Tony and Pete sit down to talk about the downfall of Big 5 hoops

Tony is joined by Riley Frian of Mid Major Madness to break down a massive week in Hawks basketball. After a stunning victory over Cal to keep their NIT run alive, Saint Joe’s has officially put the field on notice. With Colorado State and the Bears in the rearview, we look ahead to the next challenge: New Mexico. In This Episode: The NIT Run: How the Hawks beat Cal and what they need to do to keep the momentum swinging against the Lobos. A-10 Shakeup: We dive into VCU’s conference title win and the implications of Phil Martelli Jr.’s new contract. Are we witnessing the birth of the Atlantic 10’s next great rivalry? The Ultimate Sacrifice: We close the show with a heavy hypothetical—would you sell the beloved undefeated banner if it meant securing a massive haul of NIL donations?

Tony and Pete talk KPIs for the season after a tough start to the year. Tune in for some laughs and a breath of fresh air!

After the joy of having an interview with Coach Donahue, the Hawk Talk crew add their newly minted co-host to the show, Ryan MBA. This episode previews the “Don” of a new era which starts 11/3 as the Hawks take on Lafayette. Enjoy!

Coach Steve Donahue sits down and joins the Hawk Talk guys for their first episode of season 5. The Don of a New Era is upon us and Steve tells us all about what this new era might look like. Look how sharp the tie looks!

We sit down with Ryan to talk through hawk and barrel, all the evidence of how Jill has mishandled the last six years, how Billy’s departure makes him the worst coach in Saint Joe’s history, what the players era news past week means for scheduling and recruiting, and if tearing down the whole basketball admin would actually help, along with the fears that come with that idea.

St. Joe’s isn’t going to be on the MainStage in 2025 in Vegas, but they are in the Players Era JV bracket — and that matters too :) NIL is already shaping how the program recruits, builds, and brands, and playing in a tournament like this (fingers crossed 2026) is key to building for the future. We talk NIL, roster moves, and what identity means for SJU in 2025. Guests Ryan MBA and HHHardwood join for a great convo on Player Era news, communication surrounding the players era, and more. Enjoy!

Tony and Pete break down St. Joe’s top-ranked A-10 transfer class—Al Amadou, Deuce Jones, and Jaiden Glover—and reflect on the departure of X Brown. They dive into NIL’s impact on college basketball and tackle fan questions, from walk-on battles with Will Lange to the value of season tickets and the future of Hawk hoops.

We’re back with a packed episode: Florida pulls off a W, Martelli drops some gems in a new interview, and there’s movement in the Saint Joe’s transfer portal. Tony slaps a tariff on all transfers, and we dive into the SJUhawk4ever letter to Jill—plus, what to expect from their upcoming meeting.

The postseason giveth and the postseason taketh away. Tony and Pete recap the emotional swing from the Hawks’ win over Dayton to tough losses against Mason and UAB. Then things get weird: Kyle Pagan angered the Hawk faithful, and Ryan MBA responded like a wizard scorned—casting Twitter spells that will live in infamy. Tony and Pete talk fan beef, portal whispers, divine returns, and the eternal question: should Billy come back? Plus voice memos, listener questions, and a reality check on where expectations should land.

Tony and Pete are joined by Riley Frain (@rileyfrain) of Mid Major Madness as well as Matt Gifford (@HHHardwood) to preview the Atlantic 10 Tournament. After that, Tony and Pete move from serious basketball, to some more fun topics which includes talking to some SJU fans directly.
