Fit for TV: The Reality of the Bigger Loser chronicles the super-hit show The Biggest Loser, which ran for 18 seasons on prime time network TV. American Manhunt: Osama Bin Laden is at times a riveting account of the raid leading the the death of Osama Bin Laden in 2011, told with suspenseful production values, music, and with storytellers from the highest levels of the Bush and Obama governments as well as a member of Seal Team Six. But it leaves so much out, and is so narrowly focused, so... conclusive, that we were left wondering if telling just this relative sliver of the story without the broader context of what was happening in the "War on Terror" or it's downstream effects should have been told in this way at all. The Menendez Brothers on Netflix is a modern re-examination of the murders of Jose and Kitty Menendez by their sons Erik and Lyle. It adequately gives background on the case and, more than most of these true crime documentaries- does a good job covering the trials themselves and how the flow of the case went day to day. Ultimately it takes a firm stance that while their crimes were crimes, they had a good faith reason for what they did and their sentences should be reconsidered.
