231. The Skeleton in Your Closet: Spooky Perimenopause & Bone Loss
2026/10/23
Welcome to Perimenopausal Conversations for Busy Women, where we help busy women navigate perimenopause, hormone balance, and everyday stress using essential oils and practical holistic tools. Let's talk spooky things like hormone loss causing silent bone loss. The happy news is that this is preventable, and it is also never too late to start changing your habits. Every little bit counts!
Here are the major takeaways:
- lift heavy things every day that you want to be healthy;
- use movement as armor to protect what you've built;
- use nutrition to fuel your framework - especially through foods rather than supplements;
- prioritize protein as it is the building block of muscle which supports this skeleton of ours.
Make sure to listen as well to Dr. Vonda Wright's take on smoking and bone damage.

230. Perimenopause Relief in a Latte? The Surprising Health History of Pumpkin Spice
2026/10/09
In this episode of Perimenopausal Conversations for Busy Women, we break down the centuries-old health benefits hidden in your favorite fall flavor. Discover how individual spices can support your body through midlife transition:
Cinnamon: For blood sugar balance and managing insulin resistance.Nutmeg: For promoting better sleep and easing anxiety.Ginger: For soothing perimenopausal bloating and digestion issues.Cloves: Packed with antioxidants to fight inflammation and support joints.
Did you know you can create your own pumpkin spice flavored items and avoid the sugar? Meg looked up "pumpkin spice paleo" and found several ideas for these spices incorporating maple syrup or honey, which add to that warm/cozy sensation we are all craving.
Hopefully you can use this bit of ancestral wisdom to keep you warm, cozy, and well during this cold and flu season.

2026/09/25

In this episode, Meg and Heather talk about the myriad of random symptoms that COULD be caused by perimenopausal hormonal shifts. While funny to discuss, there are so many random things. 228. Why Consistency Matters More Than Motivation
2026/09/11
Welcome to Perimenopausal Conversations for Busy Women, where we help busy women navigate perimenopause, hormone balance, and everyday stress using essential oils and practical holistic tools. In this episode, Meg and Heather talk about why, especially during the years of perimenopause, consistency matters so much more than motivation. Meg quotes James Clear's Atomic Habits about falling to the level of your systems. Meg and Heather decided that "rhythms" was a great word for reframing the word "systems." Rhythms are goals with fluidity and grace. Meg also talked about Cassy Joy Garcia's new cookbook with high protein recipes that are easy to meal prep, her group Balance in the Messy Middle, and also the concept of don't miss more than one day at a time of any of your rhythms.

227. Inflammation in Perimenopause
2026/08/28
Welcome to Perimenopausal Conversations for Busy Women, where we help busy women navigate perimenopause, hormone balance, and everyday stress using essential oils and practical holistic tools. In this episode, Meg and Heather talk about inflammation and perimenopause. For most of our lives estrogen has protected us against inflammation, now with the erratic production of estrogen, we are now more susceptible to the damaging parts of chronic inflammation.

The signs and symptoms of inflammation during perimenopause vary greatly, and you may not have thought of some of these as being related. There are things such as:
- joint aches and pains;
- brain fog;
- fatigue;
- increased anxiety;
- weight gain, especially in the belly area;
- poor sleep; and
- hot flashes.
Join Meg's class here: https://balanceredeemed.myflodesk.com/fxtxgf8unr to find out how to fight against inflammation.

225. Protein Isn’t Just for Bodybuilders: Why Women in Perimenopause Need More of It
2026/07/31
Welcome to Perimenopausal Conversations for Busy Women, where we help busy women navigate perimenopause, hormone balance, and everyday stress using essential oils and practical holistic tools.
In this episode, Meg and Heather discuss the importance of protein, the ton of misinformation out there, and some truths and suggestions. You can't live without protein - it builds and repairs tissues in our body. It specifically builds our muscles which are considered the longevity organ necessary for keeping us moving, protecting our joints, and pushing our skeleton through life.
So, how much protein do you actually need? Disregard what you have heard, it is bioindividual. Not only do each of us need different amounts, we need different amounts from season to season in our own body. Good news! Meg can help determine how much you need currently and work with you from there to adjust as your body changes.
The bottom line, strive for more quality protein and ask Meg for a free 15 minute initial consult to find out more.

Welcome to Perimenopausal Conversations for Busy Women, where we help busy women navigate perimenopause, hormone balance, and everyday stress using essential oils and practical holistic tools. Meg offers 3 practical steps - bedtime routine, moving our bodies, and nutrition. Heather also stresses the importance of having systems in place that work for you. We explore the powerful shift women going through perimenopause are making toward a kinder, more intentional approach to health.
