Who’s at Your Table? with Ian Simkins
2026/09/27
We talk a lot about wanting connection, an invitation, inclusion of belonging. But when the opportunity arises, we tend to choose the comfort of our schedules or preferences. We stay distracted and disconnected. We even bail if someone shows up that we don’t particularly want to hang out with.
Pastor Ian Simkins wants to turn the table so we can see it from both sides. Being offered a seat is great, but so is being the one to pull out a chair. Sitting with people who vote differently, live differently, annoy us or have maybe even hurt us makes it a lot more complicated. But presence is more than hospitality - it asks us to consider what we’re willing to sacrifice in order to make room for genuine community.

Not Everyone is a Bestie: Wayne Francis
2026/09/20
Healthy friendship isn’t about giving everyone equal access. (If even Jesus had varying levels of connection, we don’t have to let everyone in the group chat.) While you don’t need to have a DTR with all of your friends, Wayne Francis is here to help us understand how relational clarity is an important part of meaningful connection.
This episode will teach you how to stop blaming social media for your FOMO, what it looks like to grieve the end of a friendship well, and what red flags to look for that, just maybe, the friend who needs a lesson in true connection is… you.

Jesus Calls the Unlikely: Faith Eury Cho
2026/09/13
In many churches, Sunday mornings look more like a concert than a worship service, but the intelligent lighting is not to blame. Instead of corporately worshipping in a communal faith, many services are led by a small team, creating a culture of experts and observers.
Faith Eury Cho wants the church, the body of Christ, to get back to full participation where everyone accepts the calling, equipping, activation and sending out of all followers of Jesus. This episode will help you not just wish for, but expect, holy spirit intervention in your life.

The Hidden History of Christian Girl Culture: Kristin Kobes DuMez
2026/09/06
We often credit the formation of our faith to our Sunday School teachers, youth group leaders and the pastors of our churches. But Kristin Kobes DuMez has research to show how our Christian discipleship is being formed outside the church just as much, or more, as it is on Sunday mornings.
Her best selling book “Jesus and John Wayne” looked at the history of white, male evangelical Christianity and the . her new book, “Live, Laugh, Love” explores how catchphrases, lifestyle brands and (yes, still) the patriarchy have shaped white, evangelical women for decades.

2026/08/23

You’re Not Meant to be Afraid of God

Theology that Heals Theology that Hurts
2026/08/09
Healing doesn’t come as instant answer. It’s often not even a final destination. Ike Miller is here to explain how the slow, vulnerable work of becoming healthier can lead to restoration with God, within ourselves and with each other.
If you’re living with volatile relationships, mental health battles, the pursuit of satisfaction or wounds from the choices of other people, you’re right in the place that Jesus came to reach. Not only will he meet you there, he can share your struggles and bring you to complete restoration. This is a conversation for battered hearts in a broken world.

If God is Love, Why are Christians Afraid of Empathy? with John Pavlovitz
2026/08/02
Empathy is increasingly being framed as a threat to truth, but John Pavlovitz argues it’s not weakness, it’s a strength that Jesus modeled even as he confronted harmful systems.
This episode covers Christian masculinity and the ways we define strength, the grief of leaving fear-based theology, deconstruction and the spiritual exhaustion that comes with trying to embody the words and ways of Jesus in a divided world.
Share this episode with someone trying to disentangle their faith from what John calls a “Jesus-less Christianity” to discover something much bigger on the other side.

Finding Belonging with Neurodivergence
2026/07/26
If you’ve felt ashamed or misunderstood by the things that make you different, this conversation will show you how your faith can be the thing that grounds you instead of becoming another place you have to hide.
Valeriya Hjertenaes, also known as Mrs. World Congeniality, shares how a beauty pageant led her to embrace her own OCD diagnosis and advocate for people with neurodivergence. She shares how she had to navigate mental health through differing cultural lenses and how she learned to stop performing in order to show up fully as herself. This episode is for everyone who’s tired of masking - because God doesn’t want you to pretend anymore.
CW: Valeriya shares the intrusive thoughts brought on by her OCD. She does not go into detail but more than once mentions thoughts of harming babies.

What the Bible Actually Says about Refugees
2026/07/19
Refugees are not problems to solve, policies to debate or threats to manage. They are people made in the image of God. As Christians, immigration should not be an issue that divides us. We should be united in welcoming the stranger and doing everything we can to restore dignity to people who are fleeing danger and seeking safety in the land of liberty and justice for all.
In this episode, Matthew Soerens helps us understand what’s really happening at a governmental level with immigration, why Christians are divided in this conversation and how our faith should shape the way we people looking for refuge.
Around 40 minutes in, Matt makes a comment about Santa. If you’ve got little ears around, grab earbuds or put this one on pause until they’re no longer listening.

How Good Christians Get Pulled Into Christian Nationalism with April Ajoy
2026/07/05
Faith is powerful because it shapes our identity, provides a place to belong and gives us a true sense of purpose. But what happens when our beliefs become than something we choose? Can it still be called faith if it’s connected to an expectation of how we should think, speak, vote and interpret scripture?
This episode does not shame, condemn or demonize any believer who has the best intention to follow after Christ with the model they’ve been given. It’s an honest conversation with April Ajoy on the inner workings of Christian Nationalism as a system that is discipling people into a very particular belief as it infiltrates our churches, political arenas and even international relations. The hope is that, through April’s experience, people who are unaware of their participation in this type of high-control religion will begin to see the damage being caused so they can turn back to the way of Jesus. Because grace exists for all of us, even when we change our mind.

Critical Thinking with Vivian Mabuni
2026/06/21
Vivian Mabuni grew up in a Chinese American home, in a Culturally Buddhist environment. She was familiar with crystals, incense and ceremonies for honoring the spirits of her elders, and even saw Christians performing similar rituals, but going through the motions was never connected to deeper meaning. Then she experienced Jesus in a way that performative Christianity had never offered.
Now Vivian helps Christians think more critically by providing training for all of God’s people to step into their callings. Fully acknowledged identity in Christ only benefits the church. This episode will give you the confidence to own your place.
