Is SledSend Done? Every Question Answered | Ep. 146
2026/10/14
Is SledSend done? Where are the boys? Why did a five-year streak just end?
For five years and 145 episodes, the SledSend Podcast dropped every single week. This season looks different — and the questions have been flooding in through texts, DMs and in person.
So I sat down solo, in my own office, to answer every one of them.
This episode is the Season 6 kickoff.
Why the podcast is going biweekly — and why quality beats quantity this year.
Where Jeff, Coby, Shae and Jose have been, and what's coming with virtual episodes.
Avalanche Level 2, two Brotherhood retreats, and what the Brotherhood really is: 80% life, 20% snowmobiling.
Plus the sponsorship bubble I think the whole sledding industry is stuck in.
Fewer episodes.
Better conversations.
Same mission.
SledSend isn't slowing down.
It's leveling up.
If you're part of the SledSend community, this one's for you.
And if you're new here, this is the perfect place to start.

This is it.
The final episode of Season 5.
What started as just a podcast has turned into something a lot bigger than we ever expected. Over 140+ episodes… countless rides… new friendships… hard lessons… and a brotherhood that goes way beyond snowmobiling.
This season didn’t go how we planned. The snow was rough. Events got canceled. Things shifted. But in a weird way… it ended up being one of the most important seasons we’ve had.
In this episode, we sit down as a full crew and talk through:
– The reality of this season (good and bad)
– Our favorite moments and biggest takeaways
– What this whole thing has actually become
– And where Sled Send is heading next
Because the truth is… this isn’t just about riding anymore. We’re building something bigger. And this is just the beginning. If you’ve been here since day one—or this is your first episode—we appreciate you more than you know. None of this happens without you. Season 6… we’re coming back different.

The First Sled Send Brotherhood Retreat Changed Everything
2026/03/18
What started as a group of guys connecting online turned into something a lot bigger.
For the first time ever, the Sled Send Brotherhood came together in real life for our first retreat. Guys drove from all over the country to spend a weekend riding, hanging out, and building something that honestly feels rare these days — real brotherhood.
This episode is a look back at that weekend.
We talk about the chaos of getting everyone together, the moments that made the trip unforgettable, and why this retreat proved that what we’re building with Sled Send is bigger than snowmobiling. It’s about community, pushing each other to be better, and surrounding yourself with people who share the same mindset.
Some guys drove 20–30 hours just to be there.
Some met each other for the first time after years of talking online.
And by the end of the weekend, it felt like something real had been built.
This was the first Brotherhood Retreat.
It definitely won’t be the last.
If you’re part of the Sled Send community, this episode is for you.
And if you’re new here, this is a pretty good look at what we’re all about.

What 8 Days in the Iron Dog Taught Me About Pain
2026/03/11
2,300 miles.40 below zero.Eight straight days of pain. This was Smasher’s fourth time racing the Iron Dog — the longest and most brutal snowmobile race in the world. And this one hit different. He rode through full whiteout blizzards where you couldn’t see 20 feet in front of you. Fixed broken A-arms in the middle of nowhere.Got turned around on the wrong trail. Watched a Top 10 finish slip away by just one hour. But the hardest part wasn’t mechanical. It was mental.
In this episode, Smasher breaks down:
What 2,300 miles across Alaska really does to your body
The storm that almost made them turn back for good
Why “smooth and steady” is the real Iron Dog strategy
What pain teaches you when quitting would be easier
And whether this is the end of his Iron Dog career
This race doesn’t just test machines. It tests who you are. Should Smasher run it again next year — or is it time to walk away?
Drop your thoughts in the comments.

Mic To Mic: The SledSend X Sledder Cast Collab
2026/03/04
Today’s episode is a little different. Two different snowmobile podcasts coming together on the same episode. We’ve got Tyler Smith and Shae Sainsbury from the SledSend podcast with us, and instead of pretending like we don’t all kinda do the same thing, we decided to sit down and compare notes. We talk about how SledSend actually got started, what they’ve learned after interviewing a pile of people in the snowmobile industry, and which episodes stand out the most. We get into the ones that made them uneasy and I admit which episode had me on edge too.We also flip it around… Tyler and Shae share their favorite Sledder Cast moments, how they think about partnerships, and what they’re building with The Brotherhood and who it’s really meant for. It’s a solid back-and-forth between people who care about the same sport and are trying to build something meaningful with podcast content - inside it.Let’s dive in.

