Description

Women’s Circle by Mumma Got Skills came about from the many many incredible stories I have had the pleasure to listen to in the postnatal craft groups that I run in Queensland, Australia. Becoming a mother may be something that women have done for thousands of years however, it does not take away from the profound transformational nature of this sacred journey. Women’s Circle is a space to share the stories of local women in the hopes that their words may support, validate or shape your own journey.I personally have been on an immense journey of growth since having my son in December 2017 and I love to connect my community with resources and support in all things personal development and parenting. Get ready to hear from women just like you as well as a sprinkling of chats with experts in different fields relating to women and motherhood.I am so very excited to share this space with you. Welcome.

2021/10/31
Welcome to Episode 8 of Women’s Circle, a big hello to you wherever you are listening to this. Today I am speaking about the previously taboo subject of periods. In the patriarchal society to which we are present, there has been no room for this very important cycle to exist, let alone dictate our productivity. I had the pleasure of sitting down with fellow mum and period warrior, Matilda Marsh. Matilda is the co-creator of Myoni menstrual cups and she is here to explain how we can use our cycle to our advantage in work and in life. This is such an important part of our female system and one that should be given much more love and respect. Settle in for an hour of knowledge and female empowerment!  We will be discussing: -       Matilda’s personal journey to co-creating Myoni -       Understanding the menstrual cycle -       Cultural conditioning around periods -       Better understanding female anatomy through menstruation -       Accessing health professionals attuned to your cycle -       Tracking your period as a tool to understand the whole spectrum of your life -       4 phases of the cycle and what they mean for your moods and productivity -       Living your best life with your menstrual cycle -       Resting as an integral part of your bleed -       Masculine hormonal cycle is daily as opposed to the feminine monthly cycle -       Lack of ceremony or ritual around first menstruation leading to shame? -       Menstrual cycle symbolic of seasons (Winter, Spring, Summer, Autumn). -       Masculine cave time for regeneration  -       Irregular cycles can still be tracked and followed to benefit you -       Practices to support PMS -       Are contraceptives as helpful as we think? -       Hormones in pregnancy and linked to your cycle -       Outlets for the mental load -       Language to normalise menstruation  -       Benefits of menstrual cups   Welcoming you to the space.  Love, Carlie Founder, Mumma Got Skills www.mummagotskills.com.au Instagram: @mummagotskills Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/mummagotskills  Resources and links:  Myoni - Join Newsletter for workshop dates https://myoni.love/ Tracking Apps Flo Ovulation Clue Natural Cycles
07: Navigating Love in Parenthood with IMAGO Relationship Therapy |Francis Borg
2021/10/26
Welcome to episode 7 of Women’s Circle! Thank you for joining us this week, however you found us, we are so excited to have you here. Today is a very special interview because I am talking navigating or rather revolutionising your intimate relationships with Francis Borg, Imago Relationships Therapist. I was fortunate enough to attend a weekend workshop with Francis and now better understand what we carry into our relationships subconsciously and how that all comes up for healing as we progress. As a single parent, you might wonder why this is relevant for me but I can absolutely advocate that the tools and awareness I gained from this workshop have helped me process my past behaviours in relationships and how to be aware of them as I move forward. Namely the fact that we unconsciously choose a partner that reflects one of our early caregivers to complete childhood…process that for a minute…I highly recommend this for ALL couples at all stages of love and you can find Francis’ workshop details in the show notes.  We will be discussing:  -       What is IMAGO Relationship Therapy -       Early attachment wounds -       How Francis found the work she now does -       Self-awareness around childhood patterning -       Communicating needs over ‘getting him to do what I want’ -       Unconsciously choosing a partner to complete childhood (what!?) -       Chemistry around ‘being in love’ linked to early caregivers -       The ‘Power Struggle’ phase - the make or break in a relationship -       Maximiser and Minimiser dynamics in a relationship -       Communicating using IMAGO dialogue -       Non-Verbal Communication -       Seeing our partner’s reality as their truth -       Entering the relationship consciously -       Counselling as good practice and maintenance not a sign of relationship failure -       Healing systemic cycles of destructive relationships through counselling -       Closing exists to the relationship in order to show up for each other Welcoming you to the space.
