Abraham: Blessed to be a Blessing
2026/09/25
What did God tell you about your business that you are still waiting to see? Abraham was 75 when God gave him a promise, and he was 100 when it finally came. In between, he got tired of waiting and took matters into his own hands, and the consequences outlived him. In the first episode of Season 2, Aaron Christopherson and Sean Turner read Abraham's life the way a business owner would, and they ask the questions most of us avoid. Have you made an idol of comfort?  Are you creating Ishmaels because you are tired of waiting?  Would you walk away from a profitable deal if God said no?  If God asked you to lay your business on the altar, could you? Listen to the full episode, and share it with a business owner who is waiting on a promise. Distinct is a ministry of Mercy Culture Church. Learn more at distinctbusiness.com.
Season 2 Trailer | There is a Cost
2026/09/09
Season 2 of the Distinct Business Podcast starts here. There is a cost to letting the presence of God into your business. Hosts Aaron Christopherson and Sean Turner open season two with the question most business teaching skips: what does it actually cost to make your company a place of holy ground, and are you willing to pay it? The word distinct comes from Exodus 33:16. Moses tells God that if His presence will not go with them, he does not want to go, because what else would set them apart from every other people? The same is true of your business. Strategy matters. Culture matters. Great people matter. But the only thing that will truly make your business distinct from every other business is the presence of God. This season goes into scripture to study the business owners, leaders and marketplace people already there, including Abraham, Joseph, Daniel and Boaz, and draws out the principles they lived by. How do you manage a staff. How do you empower people. How do you face an obstacle. How do you grow and multiply. This episode lays out four ways to maintain a place of holy ground in your business. You are a spiritual leader. Lead yourself before you lead anyone else. You are radically generous. Generosity is a spiritual decision rather than a financial one.You are a good steward. Steward your home and family first, then your business. You surrender everything. Your business is not your identity.Distinct is a ministry of Mercy Culture Church. Learn more at distinctbusiness.com.
Ep 7: All for God's Glory
2026/06/30
You can run a business for God and still quietly run it for yourself.  In Episode 7, Aaron Christopherson and Sean Turner close the series with All to Glorify God: the seventh and final way ancient Israelites dedicated their businesses to the Lord, and the root the other six all grow from.  The Hebrew word for glory, kavod, means weight: to glorify God in business is to give Him His true weight in how you price, hire, deal, and tell your story. But there's a trap: success, not failure, is where leaders drift toward self-glory, and Scripture names the pattern plainly, from Deuteronomy 8's "my power and the strength of my hands" to the fall of Nebuchadnezzar. From David's prayer over the Temple, "everything comes from You, and we have given You only what comes from Your hand", to Bach inscribing "Soli Deo Gloria" on every composition, this is the posture that distinguishes a presence-driven business: it was His, it is His, and it returns to His purposes.  The public declaration, the firstfruits, the structured generosity, the mezuzah, the honest scales, and the Sabbath rest all point here — the business exists for His glory, not ours. Ep 6: Sabbath Trust
2026/06/16
You can own a business and still be its slave. In Episode 6, Aaron Christopherson and Sean Turner unpack Sabbath Trust — the most legislated practice in the Torah, and the sixth way ancient Israelites dedicated their businesses to the Lord. The Sabbath began in creation, not the Law: before Israel existed, God rested. From the manna test to the Sabbath year (Shemitah) to the Jubilee, rest was woven into Israel's economy as a weekly wager on God's provision — and the covenant promise was that six days under God's blessing would outproduce seven days of anxious effort. The hosts trace the Sabbath all the way to the 70-year exile that "gave the land its rest" — 70 missed Sabbath years collected at once — and to what modern soil science now confirms about the rest God designed into creation. The closing question is the sharp one: is your business a means of stewardship, or has it quietly become your master? "My Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest." — Exodus 33:14 Part of the series "7 Ways Ancient Israelites Dedicated their Businesses to the Lord" (Exodus 33:15–16). Ep 5: Ethical Weights & Honest Scales
2026/06/02
What does God actually think about how you price, bill, and represent your business? In Episode 5, Aaron Christopherson and Sean Turner dig into one of the most direct — and most overlooked — commercial commands in Scripture. From Leviticus to Amos to Proverbs, God uses the same word for dishonest business practices that he uses for idolatry. That is not accidental. They cover the ancient two-bag system that merchants used to cheat on both ends of every deal, its seven modern equivalents (billing, pricing, marketing, negotiation, and more), and what it means that Proverbs 16:11 declares honest scales to be the Lord’s own standard — not just a best practice. The question isn’t whether your business is technically legal. It’s whether your scales are his. Learn more at distinctbusiness.com or text DISTINCT to 59090
Ep 4: The Mezuzah
2026/05/22
The mezuzah wasn’t a decoration. It was a declaration — and God commanded it over every space where business was done. In this episode, Aaron Christopherson unpacks the ancient Hebrew practice of the Mezuzah and what it reveals about ownership, authority, identity, and accountability in business. This small object carries one of the most complete pictures of what it means to run a presence-driven business — and it has been hiding in plain sight on Jewish doorframes for thousands of years. This is Episode 4 of a 7-part series on the theology of business and money in ancient Israel. To join the Distinct community, text DISTINCT to 59090 or visit distinctbusiness.com.
Ep 3: Structured Generosity
2026/05/05
Generosity and the tithe are not the same thing — and the difference could change how you run your entire business. In this episode, Aaron Christopherson unpacks Structured Generosity: the system God wove directly into Israelite economic life. Not a suggestion. Not an add-on to the tithe. A separate, legally required operating system that governed how business owners produced, harvested, and treated the people around them. This is Episode 3 of a 7-part series on the theology of business and money in ancient Israel. To join the Distinct community, text DISTINCT to 59090 or visit distinctbusiness.com.
Ep 2: Firstfruits
2026/04/21
Firstfruits isn't just a church offering. In Ancient Israel, it was an economic declaration known as Bikkurim. In this episode, Aaron Christopherson unpacks the ancient Hebrew principle of Bikkurim: the dedicated first portion, offered to God before anything else is counted. This wasn’t a suggestion. It was a command woven into the fabric of Israelite economic life — and it carries direct implications for how presence-driven business leaders should handle increase today. From Abel’s offering in Genesis 4 to the 3,000 souls saved at Pentecost, Firstfruits has always been about more than agriculture. It’s about consecration. What you put first determines what the rest becomes. This is Episode 2 of a 7-part series on the theology of business and money in ancient Israel. Ep 1: Public Declaration
2026/04/07
What would it look like to stand in the marketplace and declare that your business belongs to God? In this first episode of the Distinct Business Podcast, Aaron Christopherson and Sean Turner open a 7-part series on the ways ancient Israel dedicated their businesses to the Lord — and what that means for business leaders today. Episode 1 digs into the first practice: Public Declaration. As Moses said in Exodus 33:15-16, the distinguishing mark of God’s people was His presence among them. That same distinction is available to you and your business. This series will challenge you to move from driven to presence-driven — and it starts with going public. Want to go deeper?