How a 15-Year-Old Is Building His Own Path in Snowmobiling
2026/02/25
At 15 years old, most kids are still trying to figure out what they’re interested in.
Taos already knows.
In this episode, we sit down with one of the youngest Backwoods Retreat winners we’ve ever had on the podcast — a rider who has made real sacrifices to carve his own path in the sled industry.
He chose homeschool to pursue riding more seriously. He’s stepping into Rmsha hillclimb racing. He’s surrounding himself with mentors. And he’s taking avalanche education and backcountry responsibility seriously.
This isn’t just about riding sleds.
It’s about discipline. It’s about vision at a young age. It’s about being intentional when most people are distracted.
We talk about:
• Why he chose homeschool to chase snowmobiling• Getting into hillclimb racing• The Backwoods Retreat experience• Night rescue missions in the mountains• Mentorship and earning your place• Avalanche awareness and trailhead checks• His long-term vision in the sled industry
Snowmobiling needs young riders who care about the craft, the culture, and the responsibility that comes with it.
This is one of them.

Why the Backwoods Giveaway Almost Collapsed
2026/02/18
The Backwoods Giveaway Retreat almost didn’t happen. Three weeks before the event, the lodge double-booked us. No backup plan. Six random winners already selected. Sponsors committed. Trucks loaded. Momentum rolling. And that was just the beginning.
In this episode, we break down everything that went wrong leading up to the weekend — from scrambling to find a new lodge, to heat exchanger failures, broken belts, no snow for weeks, and riding 16 deep in shallow conditions.
But this isn’t just a recap. It’s about:
• Pivoting under pressure
• Leading in chaos
• Snowmobile culture
• Building something bigger than perfect conditions
We talk about:
– The scramble to save the retreat
– How a local mechanic saved Jose’s sled
– Meeting the six winners (including an engaged couple who both won)
– Riding in a big group without losing control
– Why snowmobile culture continues to surprise us in the best way
Every year we pick six completely random riders and spend a weekend together in the mountains. And every year, it reminds us why we do this. It’s never perfect. It’s always worth it. If you’ve ever wondered what goes into hosting something like this — this episode is the real behind-the-scenes.

The Plan to Bring HayDays Energy to the West Coast With Levi Green
2026/02/11
What would it take to bring Hay Days-level energy to the West Coast?
In this episode, we sit down with Levi to talk about his vision for building something bigger than just another ride day — an event designed to grow snowmobiling, build community, and elevate the culture of the sport.
From guiding alongside elite riders at Proven Progression to making high-stakes decisions in the backcountry, Levi shares how discipline, responsibility, and leadership shape the way he approaches sledding — and why the sport needs more than just riders if it’s going to grow.
We dive into:
– What makes Hay Days so powerful
– Why the West Coast needs its own version
– The responsibility elite riders have to grow the sport
– Building community beyond social media
– What the future of snowmobiling could look like
If you care about the direction of snowmobiling — not just the riding — this conversation matters.

What a Bad Snow Year Reveals About the People You Ride With
2026/01/28
The snow is bad. The season isn't going to plan. But this episode proves riding has never really been about the snow.
In this episode of the Sled Send Podcast, all five of the crew are finally back together under one roof for the first time this season.
What starts as catching up quickly turns into a real conversation about brotherhood, responsibility, avalanche awareness, and what a bad snow year reveals about the people you choose to ride with. With unpredictable conditions and limited opportunities to ride, this season has tested a lot of snowmobilers. Trips get canceled. Plans change. Motivation fades. But instead of killing the stoke, it’s forced a deeper look at why we ride — and who we ride with.
In this episode, we talk about:
What a bad snow year reveals about character and commitmentWhy riding skill matters less than trust and accountability• Avalanche safety, close calls, and lessons learned in the backcountryHow community and mindset can carry a season when conditions aren’t idealWhy the Brotherhood has become bigger than riding itselfIf you’ve ever questioned why you ride, struggled through a tough season, or wondered what actually matters when the snow doesn’t show up — this conversation will hit home.

