252. 3 Questions to Ask Yourself to Have a Better Weekend (MVP)
2026/10/08
Book a Consult Call:  https://lowerylifecoaching.com/consultcall/ Have you ever made it to Sunday night and thought to yourself, “where the heck did the weekend go?”  When we are overwhelmed and have a lot of mental energy going to the care of our families, it can be all too easy to not be intentional with how you spend your time.  This episode is a replay of an oldie but a goodie, where I share 3 questions to ask yourself that help you stay present and be intentional with your time.
251. How to Stop Procrastinating on the Things You Dread
2026/10/01
You know that thing you’ve been putting off because you just do NOT want to deal with it? The email you need to send. The paperwork you need to fill out.The phone call you need to make. The pile of stuff you need to put away. You keep avoiding it because you’re trying to avoid the dread you feel when you think about doing it. But what if avoiding the dread is actually making it worse? In this episode, I’m sharing a simple, and incredibly useful tool called Dread Sprints that helps you do the opposite of what your brain wants to do when you’re procrastinating. This is a simple little mindset shift that can help you stop dragging the same task around with you all day, all week, or all month. If you have something you’ve been avoiding, you’ll want to listen to this one.
250. What Does It Take for You to Thrive?
2026/09/24
What if the reason you’re struggling isn’t because you need to try harder? When a plant isn’t doing well, we don’t immediately blame the plant. We look at the sunlight, water, soil, pot, and environment and ask, “What does this plant need in order to thrive?” But when WE are struggling, we’re much more likely to turn inward and decide we’re the problem. We need to be more productive, or more disciplined, or better organized. In this episode, I’m inviting you to approach yourself a little differently. You’ll learn how to get curious about what you actually need in order to function well, create more ease, have more joy, and show up more fully in your life. Not as a way to blame your circumstances or avoid responsibility, but as a way to stop wasting energy fighting yourself and start making intentional changes that actually help.
249. How to Get Out of the "It's All Too Much" Feeling
2026/09/17
Book a Consult Call: https://lowerylifecoaching.com/consultcall/ Have you ever looked around at everything that needs to be done and thought, I can't handle this, it's just all too much? When you're a special needs mom, it's easy for the house, the paperwork, the appointments, and all the little things you've been putting off to start feeling like one giant, impossible problem. But overwhelm isn't always a sign that you have too much to do. Sometimes, it's a sign that your brain has lost track of what's actually important, what's manageable, and what can wait. In this episode, we'll talk about how to get some of that mental weight off your shoulders, figure out what actually needs your attention, and stop feeling like every task is an emergency. Because you don't need to get your whole life together today. You need a way to see what's in front of you and know, Okay, I can handle this.
248. When You Resent the Life You Never Chose
2026/09/10
“I didn’t choose this.” If you’ve ever thought that as a special needs mom, you’re not alone. There are parts of this life you never would have picked. And sometimes, that can leave you feeling angry, resentful, or stuck wishing things were different. In this episode, we’re taking that thought and putting it through a process that will help lift the heavy pain that comes with it. The goal isn't to convince you that thought isn't true, or that you should just be grateful. It’s to help you see that even in a life you didn’t choose, you may have more agency, choice, and freedom than you realize.
247. How to Build Your Confidence as a Special Needs Mom
2026/09/03
In episode 246, we talked about what it means to have confidence as a special needs mom, and why it's more important than you might think. In this episode, I'm sharing the easy, simple ways you can start BUILDING that confidence in your own life. I share: How confidence impacts your daily life as a momHow to build self-trust with small, doable actionsOvercoming the need for external approvalWhy you should listen to your gut and instincts
246. What Confidence Really Means for Special Needs Moms
2026/08/27
As a special needs mom, you can be incredibly capable and still constantly second-guess yourself, overthink, seek reassurance, worry about what other people think, or feel like you should be handling things better. In this episode, we’ll talk about what confidence actually is, the signs that you may be lacking confidence, and why building confidence is so important when you’re raising a child with disabilities. In this episode, you’ll learn: What confidence really means Why perfectionism, people-pleasing, overthinking, and self-doubt can be connected to confidence Why confidence matters so much for special needs moms How confidence can change the way you navigate your life, your parenting, and the challenges that come with raising a child with disabilities This is Part One of a two-part conversation about confidence. In the next episode, we’ll talk about how to actually rebuild self-trust and become more confident.
245. The Best 5-Minute Journaling Exercises for Special Needs Moms
2026/08/20
If you have 5 minutes, I honestly think this might be one of the most impactful things you can do for yourself. Just 5 minutes of writing. Journaling can help you get thoughts out of your head, process emotions, see situations more clearly, and notice patterns you might not see when you're just trying to push through your day. And when you're a special needs mom carrying approximately 47,000 thoughts at any given moment? 😂 Getting some of them OUT of your head can make a huge difference. In this week's episode, I'm sharing 4 simple writing exercises that I’ve found to be some of the most impactful, not because they take a long time, but because they can actually change the way you think and feel. You don't need to be “a journaler" or have a pretty notebook, and you definitely don't need an hour.
