“The H is for Human (H=H), the podcast centers on the human in HIV” aims at producing content on HIV research education, affirming Black, Indigenous, and other People of Color (BIPOC) and sexual gender minority communities disproportionately impacted by HIV. Each episode will produce content on the human side of research: health, wellbeing, and community. The H=H podcast is sponsored by the Legacy Project of the Office of HIV/AIDS Network Coordination, HANC. The H is for Human will become a means of communication between communities and the Division of AIDS's (DAIDS) funded HIV/AIDS Research Networks, and HANC.

The role of the community in the development of an HIV vaccine

A recent article published in the Journal of AIDS reported that 9.2% of trans people are living with HIV in the United States, compared to 0.5% of the general population and they are the group most impacted by the HIV epidemic. As Jessica Xavier puts it, “…for the longest time, transgender persons have been the orphans of the HIV epidemic…” This episode of the H is for Human will be devoted to the health of transgender people.