The Difference Between Loving the Sport and Protecting It
2026/01/21
A lot of people love snowmobiling.
Far fewer think about what it takes to protect it.
In this episode, we sit down with Corbin Shaw to talk about the responsibility that comes with riding backcountry — from avalanche education and risk awareness to advocacy, access, and leadership within the sport. We unpack the difference between fear-based safety messaging and real education, why being an asset to your riding group matters, and how confidence in the mountains is built through knowledge, not ego. This conversation goes beyond sled setup and riding lines. It’s about stewardship, long-term thinking, and what it actually means to represent the sport well — on the snow and off it.
If you ride backcountry, care about access, or want to see snowmobiling thrive for the next generation, this is a conversation worth hearing.

Everyone Asks What the SledSend Team Rider Brotherhood Is — Here It Is
2026/01/14
Everyone asks what the SledSend Team Rider Program actually is — so we finally break it down. This episode isn’t about snowmobile stories or riding tips. It’s a behind-the-scenes look at why the SledSend Team Rider Program exists, who it’s for, and what makes it fundamentally different from traditional sponsorships or ambassador programs. We talk about: Why this isn’t a sponsorship — and never will beThe 80% life / 20% sled philosophy. What the weekly structure actually looks like. The standards required to be part of the program. Who this is for — and who it isn’t. If you’ve ever been curious about the SledSend Brotherhood, or wondered whether it’s something you should apply for, this episode brings clarity and context.

Why Snowmobiling Becomes an Identity, Not a Hobby
2026/01/07
Snowmobiling starts as something you do.
For some people, it quietly becomes something you are.
In this episode, we sit down with Eric Olson to talk about why snowmobiling evolves from a hobby into an identity — and what that shift changes about the way you live your life. After stepping away from sledding for nearly 15 years, Eric found his way back to the mountains at a very different stage of life. What followed wasn’t just progression on a sled, but clarity in his business, discipline in his routine, and a deeper connection to himself and the people around him. We talk about: What the mountains give you that nothing else can. Why purpose-driven riding matters more than progression clips. How craftsmanship, discipline, and risk all overlap. The reality behind spending time, money, and energy on something you care about. Why brotherhood and shared struggle are at the core of this sport. And how snowmobiling can shape the way you show up in every area of life. This conversation isn’t about how to ride better. It’s about why riding matters — and why, for many of us, life quietly organizes itself around it. If snowmobiling is more than just something you do on weekends, this episode will resonate. Question for the listeners: Why do you snowmobile? What does it give you that nothing else does?

What Most People Get Wrong About Preparing for a New Season
2025/12/31
Most people think preparation starts right before the season begins. In reality, that mindset is exactly what leads to frustration, wasted money, and preventable mistakes. In this episode, we break down what real preparation actually looks like — from maintaining your equipment and staying physically ready, to managing the financial side that most people avoid thinking about. Along the way, we share real stories, overlooked habits, and lessons learned the hard way that apply far beyond riding. This conversation isn’t about being perfect or over prepared. It’s about taking responsibility early so you can spend less time fixing problems — and more time actually enjoying what you love. Whether you ride every weekend or just a few times a season, this episode will change how you think about readiness.

5 Things We Wish We Knew in Our First Year of Snowmobiling
2025/12/26
In this episode, we break down five things we wish we knew in our first year of riding — lessons that only come from experience, mistakes, and time on the snow. From hesitation and confidence, to gear choices, fitness, avalanche awareness, and riding with people who push you to get better, this conversation is all about shortening the learning curve for newer riders and helping experienced riders reflect on what actually matters. If you’re in your first few seasons — or even a few years in — this episode will challenge the way you think about progression, risk, and what really makes someone a better rider over time. Stick around until the end and let us know: What’s one thing you wish you knew in your first year of riding?

How One Small Decision Triggered an Avalanche
2025/12/17
What started as a simple first ride of the season turned into a moment we won’t forget.
In this episode, we break down how one small decision triggered an avalanche right in front of us and what it taught us about complacency, risk, and responsibility in the backcountry. We walk through the entire day from planning the trip and trailhead checks to the split second where everything changed.
We talk about what we did right, what we would absolutely do differently, and why experience alone doesn’t make you immune to mistakes. This isn’t about pointing fingers. It’s about understanding how quickly situations can escalate and why awareness, communication, and preparation matter more than confidence.
We also get into the rest of the ride, exploring a new zone, dealing with early season conditions, and reflecting on how physical preparation in the gym translated directly to better riding on the mountain.
If you ride sleds, spend time in avalanche terrain, or just want a real conversation about decision-making under risk, this episode is for you.
