This week on the Exciting & New podcast, Jason, Andy and Dana welcome Brian back on the show to discuss the 1986 horror flick Poltergeist 2:  The Other Side.  The other side, huh?  So if the first movie was the good side, that makes this the bad side.  Our old producer Brian joins us as we punch down on this steaming turd that doesn't even acknowledge Dominique Dunne's passing or where her character is in this movie.  It also carries on the "Polergeist curse" with three of the stars dying very soon after filming.  Nothing good comes out of this movie.  We finish up our Halloween season on Saturday with Texas Chainsaw Massacre 1 & 2.  We'll have a lot more fun with those.  Enjoy all these podcasts!! Jason, Andy and Dana will discuss a 1986 movie weekly, breaking down all the nonsense there within. The 3 hosts all work together and everyone else around them was getting really annoyed at all the movie talk, so they decided to annoy the world in podcast form. Check out previous seasons to hear them discuss 1982, 1983, 1984 & 1985 movies, as well as a full season of Love Boat episodes (if that is your thing). Plus one-off specials and a weekly mini "what are we watching" podcast. #jezoo74 #aegonzo1 #danacapoferri #exciting_new

This week on the Exciting & New podcast, Jason, Andy and Dana welcome Becky back on the show as they discuss the 1986 comedy Haunted Honeymoon.   In this supposed comedy, three of our all-time favs (Gene, Gilda and Dom) unite to make a Young Frankenstein rip off that just goes wrong from almost every possible angle.  Not since 3 Amigos, all the way back in August, did a movie with such a high pedigree for comedy fail to deliver so spectacularly.  We point out all the times we actually laughed in this movie and that only takes about a minute to get through.  The rest of the time we just rip this movie apart.  Gilda deserved better for a last movie.  Enjoy the podcast!! This week on the Exciting & New podcast, Jason, Andy and Dana welcome Anthony back on the show to discuss the 1986 horror flick Psycho 3.  You know the story.  Boy meets girl.  Boy spies on girl.  Mom stabs girl to death in the shower.  Norman Bates is back in charge of the motel, and Mother is back in charge of Norman.  We do a deep dive into this one, and the whole Psycho franchise (up to this point), as we all watched parts 1 & 2 to prepare for 3.   And to no one's surprise, we all really like the Psycho franchise (up to this point).  I'm not going to say "Go back and watch 1, 2 & 3 and then listen to the podcast"  But do yourself a favor and go back and watch 1, 2 & 3 and then listen to the podcast.   Enjoy!! This week on the Exciting & New podcast, Jason, Andy and Dana welcome Connor back on the show as they discuss the 1986 horro flick Troll.  In this (accoring to wikipedia) dark fantasy comedy, Harry Potter trys to save his sister from becoming a troll (I think).  Honestly I already forgot what this movie is about and it's only been a week since I saw it.  It is just terrible.  But Sonny Bono (who we had to explain to Connor), the mom from Lost in Space and a young Elaine Benes come along for a paycheck. We've been pretty lucky this Halloween season, but the luck runs out here.  Skip the flick, but enjoy the podcast!! This week on the Exciting & New podcast, Jason, Andy and Dana welcome Mike back on the show as they discuss the 1986 horror movie Night of the Creeps.  This movie is a lot of things.  It's a black and white 50s throwback.  It's a sci-fi movie with actual factual aliens in it.  It's a zombie movie with alien slugs infesting the humans.  It's even got some slasher DNA in it.  Do all these disparate genres come together, or does it make this movie a 90 minute slog?  We would definitely say watch the movie and find out.  And then listen to the podcast.  Enjoy!! This week on the Exciting & New podcast, Jason, Andy and Dana welcome Mac and Lauren on the show as they discuss the 1986 horror flick, From Beyond.  This H.P. Lovecraft penned body horror film, the spirital successor to Re-Animator, has a bunch of horned up scientists stimulating the pineal gland with horrific results.  Things go sideways from the jump as the head scientist gets sucked into another dimension in the first scene, and comes back as a monster bent on sexng up the staff.  Hilarity ensues.  Enjoy the podcast!! This week on the Exciting & New podcast, Jason, Andy and Dana welcome Troy back on the show as they discuss the 1986 horrorish sci-fi movie The Wraith.  Apparently Charlie Sheen had a layover in Arizona on his way to Asia to film Platoon, and he used the couple hours that gave him to film an entire movie where he plays a car, a kid named Jamie and a kid named Jack.   You would need tigers blood too, to handle all those rolls. This movie feels a little like Christine (killer car) and a little like every revenge movie ever made (killing the killers), but somehow it all seems to work.  This movie was obviously made on a shoe string budget but they got to use a prototype Dodge Turbo Interceptor, which looks pretty cool.  Enjoy the podcast!!
