Eagles Survive, AJ Brown Gets Instant Karma & The Phillies Are Killing Us (Again)
2026/09/17
Week 1 is in the books and Philly is already unwell. 🦅💔 Dave, Kenny, and Riley (lol) break down the Eagles' win over the Commanders — Jalen Hurts sitting top-2 or 3 on every advanced stats chart they could pull up, Dontayvion Wicks looking like a legit problem after that ridiculous double-move grab, and an offensive line that felt terrible live but somehow graded out fine (make it make sense). Plus: the Jalen Carter debate nobody asked for — blocked-kick hero or quietly bad all game? — and a very deserved victory lap on AJ Brown's rough debut in New England. Then it's over to the Phillies, who are doing their annual September mood swing. Kevin Long is getting torched, the Luzardo IR explanation has the guys suspicious, and they finally settle it: Wheeler or Luzardo as your Game 1 postseason starter? Also in this one: Kenny finally has internet and still ran away in the first 30 seconds, the story behind Dave losing his Spotify account over a copyright strike, and a Week 2 Eagles-Titans preview (spoiler: they're laying the touchdown). 🦅⚾ New episodes of Philly Sports Love & Pain every week-ish — Eagles talk, Phillies talk, Philly pain, Philly love. Follow so you don't miss one, and hit us with your takes. Topics: Eagles vs. Commanders recap, Jalen Hurts stats, Dontayvion Wicks, AJ Brown Patriots debut, Jalen Carter blocked kick, Eagles offensive line, Phillies Kevin Long, Luzardo injury, Zack Wheeler, Phillies NL East race, Eagles Titans Week 2 preview
Eagles 2026 Season Predictions: Life After A.J. Brown (Full Schedule Breakdown)
2026/09/09
The Eagles traded A.J. Brown to the Patriots. Nick Sirianni's already hearing his name in the same sentence as "hot seat." And somehow Kenny's internet chose tonight, of all nights, to completely fall apart. Welcome to the 2026 Eagles season preview. Dave and Kenny are joined by Mike, Joe, and Gordy for a full round-table breakdown of the Eagles' 2026 season — recorded live the night before kickoff. The guys go week-by-week through the entire schedule calling their own win-loss predictions, debate whether the Eagles are actually better without A.J. Brown, argue about whether they trust the receiver room (Saquon Barkley, Dallas Goedert, rookie Makai Lemon, and new addition Dontayvion Wicks all get put on the clock), and dig into what a healthier, faster-snapping offense could look like under a new offensive coordinator after last year's late-clock disasters. By the end, every guest lands somewhere between 8-5 and 11-6 for the regular season — and every single one of them names the same team as the Eagles' playoff kryptonite. You'll have to listen to find out who. In this episode:The A.J. Brown trade reaction and whether it's addition by subtraction. Why nobody fully trusts the receiver corps. Saquon Barkley's expanded role in the passing game. Jalen Hurts and the "he has to run" debate. A full week-by-week 2026 schedule prediction from all five guys. NFC East odds and why nobody's buying the Cowboys hype. The one team the Eagles can't seem to shake in the playoffs. Schwarbombs, a Win Streak, and Cut Day
2026/08/27
Kyle Schwarber is out here breaking a 3-year franchise drought with a walk-off blast, the Phillies just ripped off 9 straight wins (16-5 in August, thank you very much), and somehow that's still not the most chaotic thing happening in Philly sports this week. Dave and Kenny are back — once the WiFi decides to cooperate — to break down the Phillies' historic ninth-inning comeback over the Cardinals, capped by Schwarber's 459-foot walk-off shot after the team was down to its final strike. They debate whether Don Mattingly deserves real job security after dragging this team back from a 9-19 grave, dig into Zack Wheeler's mystery command issues right before the playoff push, and give Andrew Painter his flowers for quietly becoming a problem on the mound. Then it's over to the Eagles, where roster cut day is bearing down, Andy Dalton and Tanner McKee are fighting for their NFL lives, and Jalen Hurts is breaking in offensive coordinator number six like it's just part of the job now. The guys run their own extremely scientific receiving-yard projections for the new-look WR room, argue about whether preseason football should even exist, and still find time for a fantasy football gut-check, a full Pop-Tart flavor debate, and a WiFi rant for the ages. Grab a beer and let Dave and Kenny walk you through the best week of Philly sports in recent memory — struggle and all. 🔔 New episodes every week during football season — follow Philly Sports Love & Pain so you never miss it⭐ Leave a review, it actually helps more than you'd think📱 Follow us on socials for clips all week long
LeBron Saves Philly, Phillies Blow It, Eagles Report to Camp: The Most Philly Week Ever
2026/07/29
Dave and Kenny pour one out (literally, Eagle Rare in honor of LeBron) for the wildest week in Philly sports in years. LeBron James is a Sixer. The Phillies looked completely lost against the Marlins. And the Eagles report to training camp tomorrow whether anyone's emotionally ready or not. The guys break down how Jaylen Brown had to happen before LeBron would ever consider Philly, argue about whether Embiid being a "fourth option" is actually a problem or the dumbest sports take of the summer, and go full nostalgia mode on Greg Dobbs and the 2008 team while roasting the current Phillies bullpen (there is no eighth inning guy, there just isn't). Trade deadline names get thrown around — Mick Abel (lol), Harper back to right field, the usual "do we have the prospects to make a real move" spiral. Then it's Eagles training camp eve: why moving camp to the Jefferson Health Complex killed the vibe, the case for keeping it at Lehigh, and a hard truth about A.J. Brown's inevitable "Philly was just a stop" era in New England. Plus: a full derail into Flyers fans still salty about a second-round sweep, and why nobody in this city is allowed to just be happy.
