist. Ron and Priya then immigrated to Melbourne in 2011 where they joined the East Melbourne Dental Group. With their unparalleled experience in dentistry and passion for providing the highest quality of health care, the practice soon became the most reputable of its kind within the city. MEET DR. BEN LEE Ben completed his MDSc in Prosthodontics from the University of Sydney. During this time, he was given the Young Prosthodontist Award by The International College of Prosthodontists. He is past President of the Australian Prosthodontic Society (NSW) and Australian Asian Association of Dentists. He is a mentor for implant diploma courses offered by the USYD and CSU. In addition, being a visiting honorary Clinical Lecturer at the USYD and a frequent presenter for Nobel Biocare, Ben frequently presents on the topic of dental implants and fixed prosthodontics nationally. As a prosthodontist, Ben works full-time in his referral based specialist centre in Chatswood, Sydney, with particular interest in the surgical and restorative aspects of dental implant treatment. Watch the full video ep on www.cpdjunkie.com.au/podcast MEET DR ANDREW CHIO Dr Andrew Chio completed his dental degree from the University of Melbourne in 1995 where he graduated at the top of his year and was awarded with several awards for clinical achievement. While practicing dentistry predominantly in a private setting, Dr Chio has also previously worked in the public system, participated in clinical programs with the Royal Flying Doctors and worked in a rural hospital in Nepal, giving him a wide perspective of the demands and challenges of general dentistry. Dr Chio maintains an active role in dental education through his involvement with the undergraduate teaching in Melbourne and La Trobe University and his involvement in various Continuing Education Programs. He has also, in the past, worked with and assisted well-known dental teachers in their programs both in Australia and Asia, including Dr Jason Smithson, Mauro Fradeani and Pascal Magne. He has published articles in restorative dentistry in various dental publications as well as in peer-reviewed journals. Dr Chio also serves in several Dental Committees including as a committee member of the Australian Prosthodontic Society (VIC), MDS CPD Committee and was the previous Federal treasurer of the Australian Prosthodontic Society. MEET DR BOBBY CHHOKER Dr. Bobby Chhoker graduated from United Medical and Dental Schools of Guys and St Thomas’ Hospitals (UMDS) with a Bachelor’s Degree in 1997. He then went on to complete a Masters (MSc) Degree in Implant Dentistry from the University of Warwick and was invited to become a member of the International Academy of Dental and Facial Aesthetics. Dr. Chhoker was principal of his own business Harley Street Dental Care in Harley Street London where there was an emphasis on implant treatment and TMJ Disorders. He has been extensively involved in lecturing and tutoring postgraduate dentists on the One Diploma course in Implantology at the GIFT College in affiliation with Warwick University. MEET DR MALAK FOUDA Dr Malak graduated dentistry with honours from the University of Queensland in 2018. Since then she has been ADAQ Recent Graduates and Students Committee Convenor to help navigate the transition for students from university life to being a new graduate dentist. She helped run the ADAQ recent graduate study club as she has a passion for mentoring and supporting new and recent graduates. She is a VIVA examiner for The University of Queensland. She currently works in private practice with Dr Nauv Kashyap and helps co-ordinate his graduate mentoring program alongside Dr Sahil Soni. MEET DR GEOFFREY WAN Dr Geoffrey Wan graduated from the University of Sydney in 2006.  Shortly afterwards, he left and went to USA to pursue further education. During his time in USA, Geoff has developed a keen interest in working with children, the elderly, cosmetic dentistry, oral surgery, removable prosthodontics. Geoff has since returned to Australia in 2012, along with his wife Kia, and has made Sydney his new home.   He has become a business owner, and grew it significantly over in 6 years. He is a jack of all trades, master of none. He aims to impact as many patients during his time in practice and helping a few dentists along the way. MEET DR. BRYAN BLUHM Dr. Bryan Bluhm grew up in Newcastle, NSW where he initially completed his electrical trade Upon gaining entry to Griffith University he made the move to the sunny Gold Coast where Bryan went on to graduate with a Master’s of Dentistry in 2019, in which he achieved the Chancellor’s Award for Academic Excellence. MEET DR. ALEX KHOMINSKY Graduated Dux and Moore Medallion at the University of Adelaide, and with a First Class Bachelor of Science in Dentistry (Research Honours). Completed Primaries with Distinction (RACDS). Worked as a new grad at the Alfred Hospital doing general dentistry on medically compromised patients. Worked in private in SE Melbourne for another 2 years before starting Perio Postgrad at Melbourne. Massive believer in the recent grad CPD journey, so much so, co-founded General Dental Residency to create a 12 month program for early career dentists to improve the foundations of general practice. MEET DR. MOHIT TOLANI He is a regional dental surgeon based in Dapto, New South Wales, who, in addition to undertaking professional development studies and leadership commitments ranging across nationally, has altruistically devoted his time to various career and community initiatives. Mohit graduated as a dentist from Griffith University in the Gold Coast. More recently, also completed a double degree of Master of Public Health and Master of Health Management from UNSW and Graduate Certificate in Health and Medical Leadership from The University of Wollongong.
