S7-E4 Restoring Trust: When Love Has Been Hurt
2026/02/18
Season #7 is here, and we are calling it "Tools for Stronger Relationships." Just like any important system needs regular care, our marriages and families need intentional attention. In this series, we plan to share practical tools — spiritual, relational, and emotional — that help keep relationships running well and growing stronger, even in busy or challenging seasons of life.
In Episode #4, Jere and Willie focus on one of the hardest relational questions couples face: How do you restore trust after betrayal, deep hurt, or long patterns of miscommunication?
For some, the wound is obvious — an affair, a secret, a betrayal of confidence. For others, the damage happened slowly — years of broken promises, emotional neglect, harsh words, or unresolved conflict.
Either way, trust has been damaged. And when trust breaks, people often ask quietly: Is this fixable? Can something broken really be rebuilt? Or are we just pretending and surviving?

In this series, we plan to share practical tools — spiritual, relational, and emotional — that help keep relationships running well and growing stronger, even in busy or challenging seasons of life.
In Episode #3, we talk about parenting adult children. Most parents don’t lose connection with their adult children because they stop loving them — they lose connection because the relationship has changed, and they haven’t yet learned how to love differently.

The Connection Code #3 (3-19-2025)
2025/03/19
In Season 6, Willie and Jere review O.S. Hawkins' The Connection Code. The book's central theme is that relationships are the cornerstone of a fulfilling life. Its subtitle is Relationship Advice from Philemon.
Philemon is the name of a small letter in the New Testament that centers on Onesimus, a slave who ran away from his master, Philemon, a Christian leader in Colossae. During his time away, Onesimus meets the Apostle Paul, who was imprisoned in Rome and became a Christian.
Paul writes to Philemon, urging him to forgive Onesimus and welcome him back not as a slave but as a beloved brother in Christ. Paul appeals to Philemon’s love and faith, even offering to repay any debt Onesimus may owe.
The letter reflects themes of forgiveness, reconciliation, and the gospel's transforming power in personal relationships. It is an excellent case study in building positive, productive relationships. Its lessons can help us get along with our spouses, children, parents, and friends.

Your Marriage Mindset #5 - The Different is Not Bad Mindset
2023/11/13
You may not hear marriage mindset discussed much, but it should be. The truth is your mindset and how you view your marriage will still be there long after the honeymoon and the first official argument has happened.
Simply put, what you think about your marriage dictates what you will experience in your marriage. Even more so, it’s essential to know how to renew your mind in God’s Word to have (and keep) the right mindset for marriage. In this season, Willie and Jere suggest ways to do just that.

PROGRAM NOTE: At about 5:06 in the program, we mention “Standing Tall Ministries.” That is the incorrect name of the ministry affiliated with Shelly Donahue. Instead, her ministry is called “Tall Truth” (www.shellydonahue.net).