USA Gets Smoked by Belgium, Sixers Land Jaylen Brown & The Great Pizza Pricing Conspiracy
2026/07/08
Kenny is back from a week with "the Mouse" (and Dave proclaims the hottest weather Philly's seen in years) with ZERO chill and a LOT to unpack. 🔥 First up: Team USA forgot defense exists and got dropped by Belgium, and the boys break down every single reason why — offside rule conspiracies, a soccer ball with a literal heartbeat sensor, and a very strong case for chip technology in the NBA. Sports fans, prepare to feel personally attacked. Then it's actual Philly business: the Sixers pulled off the Jrue Holiday trade, flipping Paul George's contract, and Dave & Kenny debate whether Jaylen Brown was worth it, whether Joel Embiid's health is the whole season, and why nobody trusts VJ Edgecombe yet. Over on the ice, it's a full Flyers offseason autopsy — Rasmus Ristolainen, the Cam York/offer-sheet drama with a ticking July 10th clock, and a full-blown "is Claude Giroux a Hall of Famer" debate backed by actual stats (spoiler: the guys did their homework). Baseball gets ugly too — Trea Turner's error torched Cristopher Sánchez's Cy Young campaign in real time, the Phillies are floating trade deadline names, and there's a legitimately unhinged tangent about Alec Bohm's batting average that turns into a full financial analysis. And because this is Philly Sports Love & Pain, obviously we detour hard into: a restaurant pricing audit that should be studied in economics classrooms (why does taking sauce OFF a pizza cost you MORE, Santucci's??), toddler growth spurts, Toy Story 4 vs. 5 hot takes, and a Gus Johnson Penn State call that ends the show on the highest possible note. Eagles training camp is 3 weeks out — AJ Brown and the new offense talk kicks off before the guys sign off till the 21st. 🏒🏀⚾🏈 Philly sports fans, hit play. This one's got everything except a functional USA defense.
Three Strikes, Trea's Out. Trea Turner is batting .219 with a $300 MILLION contract and Don Mattingly said 'someone has to hit there.' Is Trea OK?!
2026/06/16
Tray Turner is cooked. Or is he? The guys debate whether Philly's most expensive shortstop is just going through a rough patch or officially on the "what were we thinking" list. Kenny drops a take so reasonable it actually makes sense, which is deeply alarming to everyone involved. From there, it's a full-on Philly fever dream: the 2022 World Series run (still not over it), the ghost of AJ Brown torching his way out of town, the Sixers owner making headlines for all the WRONG reasons, and a deep-dive into whether Zack Wheeler can carry this team on his back through October. But let's be honest — the real content starts when someone brings up spaghetti and eggs with ketchup. Yes. That happened. And yes, it became a full-blown court case with testimony from the actual defendant. Also on the docket: scrapple vs. hot dogs ( SUPER philosophical), the best chicken wing sauces, AI taking over college papers, conspiracy theories, and a viral video that genuinely changed Kenny's approach to road rage forever. Kenny's headed to Florida. Philly's six games over .500. The Dodgers are probably winning the World Series again. And somehow, none of that stops us from talking about Rosenberger's iced tea for ten minutes. New episodes drop every two weeks. Is Jalen Hurts Elite? Flyers Playoffs, Sixers Cap Hell & Phillies Pitching Dominance | Philadelphia Sports
2026/05/28
Philadelphia Eagles, Phillies, Flyers, and Sixers — Dave and Kenny are back with a full breakdown of everything happening in Philly sports right now. On this episode of Philly Sports, Love and Pain: Is Jalen Hurts actually an elite NFL quarterback, or has Philadelphia Eagles fan patience officially run out? The guys debate what the Eagles need at the position — a dynamic dual-threat or a true pocket passer — and why Matthew Stafford might be the most underrated quarterback conversation in the NFL. The Philadelphia Sixers cap situation gets dissected. With bad contracts stacking up across the roster, is there a realistic path to contention, or is this another rebuild in disguise? Philadelphia Flyers fans finally have something to be excited about — but how long before the fanbase turns? Dave and Kenny break down the Flyers playoff push, the Carter Hart fallout, Chuck Fletcher's legacy of damage, and whether this young core can actually build something sustainable in Philadelphia. The Philadelphia Phillies are rolling at Citizens Bank Park, one of the best home records in MLB history. Live in-game reaction, Bryce Harper, Trea Turner, Brandon Marsh, JT Realmuto, and a full breakdown of why the Phillies are legitimate 2025 World Series contenders. Plus: the gambling ad problem on Philadelphia sports radio, why betting the NBA is a trap, the never-ending Philadelphia sports curse, and the age-old question — does this city actually love its teams, or just love suffering? Topper. Out.
