"Imma do the best I can with what I GYAT!" - Ryland Grace (probably) This week we're discussing the adorable hit film "Project Hail Mary." Ryan Gosling stars as Ryland Grace, a middle school science teacher turned [involuntary] astronaut, who is tasked with trying to save Earth from another Ice Age. After waking up on a spaceship with temporary amnesia, things look bleak for Grace, as his memories start to slowly come back. But thanks to a chance meeting, he gets much needed help and an unexpected, new extraterrestrial bestie. "Project Hail Mary" is now in theaters.

In the second part of our “Reality Check: Inside America's Next Top Model” episode, we interview Mal’s friend, Whitney, who was a semi-finalist on Cycle 5. Whitney shares her thoughts on the docuseries, her experience in the modeling world, and dishes on her brief time with ANTM.   “Reality Check: Inside America's Next Top Model" is available to stream on Netflix.

This week we're discussing the shocking docuseries "Reality Check: Inside America's Next Top Model." The popular doc interviews former contestants of the modeling reality show, as well as judges, producers, TV executives, and the head honcho herself, Tyra Banks. The pandemic gave people a lot of time to catch up on TV and revisit old favorites but some of those old favorites looked a little different with 2020 vision (...see what I did there?). And ANTM was one of those shows that had a huge social media response, though often a negative one. With increasing attention back on the show, "Reality Check" attempts to take a deeper dive into ANTM's popularity, and how it started to fall apart.  "Reality Check: Inside America's Next Top Model" is available to stream on Netflix.

This week we're discussing the TLC docuseries "The Cult of the Real Housewife." This doc centers around Mary Cosby, of "The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City" fame, and her controversial church, Faith Temple Pentecostal. And baybeeee, our girl puts the "Christ" in Christian Dior! From allegedly demanding astronomical tithes from her congregants, to marrying her step-grandfather (because her grandmother insisted on it??), Mary's life has been under intense scrutiny since RHOSLC premiered. But nothing has loomed larger than the accusations that her church is a cult and its members view Mary as God. Through interviews with relatives & former church members, and actual audio & video clips from church services, this docuseries attempts to shine a light on the [allegedly] harmful nature of Faith Temple Pentecostal Church, and the ministry of Mary and Robert Cosby, Sr.  "The Cult of the Real Housewife" is available to stream on HBOMax.

**Part 2/2** TW: Several mentions of sexual assault/SA allegations in this episode. This week we're discussing the second half of S3 of "The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives" (ep. 6-10) and the reunion. For a season that started out pretty explosively, the second half seemed to fizzle out. After much back & forth between fragments of the #MomTok group, it seemed like they had finally ended in a somewhat good place. But those warm & fuzzy feelings proved short-lived by the time we reached the [very awkwardly-paced??] reunion. Idk if MomTok is gonna survive this, y'all and...I'm not sure how much they even care. "The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives" is available to stream on Hulu.

**Part 2/2** This week we're discussing episodes 1-5 of season 3 of "The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives." This group always seems to be in a bit of a fragile space but this season finds #MomTok more fractured than we've ever seen them before. Whitney is still on the outs with the group but, thanks to a shockingly inflated ego and unexpected Vanderpump Villa love triangle, Demi has become public enemy #1. As the ladies prepare for press in LA for their season 2 premiere, they must figure out how to coexist, and find the answer to that age old question- "Can MomTok survive this?" "The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives" is available to stream on Hulu.

**Part 2/2. We wrap up our discussion on "Weapons" and play a little Halloween trivia game!** For this special, spoOooOOoky episode, we're discussing the hit film "Weapons." When an entire classroom goes missing overnight except for one student, a small town grapples for answers on what happened to their children. After several wrong turns and accusations, they find that the culprit is more evil (and iconic) than they could have ever imagined. But will they be able to get their kids back before it's too late? Weapons is now streaming on HBOMax.

**This was meant to be our Halloween episode but due to issues with the original recording (and even thinking it may have been lost forever at one point!), it was a much longer journey than expected to get it out. Let's just call it a very special Thanksgiving episode lol** For this special, spoOooOOoky episode, we're discussing the hit film "Weapons." When I get that feeling, I need soul-sexual healing... In the documentary "Rebel Royals: An Unlikely Love Story," we meet Princess Märtha Louise of Norway and her soon-to-be American husband, Shaman Durek Verrett. While they seem like a bit of an odd couple on the surface, the two share many "new age" beliefs and feel that they were soulmates in a previous life. But this isn't a simple fairy tale; facing backlash from the Norwegian people and press about Durek's checkered past and controversial practices, he and Märtha must figure out how to navigate their new public life together and decide if marriage is in the cards for them in this lifetime. "Rebel Royals: An Unlikely Love Story" is available to stream on Netflix.

Is it Khloe? Is it Owen? Is it Sophie? Where TF the catfish?? This week we're discussing the true crime documentary, "Unknown Number: The High School Catfish." Lauryn Licari is a sweet girl just trying to navigate her way through the early days of high school, playing sports, and her first serious relationship, when she begins receiving harassing texts from an unfamiliar number. After going quiet for about a year, the texts start back, and are crueler and more frequent than ever. Lauryn, along with her boyfriend, their parents, the school principal, superintendent, and sheriff, try to figure out who is the person behind these texts and, after a few false leads, end up having to reach out to the FBI for help. Finally able to crack the case, the reveal would send shock-waves through their entire tight-knit community. "Unknown Number: The High School Catfish" is available to stream on Netflix.

This week we are discussing the comedic fantasy-action film "Freaky Tales." Set in 1987 Oakland, this anthology-style movie links an unlikely cast of characters in their quests to improve their lives and, well...kick n@zi a$$. Starring Pedro Pascal, Jay Ellis, Dominique Thorne, and Normani in her film debut, "Freaky Tales" combines hand-to-hand combat, mystical forces, and an abundance of Bay Area music to keep viewers captivated.   "Freaky Tales" is available to stream on HBO Max.

Guess who's bizzack! It's ya girls :) Have we been gone for far too long? Yes. Did we record this episode while the Olympics were still on? ...that's none of your business. But all that matters is we are so back! And since we've missed y'all so much, we wanted to review a movie that has been widely loved by critics and audiences alike- "Tyler Perry's Divorce in the Black." In this *cinematic masterpiece*, Ava and Dallas are in a tumultuous marriage which abruptly comes to an end when the already-checked out Dallas announces he wants a divorce. Though the divorce was his idea, Dallas is also somehow FURIOUS about it(???) and makes Ava's life a living hell, along with the lives of all of her loved ones. While marketed as a Thriller/Drama, "Divorce in the Black" just might be the funniest movie of 2024. "Divorce in the Black" is available to stream on Amazon Prime.

This week we're discussing the holiday film "The Blackening!" (...we didn't say *which* holiday.) The story centers around a group of college friends that reunites for a fun weekend of drinking, sh!t talking, and playing spades in a secluded cabin in the woods. What's supposed to be a fun few days of catching up, however, turns into their worst nightmare once they find a seemingly racist board game in the basement that forces them to play...for their lives.   *Hosts' Note: We obviously recorded this a bit ago, so whenever you hear "Halloween," just replace it with "Christmas" :)   "The Blackening" is available to stream on Starz.
