With an anthemic groove to hook you back in, the Melbourne DJ, producer and curator of Disco Faith Recordings strings together a renowned slew of nu disco, soulful house, jacking house, progressive house, Detroit techno and driving techno to make you want to get up and go out. Having taken to the turntables everyday, Sunshine garnered cheeky late night rave slots leading to iconic headline shows and it was evident that Melbourne was perfect for her. With 22 years as a DJ she has truly devoted herself to the house, disco and techno journey, watching Melbourne flock to her dance floor at Revolver Saturdays for the 7am Rise & Shine session every Saturday morning for 19 years, where she’s also played with the likes of Gary Beck, Radio Slave, Seth Troxler and Sven Vath. Sunshine’s residency at Poof Doof since 2012 has also been one for the record books. On the festival circuit, Sunshine has graced us with her radiating dose of hapno (happy house and techno), at Beyond The Valley, Splendour In The Grass, Piknic Electronik and Babylon alongside the likes of international pioneers Gorge, Amelie Lens, Horse Meat Disco and Butch. In 2016 Sunshine embarked on a different kind of sonic energy. Creating Sunshine and Disco Faith choir, she had a vision to fuse a club-ready DJ set with the uplifting energy of a 12 piece choir, making people rejoice. Selling out shows and welcoming the congregation, she went on to curate Disco Faith Recordings, delivering an energy, disco ambiance and underground hues to have the masses on their feet. In 2021, Sunshine’s ability to adapt and transform as a performer has gone from strength to strength. Whilst many slowed down, Sunshine beamed down on us all. Closing the coveted Sidney Myer Music Bowl for Piknic Electronik in January 2021 and headlining events such as infamous the Untitled day parties, The Breakfast Club, Poof Doof Sydney, Novel Classics and Xe54 plus her usual haunts. MV014 Kazuma Onishi Kazuma Onishi is a Japanese DJ & Producer based in Melbourne, Australia. With a strong gravitational pull towards Groovy Techno, Kazuma has a diverse range and taste in music, often playing Minimal House, Deep House, and Breakbeats. Using a unique and interesting style of mixing developed over years of playing different styles, including hip-hop, R&B, and Trance, Kazuma often finds unique and new ways of blending tracks and genres. As a producer he is able to incorporate loops and samples into his sets, drawing on his wide array of inspiration to create a multi-layered groove and colourful journey. His music is often hypnotic, spacey, and high energy with a driving sense of direction balanced with trance-inducing melody. MV013 The Oddness The word ‘Odd’ has many connotations but fits perfectly when describing the sound of Melbourne producer and performer Warwick Ferguson through his genre bending project The Oddness. Sitting at the forefront of the Downtempo / Organic house scene in Australia, the last 3 years has seen him perform at Australia’s premium festivals including Rainbow Serpent, Esoteric, Elements and Let Them Eat Cake, both as a solo act and with his 3-piece band including multi-instrumentalists Dylan Jarrad and Timmus. A prolific output of music, including three Albums, have been released through labels including Sol Selectas, Beat & Path and Eskimo Recordings. MV011 Ranjit Nijjer With nearly 18 years experience in all things Techno in Melbourne, Australia, Ranjit Nijjer has truly carved out his own unique piece of the city’s landscape as a promoter, DJ and more recently as a producer. His event Technoir has become an institution in Melbourne; an important Techno destination over its life of over 17 years, showcasing home made talent from across the full spectrum of Techno. Ranjit’s DJ sets are full of energy and a delicate intensity, as he expertly layers and weaves high volumes of tracks to create a truly distinctive dance floor experience for Techno fans both young and old. Whether it is deep, hypnotic, ethereal rhythms or relentless, pounding harder sounds (often tinged with his special brand of funk), Ranjit gives the dancefloor and the listener his all. This passion and care has seen Ranjit consistently booked around town for many years now, including several appearances at the acclaimed Rainbow Serpent Festival. 2020 saw Ranjit begin releasing his own music, with multiple EPs on Australian Techno imprint ‘Machine’ and very quickly he has found himself with tracks on labels around the world. 2022 has even seen the release of his debut LP ‘Echoes In Time’ on Spanish label ‘Diffuse Reality’.