2026/04/29
Well...they've done it. The Phillies have played so poorly as a team that they got the winningest manager in franchise history FIRED. Wild. Now that Topper has fallen on the sword, how will the team respond under the Donny Baseball regime? Obviously they'll probably start hitting and winning because...baseball...lmao The Flyers came out of the gate playing GREAT hockey, took a 3-0 series lead, and that's the worst thing that could have happened...lol...coming in for a landing, and boy oh boy we're praying they get it together... The Eagles completed another seemingly successful draft grabbing a nice WR and a stud TE. Proof is in the pudding, but the national sentiment is AGAIN positive for the birds. The Sixers are fighting against the Celtics, and I guess that's the best we can hope for from them. The franchise is in a weird place with all of the Embiid injuries, and they have nown forced a Game 6 with the Celtics. Can they pull off the upset? Seems like no...but we shall see...
Flyers. Playoffs. LETS GO!!
2026/04/16
PLAYOFF HOCKEY is returning to Philly, and we are stoked!!! It has been what feels like forever since we have had this vibe around the Flyers, and it's ELECTRIC to have hockey back in our lives... The Sixers are officially the 7 seed and there's NO JUICE around this Sixers team...so of course they will probably make a deep playoff run. HAHAHAHA. We shall see. The Phillies are going through it here in the early season, but the one thing everyone needs to realize is that a baseball season is a MARATHON, not a sprint. Can they right the ship and start stringing some wins together?
Playoff Hockey?!?
2026/04/08
We are GEEKED UP about the Flyers chances of seeing the postseason for the first time since 2020, but those playoffs didn't feel real because there were no people...lol...so really, the first time since 2018. If the Flyers can solidify themselves into the post, strap in because Philly is going to be ELECTRIC. Phillies get off to a wobbly start but normalize quickly. Now, time to see if they can get the bats going and sustain a win streak rather than play .500 ball. Win 15 a month...that's the goal.
Opening Week and Flyers Juice
2026/03/25
We have REAL Phillies baseball this week, and we can't wait...some of you, however, need to pump the brakes on the hate wagon...The Flyers actually have some life and might just make a run a postseason appearance...the loss that happened live on the pod doesn't help...but they're not dead yet!Kenny self diagnoses himself with Chronomentrophobia and tells a hilarious massage story from his recent trip...😂We wrap with some great cereal convo...because of course
Baseball Is Back (and the Eagles keep hurting us)
2026/03/11
WE ARE BACK....and man it was great to get back talking Philly sports. We dive into everything that has gone down in the last month or so including the Eagles, Phillies, Flyers, and Sixers. We'll see you again in two weeks...but for now, enjoy this gem. lmao
One And Done
2026/01/14
The Eagles didn't show up in the playoffs and we shouldn't be surprised. This offense has been horrendous all season, and once again on Sunday they did the same thing. Pulling up with an L at the Linc against a completely injured and damaged 49ers team. They also make the move they should have made in week 6 and fired Kevin Patullo. Now, who will be the next OC? We wait and see...
2 Seed Don't Care?
2026/01/07
The Eagles chose to rest players and were not concerned with playing for the 2 seed on Sunday. Now we move into the playoffs this weekend and we'll see if they made the right choice. With a fully rested offense, we better see some explosive plays out of this team against a 49ers team that is essentially a walking infirmary. All of that being said, we both have the birds taking it down on Sunday. LFG Birds!!!
What's The Plan?
2025/12/17
So the Eagles essentially can't lose the NFC East, and can't really improve beyond the 3 seed...so what now? Dave says win now and rest these guys, but DONT risk Jalen if he is REMOTELY injured going into this week at the field...well...we all know what has happened at this field. We shall see... Oh, and HAPPY BOWL SEASON!

I’ve listened to over 100,000 podcasts and this one is the best
Kenny’s voice is a little nasal but honestly I think it works for the group dynamic. 5/5 would recommend to a friend
