UNDER CONSTRUCTION I act
2026/10/23
Nehemiah 2 I Sully Sowers I October 22nd, 2026
We’re all a work in progress, so what does it look like to build a life that honors God? In a world constantly telling us to build our own kingdoms, Nehemiah reminds us that God is calling us to something greater. Over the next six weeks, we’ll explore what it looks like to join in God’s work through prayer, obedience, perseverance, repentance, and a return to His Word. God isn’t just interested in rebuilding walls. He’s interested in rebuilding hearts.

FALL RETREAT I Freedom in the Fire

Daniel 3 I Dan Nemmers I October 3, 2026
What happens when following God means walking straight into the fire?
We all face fires in life, whether it’s fear, persecution, or circumstances we feel like we can’t escape. But what do we worship when the heat is turned up? Dan reminds us that God is worthy of our worship no matter the cost, and even when He doesn’t rescue us the way we hope, we can still trust Him. Because there is another in the fire. Jesus is with us in every trial, and the antidote to the fire is faith. When you walk through the fire, you don’t walk through it alone.
FALL RETREAT I God's Mission for Me
2026/10/02
Mark 8:34-37 I Dan Nemmers I October 1, 2026
You’ve got a plan for your life. But what if God has a different mission for you?
To start off our Fall Retreat weekend, Dan Nemmers from Bloomington-Normal, IL dives into God’s mission for us. We all have hopes, dreams, and desires that we want to hold onto. But what does it look like to truly follow Jesus? Dan challenges us to deny ourselves, take up our cross, and ask what we’re willing to give up to be on mission for God. Following Jesus means surrendering our own plans for His purpose. Trusting that whatever we leave behind is nothing compared to the beauty of knowing Him.
Don’t bet your life on an empty box. Bet it on a bloody cross.
YOU'VE HEARD IT SAID I live your truth

John 14:6, 18:29-40 I Nick Harsh I September 24, 2026
You’ve heard it said. But have you ever stopped to ask if it’s true? We’re exposing the lies our world has portrayed as truth and looking at what Scripture actually says.
We've all heard the phrase “live your truth,” but what happens when our truth doesn’t line up with reality? Culture tells us truth is subjective, something we can define for ourselves. The reality is that truth is objective, and ultimately, that Jesus is the Truth. Following Jesus doesn’t mean giving up freedom, but discovering the freedom to live into the purpose for which we were created. Jesus gave up His freedom to come and live the life we couldn’t, so that we could be truly free through Him.
YOU'VE HEARD IT SAID I love is love