244. The Antidote for Perfectionism
2026/08/13
Despite what many might think, perfectionism isn't striving for excellence... it's fear. It's our brain's attempt to avoid feeling something we are afraid of feeling, like failure or embarrassment. In this episode, I'm sharing my personal experience with perfectionism and the surprising antidote that came from something my 9 year old daughter said.
243. How to Create a Life You Actually Enjoy
2026/08/06
Have you ever looked at your life and thought, “This isn’t what I pictured”? As special needs moms, it is so easy to get stuck focusing on what’s hard, like the appointments, the extra responsibilities, the things we’ve had to give up, and the ways life looks different than we imagined. But what if creating a life you enjoy doesn’t require your circumstances to completely change? In this episode, we’re talking about how to intentionally create a life you actually like living ...even when parts of your life are still really hard. 242. Connection vs. Disconnection (MVP)
2026/07/30
Have you ever crawled into bed at the end of the day completely exhausted... but somehow still felt like you accomplished nothing? And then there are those rare days where you're just as tired, but it feels different. The kind of tired where your heart feels full. Where you feel like your energy was well-spent (like the exhaustion after spending all day at the beach!) In this episode, we're talking about the difference between those two kinds of exhaustion, and why it has far less to do with how much is on your plate than you probably think. As special needs moms, our lives are busy. That isn't changing. But the way we experience that busyness can. If you've been feeling like every task is just one more thing you have to do, this episode will help you reconnect with the reason behind it all. Not in a toxic positivity kind of way, and not by pretending the hard parts aren't hard. But by learning how to shift from simply getting through the day to actually feeling present and living in it.
241. How to Create More Agency in Your Life
2026/07/23
The other day, I took my son to an appointment at one of the most inaccessible buildings we've ever been to. And as you can imagine, I left feeling more than a little frustrated. On the drive home, I kept thinking about everything they should have done differently. And while I still believe they should have, I realized I was giving so much of my energy to something I couldn't change. That's when I started thinking about Mel Robbins' "Let Them" theory, and especially the part she calls "Let Me." In this episode, I'm sharing what happened, how I worked through it, and why I think this mindset can be so powerful for us as special needs moms. Because let's be honest... there are so many things in this life that we don't get to control, like other people's choices, broken systems, insurance, or accessibility. The list goes on and on. But that doesn't mean we don't have any power. If you've been feeling like life is happening TO you instead of feeling like you have a say in how you experience it, let this episode give you a fresh perspective.
240. How to Create a More Organized Life (Physically and Mentally)
2026/07/16
What if getting organized has less to do with bins and labels, and more to do with what's happening in your mind? In this episode, I'm talking about the connection between clutter, overwhelm, and the thoughts that keep us holding on to things we don't actually need. I'll share how mindset work completely changed the way I approach organization, why scarcity thinking keeps us stuck, and the simple questions that make decluttering so much easier. If you've been waiting until you have the time or motivation to finally "get organized," this episode is for you.
239. Creating vs. Coping
2026/07/09
As special needs moms, we become really good at coping. We learn how to handle the appointments, the uncertainty, the decisions, the challenges, and all the things that require our attention every single day. And coping is important. It’s necessary. But what happens when coping becomes the only way we know how to live? In this episode, I’m introducing a new series called Creating, where we’ll explore the difference between simply managing what life throws at us and intentionally creating the life we want within the circumstances we have.
238. The Acceptance Shift Every Special Needs Mom Needs
2026/07/02
Have you ever caught yourself thinking This shouldn’t be happening. Things arent supposed to be this hard. Once iIfix this, then I’ll finally be okay. As special needs moms, it's easy to spend so much of our mental energy fighting reality. We resist the diagnosis. We resist the uncertainty. We resist the lack of control we have over it all.  Our brains are wired to treat difficult circumstances as problems that need to be solved. But when those problems are outside of our control—as they so often are in special needs parenting—we end up stuck in a cycle of overwhelm, anxiety, and caregiver burnout. In this episode, I'm sharing one of the most powerful mindset shifts I've ever learned that helps with acceptance.  We'll talk about why acceptance is often misunderstood, why your brain naturally resists it, and how practicing acceptance can reduce stress, overwhelm, and emotional exhaustion.  You’ll learn: Why acceptance is not the same as approval or giving upHow resisting reality creates unnecessary emotional sufferingWhy your circumstances don't have to change before you can experience more peaceA simple way to begin practicing acceptance in your own life this week If this episode encouraged you, I'd love for you to leave a rating and review or share it with another special needs mom who could use this reminder today. And if you're ready to stop living in survival mode and start creating more peace (even with all the challenges you face) I’d love to support you inside my coaching program.
