Over the years since its founding, AHF has expanded to serve a wide range of people, goals, and global issues. But it is still, at its core, an organization centered around providing care, advocacy, and support for people with HIV and other medical needs. This week, we discuss that mission and how we apply it holistically to patient care.

What does it mean to be an AHF mobilizer? On the first episode of season two AHFter Hours, we dive into what it means to be a mobilizer and what they’re doing on a daily basis to move AHF’s mission forward in amazing ways.

AHF’s marketing, event planning, and communication efforts aren’t like the sales and marketing arms of businesses, which are geared toward increasing profits. At AHF, marketing is about spreading the word and saving lives. Today, we learn more about that process and its key voices.

Sometimes AHF is about action. Others it’s about communication — meeting with marginalized communities, hearing what they have to say, and sharing sometimes difficult messages with the community. The Black Leadership AIDS Crisis Coalition, or BLACC, is an AHF affinity group dedicated to social justice work within Black communities across the country. On this week’s episode, we speak with the group’s national chair, Imara Canady, about its origins, mission, and the future of BLACC and other affinity groups at AHF.

Food for Health is an AHF program dedicated to addressing food insecurity, or individuals’ and communities’ limited access to healthy food. This week, we speak with two of the program’s catalysts about what Food for Health is, does, and means to the people who benefit from it each day.

AIDS Healthcare Foundation is not traditionally thought of as a women’s health organization, but the truth is that much of what we do is centered around providing care, advocacy, and support for women worldwide — including those who are not infected or at risk of AIDS or HIV. This week, we heard from some of the women leading two key affinity groups at AHF relating to serving women: Spark and Girls Act.

The AIDS Healthcare Foundation began in the United States, but it’s now very much a global organization with operations in 45 countries. This week we heard from some of our leaders in Europe about how AHF is bringing the organization’s mission to European patients.
