Just when it felt like the prequel comics had redeemed themselves, things take a hokey turn and miss the mark on the quality of the animated series. Maybe the final 5th issue will redeem it? We're excited to be joined by Nikole Zivalich (host of PBS's Won't You Be My Gamer?) and Matt Raub (comedian) for our first ever X-Draft! They joined JC and Rod as everyone tried to put together the most entertaining mutant team to take on a surprise encounter. This episode, they got the Magneto battle from 1963's X-Men #1 ! Make sure to vote in the comments or on our socials who you think put together a winning combo. And, we wouldn't take this too seriously. As quickly as it came, Season 2 of X-Men '97 ended with lot of our favorite "big ole' fight" scenes as the X-Men defend Gambit from both X-Force and X-Factor. We say it a lot here but we mean it, we can't believe it is already over. Share your thoughts with us as we discuss the episode, the season as a whole and mentally prep ourselves for the wait for season 3. Oh, and with regard to Val Cooper, just remember that JC WAS RIGHT. Two of the most moral characters in X-Men history must weigh in on the fate of Graydon Creed and his crimes against mutants (since humanity *shockingly* didn't hold him accountable). We are still a little bit surprised how Magik was treated here, but that means something deeper is brewing. Right? RIGHT? A video version of this podcast is also available on YouTube and Facebook. So the episode name was pretty obvious that Danger was going to be a big issue for the X-Men in this episode but what we didn't expect was for Polaris to steal the show with an awesome new take on her character compared to the more generic version from the original Animated series. Logan hasn't always been the greatest guy. He is the best at what he does and (in this case) he's the best at putting the lives of people he doesn't really like that much, with one exception, at risk. JC and Rod dive into this horror and easter egg filled episode as the halfway point of Season 2 as Morph, Sabretooth, Lady Deathstrike and Maverick head to the Weapon X facility for two big surprises. Interspersed with their recruitment into X-Force, Jubilee and Roberto head down into the Morlock sewers in search of the mutant tracker Caliban and the Acolytes story gets further flavor. Going back (ALL THE WAY BACK) to ancient Egypt to see the rise of En Saba Nur as Magneto wants to mess with the past. (Insert Deadpool's X-Force post) Instead of going to the past to get the X-Men "Back to the 1990's", Episode 2 drop right into 1997 as Cable recruits Sunspot and Jubilee to join his black ops team while "Knockoff Cyclops" a.k.a.
