Ep.272 - Underserved Favor
2026/10/26
Send us Fan Mail The Israelites in the Old Testament had a lot of ups and down with the Lord.  God would show them mercy and they would rejoice momentarily then fall back into the same ungodly behavior.  But God still showed them favor they didn't deserve but there is a point where that favor ran out which is good reminder to the Church, especially those who live their lives offending God then show up to church on Sundays pretending they are godly.  Believers must understand our blessings are not earned they are simply God's favor upon us because He loves us.  Our obedience brings about blessings but we need to take Israel's example serious.  We can't expect God to bless us when we walk away from Him in heart.
Ep.271 - We are the Circumcision
2026/10/19
Send us Fan Mail The word circumcision is used many times in the Bible and those unfamiliar with the word may think this is really weird but there is a significance to the word and a spiritual application to having our hearts circumcised that reiterates the need to walk in the Spirit and not in the flesh.
Ep.270 - Is Christ In You?
2026/09/28
Send us Fan Mail As a new believer, learning the Scriptures I ran into verses where it challenged me to look at my own relationship with God and determine if I was actually a true child of God or fake pretending to be one.  Surrendering to Jesus is difficult for many because we don't know what to do as a "Christian."  But He meets us where we are and when we yield to Him and open up to Him in faith we receive His Spirit.  That's when things get real.
Ep.269 - Inviting a Curse
2026/09/21
Send us Fan Mail Many times in our lives when something bad happens, we can feel like we are cursed.  But when we examine what really happens when a believer strays from the path of righteousness we should understand that in the Scriptures there are ample warnings against rebelling against God and ignoring those warnings brings about natural consequences.  So willfully tempting God can result in what feels like a curse.
Ep.268 - Innocent Blood
2026/09/14
Send us Fan Mail In the Scriptures innocent blood being shed is not only forbidden but it requires justice.  God, who is rich in mercy and grace, calls for capital punishment on anyone who sheds innocent blood.  And as the world has grown much colder toward God, especially in our country, we see innocent blood being shed routinely but with no real justice.  But justice will be served one day and it's in our best interest to seek the forgiveness of God and His grace and mercy now with respect to all sin so that in that day we will be found to have been redeemed and forgiven.
Ep.267 - Lacking Good Things
2026/09/07
Send us Fan Mail In my relationship with God I want good things.  I don't want bad things in my life rather I want to experience and possess things that are good.  And I have discovered the road to a life where we lack little is not working hard to be rich rather it's simply yielding to Jesus in humility, following Him and taking Him serious.  Then He blesses us with things that are good.  This involves fearing Him which appears to me to be foreign to many church goers as they still live their lives in the flesh basically still in the world.  But to those who humble themselves and fear God, things are much different.
Ep.266 - Fear that Motivates
2026/08/31
Send us Fan Mail IN the church today as well as historically, people can be divided into two groups.  Those who honestly fear God and those that don't.  Those that actually fear God in the context of holy fear are much more likely to step out into the will of God and follow Him when He leads.  Those who have little or no fear in Him are usually those who walk in the flesh and really never change after accepting Christ.  Nehemiah is an example of a man that feared God and that fear led to his successful reconstructing the walls around the city of Jerusalem even among hostile neighboring kings.
Ep.265 - Sabotaging Ministry
2026/08/24
Send us Fan Mail There have been things that I have experienced and observed that can really do a ministry harm.  When we are called into a ministry and it's confirmed that God is doing the calling, we need to be aware of pitfalls and attitudes that can neutralize or even destroy a healthy ministry.
Ep.264 - Watch Your Mouth
2026/08/17
Send us Fan Mail In the Scriptures we see our hearts are not only searched by God, along with our minds, but from our hearts our mouths speak.  What comes out of our mouth shows what's in our hearts and taking inventory of our words will reveal a lot to the person who really wants to be honest with themselves and serve God with a pure heart.  Jesus will cleanse our hearts but we need to understand our need for cleansing and we do that by drawing closer to Him.
Ep.263 - Don't Hold Back
2026/08/10
Send us Fan Mail Many times people who are exposed to Jesus are discouraged from surrendering to Him for a variety of reasons.  But to forfeit such a great King is really foolish.  We should examine the Scriptures and prayer continually do address any doubt.  Then we have those questions answered we need to go for it and not hold back.
Ep.262 - Believer's Behavior
2026/08/03
Send us Fan Mail There are several places in Scripture were the conduct of a redeemed follower of Jesus is described.  This is not "old fashion religion" rather the result of a life impacted by the presence of the Holy Spirit within a person.  The change in behavior is not a will power issue, it's a supernatural regeneration issue.
Ep.261 - Pushing Through Trials
2026/07/27
Send us Fan Mail Life presents its trials to everyone.  Nobody lives without suffering at some level and this suffering can be confusing when it seems unfair.  But to the child of God, suffering is a process God uses to grow and refine us.  Therefore we can have peace in the suffering if we trust God in the process.
Ep.260 - The Power of Light
2026/07/20
Send us Fan Mail Paul confronts a sorcerer on the Island of Cyprus and uses the power of the Holy Spirit to defend the Gospel and lead a high ranking Roman official to Jesus.
Ep.259 - The Grind
2026/07/13
Send us Fan Mail As believers we can easily get distracted by life's monotony and become frustrated thinking of life as "the grind" where every day we simply grind away with no real purpose or end in sight.  But as children of God our lives are more than a mundane existence in a screwed up world.  Every day presents new opportunities to show this world the love of God and find blessings in those places God directs us to go.  So life can be turn from the grind to a blessing.
Ep.258 - Win In The End
2026/07/06
Send us Fan Mail In this episode two kings of Judah are compared.  King Asa and King Hezekiah, both described as doing was right during their reigns.  However, Asa didn't finish that well whereas Hezekiah did.  We, as believers, must strive to finish our race well because that's what Jesus expects from us.  And He will provide the necessary things to make that happen.  All we need to do is trust Him and obey continually.