1 John 4 I Derek Jones I September 17, 2026
You’ve heard it said. But have you ever stopped to ask if it’s true? We’re exposing the lies our world has portrayed as truth and looking at what Scripture actually says.
Derek unpacked the phrase "love is love", but what do we even mean when we say love? Culture tells us love is affirmation, lust, or whatever we say it is. But Scripture tells us that God is love. Love does not rejoice in wrongdoing, but rejoices in the truth. And God’s love was ultimately revealed in that He sent His one and only Son so that we might have life through Him. Not because we first loved God, but because He loved us first.
YOU'VE HEARD IT SAID I yolo
2026/09/11
Ecclesiastes 2:1-11, 12:8,13-14 I RJ Frahm I September 10, 2026
You’ve heard it said. But have you ever stopped to ask if it’s true? We’re exposing the lies our world has portrayed as truth and looking at what Scripture actually says.
You only live once, so make the most of it. RJ walks us through the mindset of yolo and reminds us that how we spend this life actually matters. Our lives are short, but they’re not meaningless. We were made for eternity, and the question isn’t how to build the best life for ourselves, but how to spend the life God has given us for Jesus. Solomon spent his life chasing pleasure, success, possessions, relationships, and everything the world says will satisfy us, only to find that it was all futile. Jesus didn’t just ask us to spend our lives on Him, He spent His life for us. A life spent on Jesus is never wasted. So what are you spending your life on?
YOU'VE HEARD IT SAID I you are enough
2026/09/04
Genesis 1:1, Job, Colossians 1:15-22 I Derek Jones I September 3, 2026
You’ve heard it said. But have you ever stopped to ask if it’s true? We’re exposing the lies our world has portrayed as truth and looking at what Scripture actually says.
Derek unpacked the idea that the reason you don’t feel like you’re enough is because you were never meant to be. The world tells us to look within ourselves, trust that we know what’s best, and carry it all. But Scripture reminds us that there is a God, and we are not Him. We were created for God, not to take His place. Like Job, we can find freedom in realizing the universe doesn’t depend on us. You’ve heard it said that you are enough, but Jesus offers something infinitely better. You don’t have to be enough, because He is.
PHILIPPIANS I The Secret
2026/05/01
Philippians 4:10-23 I Derek Jones I April 30, 2026
As we wrap up the book of Philippians and the semester, we’re left with this question: what if there was a way to live where your life doesn’t fall apart, no matter the circumstance? Paul shows us that kind of life is marked by contentment. Not a fleeting feeling, but a steady, lasting peace that must be learned. The secret isn’t found in what we have, it’s found in Jesus. True contentment comes from walking with Him, not chasing after anything else to fill what only He can.
Contentment isn’t something you feel, it’s something you embody. It produces a life that is steady, generous, and bold. When you’re rooted in Christ, you’re freed to give, to serve, and to keep sharing the gospel with conviction. You don’t invite Jesus into your plans, you follow Him into His. Are you available for the work God wants to do in and through you?
PHILIPPIANS I The Peace
2026/04/24
Philippians 4:1-9 I RJ Frahm I April 23, 2026
Standing firm is “in the Lord.” Your stability comes from being rooted in Christ. If you don’t know who you are in Him, you’ll look for identity somewhere else. Real joy comes from standing firm in the Lord. It means living aware that God is with you now and is coming again, and that truth reshapes your life.
Bring your anxiety, fear, and uncertainty honestly to Jesus. Prayer doesn’t have to be polished, it just has to be real. We don’t drift into peace, we drift into anxiety, so we must actively meet with the God of peace. Remove what feeds anxiety, interrupt it by naming it, praying it, and replacing it, and build a life that can hold peace. Standing firm isn’t a moment, it’s a way of life.
PHILIPPIANS I The Prize
2026/04/17
Philippians 3:12-21 I Dakota Jackson I April 16, 2026
We can spend our lives building a legacy for this life, or live for one that lasts into eternity, a life that exalts Christ. The invitation is simple but costly, relentlessly pursue Jesus. The goal isn’t comfort or achievement, it’s more and more of Him. Some of us love the benefits of Jesus more than we love Jesus, so what’s on the throne of your heart? When confronted with sin, do you repent or defend it?
Real joy is found in the will of God. Run hard after Jesus, leverage your life for Him, and ask what He wants to do with your life. At the end of it all, the prize isn’t what Jesus gives, the prize is Jesus.
PHILIPPIANS I The Goal
2026/04/10
Philippians 3:1-11 I Derek Jones I April 9, 2026
None of us have life fully figured out, we’re all carrying baggage. Culture constantly tells us to trust ourselves, but Scripture calls us to put no confidence in the flesh. Anything we rely on to feel right with God that isn’t Jesus won’t last. Real confidence is found in Christ.
Like Paul, we’re invited to let go of confidence in both our sin and our success to know Him more. So what are you counting on? Maybe it’s time to drop the bags, both the good and the bad, and run after Him.
PHILIPPIANS I Obedience
2026/03/27
Philippians 2:12-30 I Nick Harsh I March 26, 2026
This week at Salt, we looked at what it means to live as citizens of heaven. While our culture drifts toward anxiety, complaining, and sarcasm, Jesus calls us to something different: radical obedience, defiant joy, and sacrificial love. Not to earn salvation, but to live from it.
If we want to be a force for good and an effective witness, it starts here: with lives shaped daily by Jesus, in community, empowered by Him.
